How to deliver reports to clients

Hi all,
We have developed a report using BI publisher. We did the following
1. We used BI answers to draft our querries.
2. We integrated BI publisher with MS word and uploaded a template.
3. Viewed the report using BI publisher.
Now, our doubt is that we are unable to interact with the report thus created.
How do we make the report interactive?
How do we deliver the report to the clients?
Pls help.

Enable the Schedule tab in bipublisher and schedule the report to mail or ftp.
For this you have to configure the mail server Admin>Email-->Add Server
Scheduler configuration ---->Admin>Scheduler Configuration

If you offer a PDF to the end user, they usually know what to do with it. OTOH, if you wish to provide software to facilitate the local printing, you might launch an application on the client side that accesses the JNLP API's PrintService - that can be done in a sandboxed application.
A signed application might access the normal J2SE based print services. Though I heard that Sun had decided to make printing a 'prompt on first attempt' deal - even for sandboxed apps., from 1.5 plus (or was it 1.6 plus?).
It would be a serious security bug if a web site could print on the client printer, without trust or active involvement from the end user.

Please some one guide us on how to deliver the created OLAP worksheets to clients. Is that possible??

If by clients you mean end users, then yes: you can deliver OLAP reports via the web, using Discoverer Plus OLAP, or Discoverer Viewer, or via Oracle Portal using the Discoverer Portlet Provider.
You could also deliver OLAP content using the Oracle BI Spreadsheet Add-In via Microsoft Excel.
Finally, you could also create custom JSPs using BI Beans to create your own web pages with OLAP content.
If by clients you mean a client-server environment then the answer is no.

One way of doing this is to write a PL/SQL procedure that uses UTL_FILE to read the file and DBMS_OUTPUT to display the contents to the users.

I could use some help. I have a HD project I need to deliver to a client ASAP. I honestly am not sure the best way to do it. I shot the video in HD and thought I could use a dual layer DVD. I do not have a blue ray burner, but can buy one if that is the only answer.

A DVD that plays in a standard DVD player is standard definition. The regular DVD player set top box will neither read a Blu Ray disk, nor output an HD signal for display.
So . . . you would export a QuickTime movie of your final sequence, without conversion from FCP. Then take that exported sequence into Compressor and use Compressor to encode the video into the format for DVD. The Compressor pre-set you choose will be based on the running time of the sequence you exported:
Choose your pre-set, and let Compressor go to work. The HD will be transcoded to SD at this time.
Once you have had Compressor do the conversion, you will have two new files - a video file and an audio file. You'll need to import these into DVD Studio Pro, where you can create your menus, etc. for the DVD. Once that is complete, have DVD Studio Pro burn the DVD.

i am running report from app server, output is excel file...
using following URL

----this stores the excel file at app server under c:\
now i want to save it on client machine... how can i do that ?
from one forum, i got help , so i changed URL as below

Generating a report for clients that are not registered

Hi - Hopefully someone can assist. We are looking to generate a report in SCCM 2012 that will tell us if a client is properly registered, and most recent scan.
I can't seem to find a generic report for this task, so does anyone know if one exists - or how to create a custom one?

what means "properly registered" in your eyes? To me, if it was able to communicate at all--heartbeat; that means it had to have registered. But maybe you have a different criterion.
So I think what you want is simply something like...

where the most recent heartbeat at the top; and boxes with no heartbeat reported will be null at the bottom. If you don't want to even "see" the boxes that have never reported a heartbeat successfully, then don't left join, use just Join
You could also use v_r_system_valid, instead of v_r_system. As you can tell by the name, _valid means that CM itself has determined those are valid clients; so that might be what you think of as "properly registered".
It all boils down to what means "properly registered" to you, and what you mean by "recent scan". is a recent scan a heartbeat? a software update scan? hardware inventory reported? and what means "recent". the sample above is
reporting on anything and everything regardless of date.
As for default reports, you're saying that the default reports in "Client Status" don't fit your criteria?
Standardize. Simplify. Automate.

Note that this code specifically disables only application arrays. Disabled items are not available after submission (and hence are different from readonly) . But any page javascript can modify disabled or readonly items(client side), so you must check at the server side to validate the data.

Agree with words of TP, to create per user CAL report server must be domain joined. You cannot create report in workgroup mode. Please check beneath article for guide.

To generate spreadsheet output: On the command line, run the report using rwrun or Reports Server clients (rwcgi, rwclient, rwservlet), with DESFORMAT=SPREADSHEET.
For example, to use rwservlet to generate Microsoft Excel output from the paper layout of your report, enter a command that includes the following: http://hostname:port/reports/rwservlet?report=report_name

Notes: It is not possible to generate spreadsheet output directly from Reports Builder.
Microsoft Office 2000/2002/2003 supports Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) as a native file format. Spreadsheet output relies on producing HTML output, which can be understood by Excel as a file with valid Excel format.

Hyperion Interactive Reporting Web Client Installation in Linux.

Hi everybody,
Is there any official documentation of how to install Hyperion Interactive Reporting WEB Client in Linux environments ?
I checked Oracle Documentation and I found information about the HIR Desktop Client. But not about the web client.
Note: I need official documentation because of a discussion with security admins.

The information required to automate (silent) the Insight/Plugin Installation is as follows:
Before going for the Silent Installation of 11.1.1.3 IR Web Client, we need create a Response File and moved the response file to Installer location to automate the Install.
Please follow the below procedure to accomplish the same:
1. Record a response file use the command "setup /ieinstall -r" (or "setup /ff install -r" if you use Firefox).
2. The above command will then create a setup.iss file in the <C:\Windows> directory.
3. Then move that <C:\Windows\Setup.iss> file to the Insight folder, so to resides with the setup.exe.
4. Then to launch the silent installation, use the command "setup /ieinstall -s" and it will use the options you choose when creating the response file.
5. You can create a batch file with the command line script as mentioned in Step 4 and keep in the same folder. So that the end user can use the same to automate the install.

How to deliver news to public application ?

hi,all
In order to post news,i have created two applications,one for admin and the other is for public users(public application).Now i have created a news report,and it contains lots of news,each row contains news_id and news_content.sure it is to add or modify the value,but the question is : how to deliver the first (or second,or third...)news to somewhere of the public application?
I dont know how to make it generate a link(session),so I can't see the news to be displayed in the public application.how to achieve this ??

I'm fairly certain that I don't understand your question but here's what I think you should do:
Create a report form on some table in your admin application. This way you can edit/update/delete this table only when you log in.
Afterwards in you public application just create a report without form or without edit capabilities on the same table you used in you admin module.
Correct me if I missed something you like to do?
