How to deploy a servlet on the internet

Hi all, Please, i'll like to know if anyone has ever hosted a servlet. I'm not new to java but new to servlets. I already deployed my servlet using j2ee 1.4 and everything works perfectly on lacalhost but i'm stuck trying to upload it online. I have an apache server so where should i put the .ear file and others..

I finally got deployed the servlet on my server but still have a little problem.. It works perfectly well on Internet Explorer but on mozilla firefox, it comes out in html code form like dis:

For testing purpose you can deploy your servlet in the following directory,
$COMMON_TOP/java/oracle/apps/fnd/test
The standard testing servlet can be accessed from

I realise I'm posting twice and I'm sorry, but I realised I had another question. How do I download ANYTHING from the internet? With AIM I could just use iChat. But I'm wanting to download some other stuff...but when I click on the icon to install it on my desktop, Microsoft Excel pops open and it won't install. Please Help!

You can create a java.net.URL that points to the file you want to "extract" and read the HTML code (or what ever that file contains) from there using the inputstream given by URL.openStream().
The difference between images and text... well, images are embedded in html using the img-tag. example: <IMG src="http://forum.java.sun.com/images/reply.gif" alt="Reply">. Attributes width, height, alt are sometimes left out and there may or may not be quotes around the values and everything is case insensitive... you'll be having hard time trying to parse the input so I'd suggest using existing parsers.
What are you trying to do anyway? You can load a URL directly to a JTextEditorPane with the setPage(URL page) method...

Whenever I try to download an application off the intenet it comes up with a pop-up giving me two options, to either save the file or sleect which applciation to open with, when I save the file it saves to my desktop, and when I double click it it opens up with text edit, and is just pages and pages of weird letters and symbols, and I've tried most of my applciations and it never works. If the file extension is .EXE, you are downloading Windows compatible software, you need software that is Mac compatible. What software are you attempting to download?

How to install
When you click a link, a download of the installer file occurs to your Downloads Folder usually located next to your Trash Can or in your Users Folder.
Open the folder and double click (or File: Open) the download and icon can appear on your desktop which you open and inside is a installer package which you double click on to launch the installer.

I have no idea what the "freezer fix" is, nor why anyone would think temporary exposure to cold will somehow fix a hardware issue with a 100% solid state device. Also, actually freezing your iPhone may very well itself cause damage.
If you dropped it and wifi immediately failed to work, the odds are you inflicted physical damage to it - perhaps the antennae connection internally. You could try a simple reset and see if that helps, but if not, you need to take it into Apple for an evaluation and diagnosis.
If it has internal damage, since you dropped it, your warranty no longer applies. Apple does not repair iOS devices, the merely swap them for factory refurbished units (and send your damaged one back to the manufacturer in China for refurbishment or recycling). You would ahve to pay the out of warranty replacement fee (look on your country's Apple web site, under support for the iPhone for fees).

but make sure that you have proper GPRS connection, once you have that it will automatically set the IP address!!
if you are in india then there is two kind of GPRS service avail one is normal GPRS and other is Advance GPRS

However, I still don't quite get it.
The links you stated say that I would have to contact my carrier to enable a certain "Tethering"-option, whatever that is. This would cost me another 5€ extra per MONTH for an option that I probably don't need at all - I don't need tethering or anything, just internet-dialup.
I guess they can't charge a monthly fee for a phone feature
To make it clear:
I don't need extra data volume (I got a flat already), so there is no need upgrade my tariff. I only want to connect my phone to my macbook and to dialup to the internet, just like I did with my former phones.
No "Tethering" or whatever needed, just Internet dial-up. How do I do that?
