How to open a file created at the server through form/report at client end
Dear Sir/Madame,
I am creating a exception report at the server-end using utl file utility. I want to display this report at the client end. A user doesn't have any access to server. Will u please write me the solution and oblige me.
Thanks
Rajesh Jain

One way of doing this is to write a PL/SQL procedure that uses UTL_FILE to read the file and DBMS_OUTPUT to display the contents to the users.

  • How to open .pptm files created by the latest microsoft powerpoint on a mac

    any mac program can open .pptm or .xml file or can convert it to other file type?

    Until MS Office for Mac gets support for Office 2007, I think it will be tricky. PPTM is the file extension for powerpoint presentations with macros, and Keynote does not support macros. Standard pptx files can be opened with Keynote (with some loss of information).
    You can also check out the latest versions of OpenOffice and NeoOffice. They may get support for pptm, but I do not think it is there yet.

  • How to open a file and display the complete file path?

    In my script, I want to create a dialog that prompts the user to define a few variables for the script. One of those variables is the path to a template file. I want it to work the same way that an upload form works. You click the browse button, the dialog appears so that you can browse for the file and then when you click OK or Open, the full path of the file is displayed in the text box next to it. How do I do this with JavaScript? I got this far and it seems to be working, but the wrong text is being displayed in the text box. Plus: How do I properly restrict the file types to PSD. The code doesn't seem to work, despite the fact that there are no errors reported. Initially the Text box is blank, but After I browse for the file, the text box says: "File". Here is the problem area:
    defineVars.STPnl.STBrowse.onClick = function browseST() {
    var stbFile = File.openDialog("Select the Single Mugshot Key Template File", "File Types: *.psd, *.PSD");
    defineVars.STPnl.STPath.text = stbFile;
    Thank you to whoever assists me! :)

    Change this:
    defineVars.STPnl.STPath.text = stbFile;
    To this:
    defineVars.STPnl.STPath.text = stbFile.fullName;
    The reason is that stbFile is a File object, you need to access its properties in order to get the full path.

  • How to open .doc files created with microsoft word 97... when using mac os x 10.7.4?

    hi!  i'm using mac os x 10.7.4 and have Office 2011.  i can no longer open older documents (.doc) created with Microsoft Word 97...  What can i do to get access to these files?
    thanks in advance!

    I had too many of these that I had to convert to a modern format. It isn't easy or consistent but one of these normally works:
    1. Open up Word and use the File/Open command rather than just double clicking on the file. Why does this sometimes work? I don't know! Save in docx format.
    2. Try opening the files in Office 2010 on a Windows machine. Again, immediately save as a docx file. This works more often than the advice above.
    3. Download the free LibreOffice and try opening it there. There will be some format problems but easily fixed. Once again, save in docx format.
    4. Breakdown and look for a dedicated format converter.

  • Why do i need a newer version of number to open a file created on the present version?

    I have numbers 09 version2.3 (554).  It keeps telling me I need to buy an update to open a file i created weeks ago.  Why is this?  I have no updates pending.  Help?

    Check to see if you have a Numbers in your main Applications folder and another in a subfolder named iWork '09 within Applications. If so the Numbers in the main Applications folder is the latest version 3, while the version in the subfolder is Numbers 2.  Try opening the document with the version of Numbers you find in the main Applications folder.

  • I can't open rtf files created using the 'touch' command in Terminal

    I don't know much about CLI but I like to play with my tech. When I create an RTF file using
    touch foo.rtf
    it creates the file but when I try and open it, it just says "The document “foo.rtf” could not be opened."
    What's the deal?

    Answered Here on StackOverflow:
    As you've likely discovered, touching a nonexistent file will create a zero-byte file with the name you specify. (touch is also used to update the modification time on an existing file. Seeman touch for further details.)
    The problem you're running into is that though a completely empty file is valid HTML, text, or Markdown, it is not valid RTF—this is true of many file formats, actually, which are structured in a particular way and require some data to be present be valid.
    Based on my experimentation, the bare minimum RTF file appears to be
    {\rtf1}
    If you'd like to create a blank RTF file from the shell, try this:
    echo '{\rtf1}' >Foo.rtf
    Note the above will overwrite Foo.rtf if it exists.

  • How to open PDF file located on the SD card?

    The firefox browser has a cabability of opening the online PDF files. However, I cannot find a way to open the pdf files I have copied to the device's SD card via the USB connection.

    Hi,
    Thank you for this question, we don't yet have a way to read PDF files off of the sdcard on Firefox OS. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience. There is a new app for exploring the sdcard (for sharing), so hopefully we'll have an app for reading PDF files coming soon.

  • How to open different files depending on the case

    Hi
    I have 3 cases within a case structure.
    When I select a first case, I need a certain VI to start.(I have done this by just dragging the VI within that case)
    But when I select the 2nd case, I need to an executable file to pop up, but I am not able to drag it within the case structure beacuse when I select something other than a than a vi, it gives me the follwing error.
    LabVIEW: File is not a resource file
    The file Test.exe cannot be loaded.
    Also, I need to open a text file, if I choose the 3rd case. I am not able to this also, as I end up getting the same error.
    Can someone help me to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    To call an executable you will have to use "System Exec.vi"
    To open text file you can use same "System Exec.vi" and give path of text file to open to "Command Line" input of the vi.
    Read help file so as to understand the function of "System Exec.vi"

  • How can I recover files created in the guest account?

