How To Declare SimpleDateFormat!

private Date date=new Date();
Hey !
i am getting an error massege"cannot resolve the symbol'simpleDateFormat' ".
i think i have to declare it first ,i tried but could not come up with a solution.
please somebody help me!thanks

you have to add
import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;
to your code, for javac to find the definition of java.text.SimpleDateFormat.
