How to debug or test PCR?
Hi guys,
im an abaper that now configures in HR =), my first shock is that i don't know how to debug or test the pcr´s (the rules that u create on pe02)
any ideas?
Hi
First it is better to understand the meaning of these PCR's and where and why they are used?
A personnel calculation rule is an instruction to carry out certain tasks in time evaluation and payroll, or in the evaluation of payroll results.
A personnel calculation rule can be used to check existing conditions, and carry out individual actions accordingly.
Personnel calculation rules have the same structure as decision trees.
You can ask the Fun ctional consultant and know the debug of them
see the master tables for them:

how to debug a report
i am new to ABAPHi
<b>ABAP Debugger</b>
The ABAP Debugger is an integrated test tool within the ABAP Workbench. You use it to check the program logic and to find errors in the source code of an ABAP program. In the Debugger, you can step through the source code of a program. The running program is interrupted after each step, allowing you to check its processing logic and the results of individual statements.
As of Release 6.10, you can also run Business Server Pages (BSP) in the debugging mode. You can also display and set breakpoints here. Business Server Pages can be displayed in the Object Navigator when you select an appropriate application under BSP Application.
<b>Features</b>
The Debugger provides an efficient means of identifying errors in ABAP programs. It contains the following functions:
Ways of starting the Debugger
Choosing different views
Choosing different execution options in the Debugger
Displaying source code in the Debugger
Setting and deleting breakpoints
Setting and deleting watchpoints
Stopping a program at a particular statement or event
Displaying and changing field contents at runtime
Displaying ABAP Objects and references
Displaying and positioning strings
Setting and deleting database locks
Opening the ABAP Editor, or Object Navigator
System settings and runtime warnings
<b>Starting the Debugger</b>
There are two possible strategies for starting the Debugger in the ABAP Workbench:
By setting breakpoints then running the program
By running the program in debugging mode.
<b>Setting Breakpoints</b>
A breakpoint is a signal in a line of code that tells the ABAP runtime processor to interrupt the program at that line and start the ABAP Debugger. A distinction is made between static and dynamic breakpoints. For further information about the different types of breakpoints and how to use them, refer to Breakpoints.
Running a Program in Debugging Mode
You can start the Debugger without previously having set breakpoints. This is the best procedure to use when you want to test a program right from the beginning. It is also useful if you do not know the program very well and therefore are not sure where best to set breakpoints. You can start the Debugger as follows:
From the Object Navigator Select a report or transaction and program and choose Program Test Debugging.
From the ABAP Editor Choose Program  Execute  Debugging (or the Debugging pushbutton).
From any screen Choose System  Utilities  Debug ABAP.
From any screen Enter " /h " in the command field.
<b>Checking System Programs for Errors</b>
To check a program or program component that is part of the ABAP Workbench (for example, the Screen Painter), you must use the system Debugger. To start the system Debugger, choose System  Utilities  Debug system from any screen. To stop the system Debugger, choose Debugger  Debugging off.
<b>
Displaying Program Attributes</b>
You can display the attributes Fixed point arithmetic, System program and Unicode checks active of the program that has just been executed by choosing Goto  Further Information  Program Attributes.
<b>
Display Modes in the Debugger</b>
When you are debugging a program, there are various display modes that you can use. All of the display modes have the same structure. The top part of the screen displays an extract of the program source code. The bottom part displays the information specifically available in that display mode. There are also pushbuttons on the screen allowing you to switch to the most frequently-used display modes.
go to se38->give ur program name-.execute->give /h at command prompt->execute->now debugging will start->
f5-used for line by line debugging
f6-used for directly executing function modules or performs i.e. control won't go into that block.
f7-run to cursor
f8-direct executing.
fileds: here we can check fild values.
click fileds option and double click on the filed or type the filen name beside filed
tables : here we can check the data in the internal table.
click tables option and double click on the internal table.
Break points:
if you want to debug a particulr part you can use this.
place the cursor at any perform click breakpoint or double click on that line.it will be set.
if /h from report statement it will debug,so for debugging from particular point we will use break points.use f7 to traverse between multiple break points.
Watch-points: In some cases we need to check the data populated in the internal table for eample if we want to check the data of internal table record belongs to 100th vendor we will create watch point for this goto->breakpoints->create watch points->give filed itab-lifnr->=->100.
debugging procedure:
Use '/H' in the command line and execute the report/program, so that it goes to debugging mode
2. keep a hard coded break point in the code like BREAK-POINT and it stops there.
3.From the program Menu, Keep the Soft Break-points and do the debugging.