    I set up a guest account for the kids to use, and my wife then used my Mac to type up a word document (for over 3 hours) and saved it at the end of the evening. The next day she returned, and it had gone! I now read that the "Guest account" deletes all files when the computer is switched off (what idiot decided to make this deletion so immediate and so permanent, I am perplexed, why not at least put them in a temporary folder?).
    This document must still be there, surely, just "invisible". Please please, how can I get it back without parting with hundreds of pounds for file recovery document, it is just one file from yesterday!
    (I switched from PCs to Mac's when we bought a new Vista laptop at work and couldn't find the "file" and "open" commands on a drop-down menu top-left of screen - the Mac-fans at work promised me that Macs were "so intuitive" and "so much better than a PC". They lied. Macs and PCs are both designed by geeky-types who want more and more complex systems, when all I want is a computer that does what I ask without too much clever stuff (like deleting 3 hours of work because my wife happened to be in the wrong account). I have wasted as long trying to find said file....I'm so depressed.

    Paul -
    I'm sorry you've lost files, but when you set up an account as Guest, there's a message that clearly states "When a guest user logs out, all information and files in the guest account's home folder are deleted". If you want an account where files are retained, you should create an Admin or Standard type.
    You will need to use data recovery techniques to see if your file can be recovered. The more that you use your computer, the greater the risk that the file will be overwritten. You can contact a professional data recovery service such as DriveSavers (which will be expensive, but you can judge the value of the file) or try something like Data Rescue. The latter has a demo which you can install to determine if your file can be recovered, and then, on purchase, you can actually recover the file.
    Good luck!

  • How do I open Freehand files created in  OS 9 in  OS 10?

    I had a G3 with OS 9. I created all my artwork in Adobe FreeHand 10. I now have a G4 with OS 10
    and I have no idea how to open my files. Can anyone help me please?

    1) "Version of QuickTime installed in MAC OS 9 folder used by Classic is not recommended. Install 6.0.3 or later." but when I check my computer, QT is version 7.6.4.
    QT 7.6.4 would be what OSX is using, not OS 9 (Classic).
    Just for clarification -
    Classic sort of is OS 9, yet isn't. When it is used as a boot OS (when it is running the Mac), it is termed OS 9. When it is used as a program while OSX is running the machine (in order to provide an environemnt in which many OS 9-only programs can be run), it is called Classic.
    On machines which are OS 9-bootable, the install used for Classic is a full OS 9 System Folder.
    On those machines which are not OS 9-bootable, such as yours, the Classic install is an abbreviated one - it is not as complete as a full OS 9 install would be, yet will work fine as Classic.
    The folder containing the software used for Classic may be named just "System Folder" on those machines which can boot both using either OS 9 or OSX, or it might be called something similar on those which are OSX-bootable only.
    You should look in that folder, the one used for/by Classic, for the versions of software used by Classic. If you also have a folder named Applications (OS 9), there may be a Utilities folder in it which could contain QuickTime for OS 9.
    I suspect that you do have Classic installed; and also have QT 6.0.3 available for it. The messages you've provided usually would be those generated in response to OSX trying to use the System Folder on the OS 9 Install CD as Classic, which can not be done (in order for OSX to be able to use an OS 9 System Folder as Classic it must update/add some files to it; however, since an install CD is non-writable that can't be done, so an 'I can't do that' message results).
    Why would OSX try to use the System Folder on the OS 9 Install CD as Classic? That kind of behavior has been around for a long time, since before OSX. When a program needed to open a file is not already running and available, the OS looks first on the volume (disk) containing the file for such a program, and, if it finds one, will attempt to use it (if it finds none, it will then look on the boot volume/drive). The OS is not smart enough to try looking elsewhere when that attempt fails.
    The solution for that is to have a suitable program already running and available. In this case, starting up Classic using the Classic pane in System Preferences would prevent OSX from trying to use the System Folder on thre CD as Classic.
    However, if you already have Classic installed (which appears to be the case), then you have no need to attempt to re-install it from that OS 9 Install CD (which can't be done anyway).

    although i ran GBX6 under 10.5.8, i do believe an intel processor is required. that means that the only complete solution would be a new computer, i'm afraid.
    the best you could do is export each track as an audio file from GBi and drop them into your GBX project

  • Why can't I open PDF files created in Adobe X using Adobe XI? How do I fix this?

    Why can't I open PDF files created using Adobe X in Adobe XI?

    I try and open them in Reader (double left click on the file) and all I get is a single screen with two overlapping frames neither of which have anything to do with the subject although the presentation title is at the top.  One of the frames had "Adobemail.com" on it. Our work computers were recently up-graded to Adobe XI and this was the first time I tried to open a presentation that has worked fine in the past.  I would have thought that Adobe XI would have been backward  compatible, but it doesn't seem so. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have an 08:00 First-Aid class tomorrow and need this presentation.  Apparently Adobe forums are off-line for up-grades.  Thanks
