How to define Containing Project Directory in the TestStand Search Path?

In TestStand Search Path one of the list is "Containing Project Directory". How can I define this?

Legal Engineer -
TestStand does expose the "containing project directory" in the search directories dialog box. It only has meaning for the FindFile API function when the "currentSequenceFile" parameter is set to a project file. I agree that it is confusing in that it does not apply to steps finding code modules. If you unchecks this setting and you reload a workspace, any projects that use relative paths to specify their files may no longer find their files.
In general the suggestion is to leave it checked and ignore it.

  • Including a LLB into the Teststand search path

    Hello everyone,
on a testsystem I am using Teststand 2013 and Labview 2013. There are different measurement instruments in my system and right now I have all the VIs for controling these instrumtens saved as VIs on my system. Now I want to change this into an LLB. But when I do that, Teststand is no longer able to find the VIs inside the LLB, although the LLB is in the serach path of Testand. Since a lot of Sequence files access these VIs, it would be a lot of work to manually edit each VI call. Is it possible to include the LLB into the search path?
Thank you very much for your help!
    Felix

    Hi,
The search within a LLB is not supported within TestStand.
You need to update your vi path in the step settings like "MyLLB.llb\In An LLB.vi"
i.e. modify the path as  llbname\\existingviname.vi.
If you put the llb in a relative path it should be fine.

  • Open Directory, third party LDAP search path problem on Snow Leopard

    Happy new year folks,
I ran into an interesting problem this past week in regards to a third party LDAP directory in the Search path (which used to work on previous versions). The issue brings the server to its knees eventually. I'm still digging through the logs, but here's the general breakdown...
    1. Add third-party LDAP to the OD node list. This has always worked on previous versions, and appears to still work at the most basic level. I can navigate the node with DSCL, read records, etc.
    1. Add third-party LDAP to the OD search path.
    2. Wait a few minutes....
    3. The server begins to slow down. Apache, SSH, ServerAdmin service stop responding. I'm able to run "top" briefly, which shows an increase of threads.
    4. Restart the server and quickly remove the directory from the OD search path
    5. Server goes back to being rock solid with very nice response times for Apache, SSH, ServerAdmin, etc.
If anyone has any debugging suggestions, or has seen this before, let me know.
    Jaime

    Hi
I'm in agreement with harry here but what I'm struggling to understand is why you are seeing this as a problem? I'm also struggling to see this as being a possibility in a single server environment if I understand your post correctly?
Promotion to OD Master with all that entails absolutely rests on a properly configured and tested internal DNS Service. The Kerberos Realm's foundation (and with that the ability of the server to perform its function as KDC and offer LDAP services) entirely depends on what is configured in the DNS Service. This will include the server name, domain name and tld. The Kerberos Realm automatically configures itself using that information. Likewise the searchbase.
Its more than possible to change the Realm name and with it the LDAP search base (in certain circumstances) and have an OD Master, however Kerberos won't start it won't need to as the KDC will be elsewhere. You generally see this when augmenting Windows AD with MCX. In that situation Realm name and search base will reflect what is set on the Active Directory. Client computers will use what is set there for contact and authentication information before looking at the OD Master for anything else.
    Does this help? Tony

  • Can I programmatically change the VI Search Path?

I'm writing a simple program to periodically mass compile certain directories of my source code.  In my directory structure I try to enforce rules about what is allowed to depend on what, so I want to programatically enforce this during the mass compile.   To do this, I'd need to modify the VI search path before each directory is compiled.  Is there any property or method available for changing the VI Search Path?

There is, but it's a private property, so it's not documented, and its behavior and/or availability can change with subsequent releases of LabVIEW:

  • How to create a virtual directory for the Report Server

Hi, I am new to server admin and need help with configuration.
I would like to map a physical directory on the server so that users can use a virtual path to save report outputs in that location. For example the form will call the report with desname = 'd:\xyz\abc.pdf' and the output file will be saved in a predefined directory on the server. I know how to do it on the forms server using the orion_web.xml but not sure about the report server configuration.
We are using rwservlet to run reports on 10G release2/Windows 2000.
    Thanks in advance,

Virtual directories are mapped in the httpd.conf file in the Apache directory as aliases:
    Alias /xyz/ "d:\xyz\"
You can now call the report output with
    http://server/xyz/abc.pdf

  • How to define ABC class field in the Customer Master Sales tab

    HI All,
can any one let me know how to define the new  ABC class in the Customer Master Sales tab like below.
    u2013 A (> 6,000,000 )
    u2013 B (> 1,000,000u20136,000,000 )
    u2013 C (> 100,000u20132,000,000 )
    u2013 D (< 100,000 )
can any one let me know how to define and path in IMG.
    Thanks in advance.
    kumar reddy.

In my opinion, you don't have any such std table/view to update ABC Classification field. You might need to update relevant infostructure based on your requirement, such as sales, invoiced, etc..
Try with following, based on your requirement:
    MC(A
    SIS: Customer,Inc.Orders - Selection
    MC+A
    SIS: Customer Returns, Selection
    MC+E
    SIS: Customer, Sales - Selection
    MC+I
SIS: Customer Credit Memos - Selec.

I have enhanced BP_HEAD component and enhanced the view required as well( View Name BPHeadOverview). I have added my new component as the used components in BP_HEAD.

    Hi Sudipta,
Thanks for your help. I am making good progress.
I believe i am quite close to completion now. Need your help with following questions though -
    1) I have a context node BUILACTIVITY. Now i need to only display partial list from this context node? Is there a way i can do this directly with the context node or i have to create a new node and manipulate? If so any tips there?
    2) When i create new view it doesn't have graphical representation option any more? Is it that way only? If so can i just create table view and use it?
    3) When i create a form view and try to insert a table using <crmic:tableView> tag, i am getting an error messge saying "//BUILACTIVITY/Table" is not a table? What could be the issue?
Thanks a lot for your help again.