BUG: Debug Unit tests in Selected
I think I've found a bug in JDeveloper.
Using "Debug Unit Tests in Selected" does not all unit tests in the selected projects.
To reproduce:
-select a list of projects,
-right click and select "Debug Unit Tests in Selected".
Results:
-JDev will run all the unit tests in the last project selected but no others.
What it should do:
-JDev should run all unit tests in all selected projects

thanks for getting back to me.
I just went to the controls panel (under Systemsteuerung\Programme\Standardprogramme\Dateizuordnungen festlegen, sorry, German) I can see:
Name: .swf
Description: Shockwave Flash Object
Application: Unknown application
Also, double clicking a swf file prompts me with a dialog saying Windows can't openit since it doesn't know how. -
How to Debug RFC Enabled FM ?
Hello All,
I want to debug an RFC Enabled FM.
I've written a small Test program to check this.
DATA: eenumber LIKE bapip2001-pernr,
subtype LIKE bapip2001-subty,
objectid LIKE bapip2001-objps,
lockindicator LIKE bapip2001-sprps,
validitybegin LIKE bapip2001-begda,
validityend LIKE bapip2001-endda,
recordnumber LIKE bapip2001-seqnr.
CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_ABSENCE_GETDETAIL
EXPORTING
employeenumber = eenumber
subtype = subtype
objectid = objectid
lockindicator = lockindicator
validitybegin = validitybegin
validityend = validityend
recordnumber = recordnumber
* IMPORTING
* RETURN =
* START =
* END =
* ABSENCETYPE =
* ABSENCEDAYS =
* ABSENCEHOURS =
* NAMEOFABSENCETYPE =
IF sy-subrc <> 0.
WRITE:/ 'UNsuccessful'.
ENDIF.
When a Break Point is kept at the above FM and When I press F5 the cursor is going into the FM .
But when I specify the Destination in the Call Statement as :
CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_ABSENCE_GETDETAIL' DESTINATION 'SID_010'
EXPORTING
employeenumber = eenumber
subtype = subtype
objectid = objectid
lockindicator = lockindicator
validitybegin = validitybegin
validityend = validityend
recordnumber = recordnumber
* IMPORTING
* RETURN =
* START =
* END =
* ABSENCETYPE =
* ABSENCEDAYS =
* ABSENCEHOURS =
* NAMEOFABSENCETYPE =
The control is not going into the FM.
Can any one tell me how to debug the FM within a different system ?
Regards,
Deepu.KHi Deepu,
Your function module is at other system and you are calling it at some other system.
I hope you know on which system your function module exists.
First debug your coding at your system where you are calling this RFC Function Module and go to that point where your function module starts, now check the export data here
And
go to that system where this function module exists and give the same export data there and debug this Function Module at that system.
Reward points, if helpful,

