I want to update lov value from text_item

Hi Expert,
I have query regarding updating the LOV value which is populating every text_box.
Gone through the discussion, bt I got the help if I have LOV button.
If I have LOV in text_item nt in button then how could I write the execute_query
Bcs when im trying to update the record then it is inserting duplicate record.
For the example:
Customer is block where Cust_no is text_box with LOV(LOV_Cust).
Plz give me solution

You question seems answered.
To update a record, you need to query the record first, then only you should change the cust no.
Otherwise , that is record selected from LOV is considered as new record by the system and it will insert a new record.
If you have put LOV to cust no, allow the user to select from LOV only in the ENTER-QUERY mode.
In when-button-pressed of button and key-listval of cust_no, write like this
KEY-LISTVAL of cust_no
If :system.mode = 'ENTER-QUERY' then
list_values;
end if;
WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED of button
If :system.mode = 'ENTER-QUERY' then
go_item('cust_no');
list_values;
end if;