  • How to specify a different directory for the Run-Time Engine?

With LV 7.1 it's become even more difficult to create installation sets in third-party tools without having to include the full run-time engine separately.
If you use any of the advanced analysis VIs you have to install the run-time engine (no use in including files in the same directory as the built application) and if you do and you use the old serial VIs you get a problem because the application will load the run-time from the main run-time installation and then look for serpdrv in that directory, not in the application folder...
So - being forced to use the installer builder in the application builder and include the run-time engine in the installation kit I wonder whether it is possible to specify where the run-time should be installed?
By default it will go in a directory called National Instruments in the program files folder, however that is not ideal due to the fact that the users have no relation to the fact that our application needs something from NI...and may end up deleting the directory ("National Instruments? - what do I need that for...let me delete it...). We would like to be able to specify that the run-time is installed silently in a directory named with our company name instead.
    MTO

When you create the stand alone, in options you can actually set the temp directory and default directory. You can change it there OR in goto options and check for libraries/directories. You can change it there too.
Kudos always welcome for helpful posts

  • How will I be able to make the TestStand UI objects into XP theme?

Hi, I am using TestStand UI in .net, How will I be able to make the UI objecys of TestStand to adapt the XP theme?
Is there any example code that you can give me? Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The shipped TestStand  .NET Operator Interface  has a manifest file included in the project. This manifest file includes the Micrsoft.Windows.Common-Controls which is needed to identify the XP theme that has been configured on the operating system. In the shipped .NET Operator interface, this .manifest file is being embedded into the executable and formats the TestStand Operator Interface to display the XP theme that has been configured on the operating system. in the shipped TestStand 4.1.1 Operator Interface, the manifest file is embedded into the executable in a Project post-build event.
There are three things that the manifest file is required to have in order to allow the TestStand Operator Interface executable to adapt to the XP theme. They are as follows:
The manifest file must have the same name as the executable. For example, if your executable is named MyExecutable.exe, your manifest file is required to have the name MyExecutable.exe.manifest.
The manifest file must include the Micrsoft.Windows.Common-Controls in order to identify the XP theme that has been configured on the operating system.
The manifest file must reside in the same directory as the executable.
If you are building on an existing Operator interface that ships with TestStand 4.1.1, make sure that the manifest file meets these two requirements. If it does you can test that the theme is properly adapting by selecting Debug»Start Without Debugging.
If this works properly, you can rest assured that when building a release version of the TestStand Operator Interface, it will adapt to the XP theme that has been configured on the operating system.
NOTE:  that you can only test this feature if you launch the executable without debugging because this allows the executable to run its own process. If you run the executable with debugging, the Visual Studio environment will host the process and will not allow the manifest file to be embedded into the executable.

  • How to open a file and display the complete file path?

In my script, I want to create a dialog that prompts the user to define a few variables for the script. One of those variables is the path to a template file. I want it to work the same way that an upload form works. You click the browse button, the dialog appears so that you can browse for the file and then when you click OK or Open, the full path of the file is displayed in the text box next to it. How do I do this with JavaScript? I got this far and it seems to be working, but the wrong text is being displayed in the text box. Plus: How do I properly restrict the file types to PSD. The code doesn't seem to work, despite the fact that there are no errors reported. Initially the Text box is blank, but After I browse for the file, the text box says: "File". Here is the problem area:
    defineVars.STPnl.STBrowse.onClick = function browseST() {
    var stbFile = File.openDialog("Select the Single Mugshot Key Template File", "File Types: *.psd, *.PSD");
    defineVars.STPnl.STPath.text = stbFile;
Thank you to whoever assists me! :)

    Change this:
    defineVars.STPnl.STPath.text = stbFile;
    To this:
    defineVars.STPnl.STPath.text = stbFile.fullName;
The reason is that stbFile is a File object, you need to access its properties in order to get the full path.

  • How to add a standard field to the Product search criteria ?

    Hello all,
despite my searches on google and sdn, i'm still  confused on how to add a standard field in the search criteria of the Product seach screens (component/view PRD01QR/Search for example) , I mean a standard Product field that is not included in the available fields list in the UI configuration tool.
I found some explanations for adding a specific Z-Field, this is ok , but I'd like to add a standard field as a search criterion, namely the item category group.
Could someone give me the needed detailed steps for this?
    thanks

  • How do I clear out history on the iPhone search located on home screen

Past text messages come up in the iPhone search even though they were deleted and are no longer in phone book.

Only by restoring your phone as a new device, not from backup. The data is in a cache that is not user accessible. It will eventually be overwritten as you use your phone. But, if you want it gone now, restoring as new will get rid of it.

  • How can I change then locale of the sample search application?

I have successfully installed Ultra Search.
    But the sample search page(http://localhost:7777/ultrasearch/query/usearch.jsp)
is in English. And the query result wasn't correct when I input a Chinses word.
I founed usearch.jsp was hard-coded to Locale.USBI must Change it into Simplified Chinese. What should I do?
    Thanx.

    in usearch.jsp, q_locale and q_docLocale are different.
q_locale is the language of the query string typed by the user.
q_docLocale is the language of the documents being searched.
So if your q_locale is Locale.CHINA, but q_docLocale is Locale.ENGLISH,
    you might not find anything.
When it is not clear, you can pass null for q_docLocale, then all documents
    will be searched.