SPNego - Windows integrated Single-Sign On not working - How to debug?
Dear board,
I've tried to configure SPNego - Windows Integrated SSO with no sucess yet. We do use SAP EP7 on Windows Server 2003 64bit with MS AD 2003. The following is done:
- Service Account is created, authentication works when done on pupose
- SPNego wizard completed sucessfully, WebAs Java restarted
- IE6: Windows integrated Logon is activated, IE shows Intranet when accessing the portal url ( I can't modify the IE Security Settings yet, but as we do use KERBEROS outside of SAP as well, my assumption was settings are fine)
- UID in windows, EP and ECC are equal
When I access the portal URL, I am prompted for used id and password. How can I trace methodically what is wrong? Some kind of checklist with links, url or SAP Notes would be great. I've also read references to a test application as well as some diag / trace tool.
Please post thoroughly as I am rather new to this topic and still missing important terms and knowledge.
Kind regards and thanks in advance,
RichardDear board,
after the service principal name registration was done (once again maybe) the error message disappeared in the SPNego wizard when I retrieve the Principal in Step 2, the test resolution works as before in step 3 of the wizard.
At the moment, the error message in the central log file is still unchanged. Acquiring crendetials for realm xxx.xxx.org failed, no valid credentials provided.

How to debug ABAP Web services from Microsoft Visual Studio
When developing .NET based Web services clients using Visual Studio that call Web services in SAP NetWeaver .NET developers would like to be able to debug inside SAP. In my blog <a href="/people/andre.fischer/blog/2007/02/07/how-to-debug-abap-web-services-from-microsoft-visual-studio to debug ABAP Web services from Microsoft Visual Studio</a> I would like to point .NET developers to the fact that SAP NetWeaver offers the option of external debugging to perform this task. Though the steps that have to be performed are described in the SAP Online Help I am sure that this option is not well known amongst the .NET developer community.
Hello WilliamIV,
>>How can I "configure" Visual Studio debugger to allow validation to work?
Since I do not have a VS2012 environment, according to your provided link, I created a test demo with VS2013, however, both ways catch the validation error:
If possible, you could have a try with VS2013 to see if it works or run the example on other machine with VS2012 to see if this is caused by the VS environment, in my side, I do not change any configuration, all are default.
If I misunderstood this issue, please feel free to let me know.

How to debug a failed shopping cart transfer to ECC in classic mode
Hello,
I am using SRM 5 in classic mode, connected to ECC 6.0.
I have an error message in the administrator monitor that tells me a transfer a shopping cart to ECC has failed.
"Shopping cart 1000000123: Error creating the follow-on document"
(Message is BBP_PU 367)
This is located in the "local errors" section of the administrator monitor.
The follow on doucment will be a PO in ECC.
This message does not tell me the cause of the problem therefore I need to retrnsmit the cart and debug to find the error message that is being returned from ECC.
I have browsed the forum and there are various answers about debugging but but have not found exact instructions on how to debug, and it is now always clear on whether the instructions apply to classic or extended classic.
I have seen reference to the method in note 539978 that creates test data with FBGENDAT for the ECC BAPI. However this method does not seem suitable for a production system because it will interfere with all shopping carts being transferred while the shoppign cart with the problem is being debugged.
Therefore I would like to debug in SRM just for the shoppign cart with the problem.
Hopefully this thread will become the defintiive poitn of reference for debuggin a classic shopping cart transfer to ECC in SRM 5.
I propose to use function module BBP_PD_SC_TRANSFER to transfer the shopping cart again by entering the shopping cart GUID.
Question 1) Can this error message be returned by checks in SRM before the BAPI is called in ECC? If so, where do I place a breakpoint to find the error determined by the checks in SRM?
Question 2) If the system is getting as far as calling the BAPI in ECC, is it possbile to find the error message passed back from ECC by this approach, given that the actual transfer is carried out by the spooler?
Question 3) If this approach is valid, in which method/function module do I need to place a breakpoint, at which statement is the error message passed back to SRM from ECC?
Your help would be appreciated,
ReagrdsHi Paul,
a small correction to Dishas comment:
The class CL_BBP_BS_ADAPTER_PO_CRT_470_1 is used for the backend release 4.7, so it is not relevant for you. Instead of this, you have to take the CL_BBP_BS_ADAPTER_PO_CRT_ERP10 and method CREATE_DOCUMENT. This is the last step, before the SRM calls the backend system.
From the alert "local errors" I suppose, that there is an error in the SRM customizing (in case the error message comes from the backend system, you get the message into the "Backend Application error").
Typical customizing error, when e.g. the number range of the purchase REQUISITION is not correctly customized (in case the prerequisits for a PO are not fulfilled, the system tried to create a purchase requisition). See the note 1173815 regarding this problem.
Back to your questions:
The activating of the FBGENDAT was a good idea, but I would give here two hints:
- I case of production system you can use only the "Mode B".
- Activate the FBGENDAT only for a short term:
-- at first set the breakpoint in the method CREATE_DOCUMENT (as above described)
-- execute the BBP_PD_SC_TRANSFER
-- you will be stopped at the breakpoint.
-- Now you can activate the FBGENDAT in the backend
-- go on with F8 in the debugger in the SRM system
-- >>> test data will be filled in the backend system (BAPI_PO_CREATE1)
-- deactivate the FBGENDAT
You can do this in one min. and the worst what can happen is that you have 2-3 test data in the BAPI_PO_CREATE1 additionally to the erronous SC.
Question 1) Can this error message be returned by checks in SRM before the BAPI is called in ECC? If so, where do I place a breakpoint to find the error determined by the checks in SRM?
- Maybe... Places for setting breakpoints
-- FM "BBP_PD_MSG_ADD"
-- System command "RAISE"
-- FM "META_BAPI_DISPATCH" (typical problem, see above, and also the note 1173815)
Question 2) If the system is getting as far as calling the BAPI in ECC, is it possible to find the error message passed back from ECC by this approach, given that the actual transfer is carried out by the spooler?
- Yes, you can find the message in the:
-- Test data of the BAPI_PO_CREATE1, if you have activated the FBGENDAT
-- In the method CREATE_DOCUMENT if you "comes back" from the RFC call from the backend
Question 3) If this approach is valid, in which method/function module do I need to place a breakpoint, at which statement is the error message passed back to SRM from ECC?
- see above, CL_BBP_BS_ADAPTER_PO_CRT_ERP10 method CREATE_DOCUMENT

