How to deploy an EJB to Oracle9iAS installed into another machine?

When I try to deploy a statless ejb to a local machine where JDeveloper is installed every thing works fine. However, when I try to deploy it into another machine where Oracle9iAS(oc4j) is installed,I get the following error:
Error: javax.naming.NamingException: Lookup error: java.io.EOFException: Disconnected; nested exception is:
java.io.EOFException: Disconnected
Can anybody help?
thanks
Ali

I got problem when I deloy ejb in Oracle JDeveloper: I created jar file and delpoyed the jar, but when I tried to call the bean from client code I got "connection refused" error. I tried to created a connection to Application server, it asked me to enter userid/password. Since I use the embeded OC4J as my server now, I never set userid/password for the OC4J, so I left the fields empty, but I cannot create the connection.
Please let me know what should I do to get my ejb deployed. Thank you.

  • How to get a value from one item into another

    How can i get value from one item into another item.
    Ex: I have a report, in there i have check boxes, and when i have checked some rows, and press submitt, a prosses computates it into a item on another page, and a branche redirects to page 3. Then i'm going to use the value in the item into a PL/SQL script in an report to show the submittet items.
    How can i do this?
    Computation script, pages and all that is fixed. But i dont know which PL/SQL statement to use to get th value from the item.

    Hi Fredr1k,
    Use the V() function from pl/sql.
    e.g. V('P3_MY_ITEM')
    will return the value of that page item.
    As long as the pl/sql is called from within the Apex environment.

  • How to deploy 2 EJB's in separate jars

    Hi,
    I have successfully deployed 2 session ejb's in the same jar file, i.e. with one ejb-jar.xml and one weblog-ejb-jar.xml. And get get the ejb's to communicate with each other.
    Now I want to be able to compile and deploy the 2 ejb's in separate jar files as part of an ear file.
    My method so far is this:
    I have split the ejb-jar.xml file into two, for each ejb, and also the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file into two for each ejb.
    I then compiled the ejb source files and packaged each ejb up with its respective deployment descriptors into two separate .jar files.
    I then want to run weblogics ejbc on each .jar file in turn so that the resultant .jar files (with newly created stubs/skels) can be packaged into an .ear to be easily deployed into weblogic.
    I try and run the ejbc command on the first of the .jar files and i get the error:
    ERROR: Error from ejbc:
    In ejb-jar.xml, the EJB 'SessClient' contains an invalid ejb-link in ejb
    -ref 'ejb/SessLogHome'. No EJB with ejb-name 'IntellectStateless.jar#SessLog' co
    uld be found.
    ERROR: ejbc found errors
    My ejb-jar.xml file for this ejb is:
    <ejb-jar>
      <enterprise-beans>
        <session>
          <ejb-name>SessClient</ejb-name>
          <home>intellectsession.sessiontwo.SessClientEntHome</home>
          <remote>intellectsession.sessiontwo.SessClientEnt</remote>
          <ejb-class>intellectsession.sessiontwo.SessClientEntBean</ejb-class>
          <session-type>Stateless</session-type>
          <transaction-type>Container</transaction-type>
          <ejb-ref>
            <ejb-ref-name>ejb/SessLogHome</ejb-ref-name>
            <ejb-ref-type>Session</ejb-ref-type>
            <home>intellectsession.stateless.SessLogHome</home>
            <remote>intellectsession.stateless.SessLog</remote>
            <ejb-link>IntellectStateless.jar#SessLog</ejb-link>
          </ejb-ref>
        </session>
      </enterprise-beans>
      <assembly-descriptor>
        <container-transaction>
          <method>
         <ejb-name>SessClient</ejb-name>
         <method-name>*</method-name>
          </method>
          <trans-attribute>Required</trans-attribute>
        </container-transaction>
      </assembly-descriptor>
    </ejb-jar>and both of my .jar files are in the same directory when I run the ejbc command.
    I'm sure this can be done but I just think i'm not doing it in the right order maybe??
    Anyway pointers will be gr8ly appreciated.
    Cheers

    Okay here is the solution to how to achieve the problem I encountered above:
    I am compiling my ejb.jar files using the weblogic.ejbc compiler, obviously I am deploying on weblogic here.
    This section:
    <ejb-ref>
      <ejb-ref-name>ejb/SessLogHome</ejb-ref-name>
      <ejb-ref-type>Session</ejb-ref-type>
    <home>intellectsession.stateless.SessLogHome</home>
      <remote>intellectsession.stateless.SessLog</remote>
      <ejb-link>IntellectStateless.jar#SessLog</ejb-link>
    </ejb-ref>must have JUST the <ejb-link/> tag removed from the ejb-jar.xml file. And then the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file MUST look like this:
    <weblogic-ejb-jar>
        <weblogic-enterprise-bean>
            <ejb-name>SessClient</ejb-name>
            <reference-descriptor>
              <ejb-reference-description>
                <ejb-ref-name>ejb/SessLogHome</ejb-ref-name>
                <jndi-name>SessLog</jndi-name>
              </ejb-reference-description>
            </reference-descriptor>
            <jndi-name>SessClient</jndi-name>
        </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    </weblogic-ejb-jar>Note the <refererence-descriptor> tag as the important part.
    After these changes, the 2 ejb.jar files can be compiled using the weblogic.ejbc tool, thus supplying the stubs/skels, and then the resultant two ejb.jar files can be added to the EAR file and deployed to weblogic.
    Result: 2 ejb's in separate jars, in one EAR file, talking to each other.

