How to create the exe files for java application
How to create the exe file for java application?
got any software to do that?
ThanksIn terms of converting java applications into exe files, there are 3 schools of thought:
1) Instead of converting it to an exe, convert it to a jar file. Jar files are more portable than exe files because they can be double-clicked on any operating system. The caveat is that a Java interpreter must be installed on the target computer for the double-clicking to work.
http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/Books/javaprogramming/JAR/
2) Create an exe launcher that, when double-clicked, attempts to find a Java interpreter on the local computer and launches the Java application. The exe file is still double-clickable but whether your java application runs depends on whether a Java interpretor is installed on the target computer.
http://www.sureshotsoftware.com/exej/
http://www.objects.com.au/products/jstart/index.jsp
http://www.duckware.com/products/javatools.html
http://www.ucware.com/jexec/
http://www.rolemaker.dk/nonRoleMaker/javalauncher/
http://www.jelude.cjb.net/
http://thor.prohosting.com/~dfolly/java/index.html
3) Create an exe launcher that bundles a Java interpretor. Same as above but when the exe file is double-clicked, it searches for a Java interpreter and if one is not found, it installs one on the target computer. The caveat is that the exe file would have an overhead of 10 MB in size for the interpreter.
http://www.excelsior-usa.com/jet.html (evaluation version available)
4) Convert the Java application into a native exe file. The caveat is that if you use Swing for your GUI, it won't be converted. Also this option is still somewhat experimental.
Can't think of any free options right now. -
How to create the SWF file which was included surrogate pairs.
I would like to make sure how to create the SWF file which are included surrogate pairs.
The error of outside the scope of unicode occurred when I compiled(mxmlc) the as file which was set surrogate pairs to 'Unicoderange'.
Ex, I set the ' '(UTF-16 is '20B9F') to 'Unicoderange'.
However, I cannot add the surrogate pairs.
The error of outside the scope of Unicode occurred when I compiled the AS file.
The reason of error was that the Unicode(UTF-16) of surrogate pairs is invalid.
Then, I read the following pages.
These pages are written that unicode-range supported surrogate pairs.
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=fonts_07.html
http://www.w3.org/TR/1998/REC-CSS2-19980512/fonts.html#descdef-unicode -range
So please let me know how to create the SWF file which are included surrogate pairs.
Environment
- Flex3.5a
- TTC: meiryo(ver6.02), msgothic(ver2.50), mspgothic(ver2.50)
Thanks,
Takeshi Ishihara.I've been able to create project jar files in Eclipse by selecting Export from the File menu, then choose Java - Jar file - and provide the required information, name, destination folder etc. But when I do this, I do not export other jars on the build path this way nor do I expect to do this. I am only concerned with creating a jar file of my own work. A jar file does not "contain" other jar files. If the jar file contains the main method, and requires other jars for it's execution, then you may wish to include a reference to required jars on the class path entry of the Manifest file of the jar file you create. I'm not sure how to create a Manifest file in eclipse though..

How to use the namespace with a parser?
I want to use the namespace in my project. For this reason, I use a sample
from
http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/dist/1.1/docs/tutorial/sax/7b_pe.html
http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/dist/1.1/docs/tutorial/dom/5_ns.html
to test my understanding.
The slideshow2.dtd refer to the definition in 'xhtml.dtd'. Because in these
two files, they all use the 'title' as the element names. To solve these
conflicts, The namespace is used to qualified the one in slideshow2.dtd.
But the parser still complain that the 'title' in slideshow2.dtd is declared
more than once.
I use apache's Xerces.
I want to know if Xereces realy support namespace spec. now, or how to use
the namespace with a parser. Can anyone kindly tell me where to find some
material that demo the use of namespace in Java program.
Thanks for any help!!!