How to Debug Upload Function (ZCL_RSPLF_FILE_UPLOAD)
Hello,
We have the standard Upload function customized to call a function module which eventually does some calculations. I need to modify the function module with extra logic. I cant test the FM directly as it doesn't have Test Frame.
Am stuck at how to debug the Upload function. Is it possible through program RSPLS_PLSEQ_EXECUTE but then how do I create the variant. Cant create it through Modeler.
Please suggest.
Thanks and regards
GauravHi Gaurav,
As per my understanding you are trying to debug the custom planning function created using SE24.Go to this transaction enter the function name and place the externa break point as suggested in interface you want to debug .
OR go to rsplf1 - specify function and place external break point.
You can get it triggered two ways.
If you already have GPS- Planning sequence built ,directly execute it .It will take you in debug mode.
You can also create new one if required for testing.
or
If you are using any layout to load data ,you can also trigger it from there.
It will take you to debug mode only after you place external breakpoint.
Do not put break point rgt after intialization.... -
hi
could anybody suggest me how to debug RFC
thank you
kalyan.Hello Kalyan,
What do you mean by debug RFC? RFC can be tested using SM59 transaction code.

How to debug IDoc and waht about WE19
hi experts how to debug idocs waht is we19 and perpose
We19 is Testing Inbound IDOC and you can debugging from we19 Transaction
Outbound IDOC Debugging :
Example of Invoice :
Set ur Break point at your code
now come to VF02 Transaction and use invoice number.
click on enter
GOTO->HEADER->OUTPUT
Give the output type and print medium should be 6(EDI) or A( ALE)
Click on Further data and select->select send with periodically scheduled job and save it.
Now Come to SE38 and use RSNAST00
Output Application : V3
Object key - Invoice Number ( 10 digit)
Output type - RD00( SAP Standard)
Transmission medium = 6(EDI) ,A(ALE)
Now it will stop at your code.
Reward Points if it is helpful
Thanks

Hi Friends,
I am new to ABAP.
Can anyone of you let me how to debug an ABAP program in detail.
I would like to know whether my logic is working properly and see the field values during debugging.
If any one of you have an How to document which speaks about debugging, pls send it to id, [email protected]
Points will be assigned all to helpfull answers.
Thanks
mv_dHi,
go to se38->give ur program name-.execute->give /h at command prompt->execute->now debugging will start->
f5-used for line by line debugging
f6-used for directly executing function modules or performs i.e. control won't go into that block.
f7-run to cursor
f8-direct executing.
fileds: here we can check fild values.
click fileds option and double click on the filed or type the filen name beside filed
tables : here we can check the data in the internal table.
click tables option and double click on the internal table.

How to debug the jar files while developing the native extension for android
ANyone???
I'm having the same problem. I learned FB and Eclipse. I've read the tutorials, created an ane, and built it into a test app. I can debug my test app within FB 4.7 on my mobile device via USB. But there are bugs and they silently fail. Despite all my Log statements in my android java code, they won't output to the FB console. I'm blind, without even trace statements to help fix my ane. I've searched the internet and can't find anything. It must either be terribly obvious or arcane, because no one mentions it.
Can anyone tell me how to get trace out of an ane?
The Android reference claims debug and verbose priority are stripped out at runtime. I switched to Log.i() but still get nothing. I suppose for now I'll try throwing errors and see if I can report trace info that way if possible.
Anyone perhaps have a JUnit test that will mimic AIR using the ane jar file as an extension? Perhaps it will be easier to go full native until the android side is debugged.
Update Edit: Ok, now spending more time reading the Android developers website. I've found I can use logcat to get all kinds of useful system logs, including the log output of my embedded ane. I created a nice big command line window (180 char wide with a 500 deep buffer so I can scroll back through all the messages), then from the android platform tools directory I ran 'adb shell', then at the shell prompt $>logcat

How to debug a runtime stack underflow error?
I'm really struggling to resolve a stack underflow that I'm getting. The traceback I get at runtime is:
VerifyError: Error #1024: Stack underflow occurred.
at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction()
at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent()
at flash.net::URLLoader/onComplete()
This is particularly difficult to debug because when I run in debug mode it does not happen at all. It only happens when compiled as a release.
Does anyone have any tips on how to debug a Stack Underflow? Are have a clean explanation of what that means for Flash?
In case it helps, this error is occurring when I click a button whose handler makes an RPC call, which uses a URLLoader, an AsyncToken, and then invokes the set of AsyncResponder instances associated with the AsyncToken. With some server-side logging as well as some logging hacked into the swf, I know that the UrlLoader is successfully doing and GET'ing a crossdomain.xml file, is correctly processing it (if I wreck it, I get a security error), and is also successfully completing the "load" request (the server sends the data)... the underflow seems to be happening in the Event.COMPLETE listening/handling process (as is, of course, implied by the traceback as well).
mxmlc used = from flex_sdk_4.5.0.20967

Yes... I intended to say so here but didn't get to it yet. View traffic was extremely low here and I thought I'd see how stackoverflow compared. I tend to check there first for most languages usually, but thought I'd try here as well to see if I should break that habit.
As per the SO post, my specific problem was resolved by switching my variable initialization routine from the "initialize" application event, to the onCompletion event. Although I am obviously "happy" about this since this issue cost me a lot of time and hair, it does not really indicate how I would go about debugging such an internal error in the future, so the question is technically unanswered.
As to the question from Flex harUI, I am compiling indirectly via the MXMLC in the SDK, through the Amethyst Visual Studio plugin (which I'm auditioning). The only libraries involved are from the flex_sdk_4.5.0.20967 SDK. The project is quite small (a test project), consisting only of 1 MXML file and 2x .AS files.