How to create web services in java?
Hi,
I am a newbie to java webservices. Can anybody tell me how to create web services in java?
Any tutorial link or step by step doc would be useful.
Appreciate your help in this regard.

naymo01.Creating web services in Java appears to depend highly upon the server you intend to use.
Here's a tutorial: http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/1.6/tutorial/doc/index.html -

Please update your forum profile with a real handle instead of "914824".
When you have a problem you'll get a faster, more effective response by including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
<li>Full APEX version
<li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
<li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
<li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
<li>Theme
<li>Template(s)
<li>Region/item type(s)
With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand.
I am going to have over 50 buttons in a page, Why? This would be a most unusual UI paradigm. I've never seen such a page, which suggests that whatever you want to do is normally done another way. Please explain the requirement in more detail.
just wanted to know if its possible to do something like this in java.
Java is not used in programming APEX UI behaviour. Java and JavaScript may share initial syllables, but they are not closely related.
It's possible to achieve a great deal in JavaScript, but a clear definition of the requirements is necessary. Do you mean the buttons should be dynamically generated? If so, yes, this is possible in JavaScript. What would drive the process?
Also, i would like to have dynamic action on it, for example, when the button is pressed, fill a string of text into other items(text field) within the page. Without more detail its not possible to make any specific suggestions. For example, I certainly would not want to create 50+ individual dynamic actions relating to different buttons. -
How to create dynamic variable in Java?
Hi,
I want to create dynamic varible , using ArrayList or Vector. The number of array i dont knwo, so how to create dynamic ArrayList or Vector.
for example:
ArrayList1,ArrayList2,ArrayList3.....n
or
Vector1,Vector2,Vector3 .....n, the n value i will get at run time, so how to create the dynamic ArrayList or Vector or i can use any other Object in java,
Pls provide your input.
Sridhar1. I have a HashMap with dataok ... fair enough.
2. depending on its size, i need to create variable
to store them.uhm ... why? If you have a variable number of elements in the map then you'd need to generate a variable number of variables (a number, that is not know at compile time, as it seems). Now if you could somehow create those variables, how would you access them? You'd have to generate the code handling them as well ...
Tell us what kind of data you've got and what you want to do with it. There's certainly a better solution to your problem.
how to generate variables as per content size of the
HashMapYou don't. -
How to create the Portal Service in Portal 7.3,
Dear Experts,
how to create the Portal Service in Portal 7.3, as we create in Portal 7.0 by creating the Portal Project in that we create Portal Service and we can start and stop in Portal Service configuration in System Administration
Thanks,

Procedure
1. Open the SAP NetWeaver Administrator by either of the following methods:
a. Use the URL to your AS Java (hostname:port) to access the AS Java home page and use the link to SAP NetWeaver Administrator.
b. Alternatively, add nwa to the AS Java URL to access SAP NetWeaver Administrator directly. (hostname:port/nwa).
2 Go to Operations Management Systems and click the Start & Stop link.
The Start & Stop: Java EE Instances window opens.
3 Click the Java EE Application bar and select the relevant application in the Application List.
The Portal Services pane displays the services associated with the selected application.

How to Create adf table from java bean
Hi,
How to Create adf table from java class (Not from ADF BC).
Thanks
Satya@vlsn -- you have to follow what shay said.
Do the following in Model layer ::
create a table property java class with your columns setters and getters like :
*public class gridProps {*
private int sno;
private String orderNum;
*public void setSno(int sno) {*
this.sno = sno;
*public int getSno() {*
return sno;
*public void setOrderNum(String orderNum) {*
this.orderNum = orderNum;
*public String getOrderNum() {*
return orderNum;
Create another table java class which will populate the values to your column values and return the collection :
*public class gridPopulate {*
private List<gridProps> gridValues ;
*public List<gridProps> setToGrid(ArrayList<ArrayList> valuesToSet) {*
*if (valuesToSet == null) {*
return gridValues;
gridValues = new ArrayList<gridProps>();
if(btnValue.equals("completeBtn"))
return gridValues;
for(ArrayList<String> tempArr:valuesToSet)
gridProps gp = new gridProps();
gp.setSno(Integer.valueOf(tempArr.get(0)));
gp.setOrderNum(tempArr.get(1));
return gridValues;
Right click gridPopulate class and create this as data control.This class will be seen in Data control list.Under this data control,Drag the grid property collection(created earlier) to your page.Then execute your binding(gridPopulate) according to your logic.
Thanks.(My jdev version 11.1.1.5.0) -