  • How to deploy the EJB which used Japanese word on Weblogic server

    Hi All,
    I am running a test on WIN 2K pro Japanese system. When I deploy an ejb bean with
    using Japanese character in the Java src code and also in ejb-jar.xml file, some
    exceptions were thrown.
    I am thinking that the weblogic cann’t pass ejb-jar.xml which is encoding as UTF-8
    but with Japanese character. Could you please let me know how to configure the
    Weblogic to solve the problem or to encode the ejb-jar.xml differently?
    Any suggestion will be welcome.

  • How to deploy an EJB that uses TopLink (w/o including all the TopLink libs)

    This might be a basic question. Sorry !
    When my EJB uses TopLink libraries, is there a way to deploy the EJB without having to include the TopLink jars in the deploying JAR/EAR file ?
    Is there a way to make sure TopLink libraries are accessible commonly to all the applications on the app server ?
    Thanks,
    Krishna

    I think I got how to do this.
    I ave to use the "application.xml" file which is the global application.xml file for all applications on that OC4J instance.
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/java/oc4j/doc_library/902/A95880_01/html/advanced.htm#1015123
    Gotta add all the common libraries to that file. for example:
         <library path="C:\OraHome1\toplink\core\lib\toplink.jar" />
         <library path="C:\OraHome1\toplink\core\lib\xerces.jar" />
         <library path="C:\OraHome1\toplink\core\lib\antlr.jar" />
         <library path="C:\OraHome1\toplink\hsql\lib\hsqldb.jar" />

    You may need to convert the .war archive to SDA/SCA file  format before deploying it to SAP Netweaver Engine.
    Check out the below SAP NOTE if it is usefull.
    Note 1223957 - Usage of NetWeaver Packaging Tool.
    Apart from SDM you can also deploy the files through telnet...
    Note 859444 - How to deploy libraries on J2EE Engine 6.40
    1)Connect to telnet as below
    Start --> Run
    telnet hostname/ip address portno
    Ex: telnet xxx.xx.xx.x 5<Instance no>08
    2)Login with administrator id:
    Use the below command to deploy the files.
    deploy <directory path to the SDAs location> version_rule=all on_prerequisite_error=stop on_deploy_error=stop
    Example: deploy E:\usr\sap\trans\EPS\in\VCBASE03_0-10006939.SCA version_rule=all on_prerequisite_error=stop on_deploy_error=stop.
    Also have a look at this note which talks about the error you are getting.
    Note 1171457 - IllFormattedSduManifest/SduFileException during deployment
    Hope it helps.

  • How To Deploy/Run a pure Java Portlet into Webcenter

    Hello Gurus,
    I am new to the portal technologies. So maybe I am asking a very basic question.
    Here it what I would like to achieve.
    1) Create a sample "HelloWorld" portlet (A java class which implements a portlet interface or some standard portlet impl class) and I use doView() method to show "Hello World" content on the screen.
    I need to deploy and test this portlet class into Webcenter. I have JDeveloper as IDE.
    2) Create a sample JSP page which prints "Hello World" content. Convert this into JSR-168 and then deploy and run into Webcenter.
    Please can anyone provide the easiest steps to achive this? Step-by-step instructions will be highly appreciated as this is bit urgent.
    Thanks in advance for any help you can provide on this.
    With kind regards-
    Ashish

    Hello,
    Yes, I`m working with 10g.
    I've used enterprise Manager to deploy the portlet. I`ve selected "create automatic deploy plan"
    The portlet was deployed but I can´t see WSRP interface as http://localhost:8888/WSRPMapPortlet/portlets?WSDL
    As yo can see, I´m deploying WSRPMapPortlet sample.
    I can´t use JDeveloper in my job :(
    Maybe I must do any configuration change to deploy correctly the portlet and expose it in WSRP, I don´t know
    Best Regards

  • How can I move part of one photo into another photo?

    In older versions of Photoshop you could see two or more frames in the work area and cut an paste parts of one photo into another photo by using the "move" tool after the area to be moved was selected. I am having trouble discerning how to achieve this action in CC. Could someone in the forum with this experience give me some steps to take to complete this process? Thanks.

    Thanks Trevor!

  • How to move an icon from one Pic into another Pic?

    Hello,
    I haven't seen this question addressed so forgive me if this was already discussed.
    I like to know how I can place a small smiley icon (pic) into another existing photo. In Photoshop Elements (be it 4.0 or 6.0) if I drag the the picture into Elements, it shows up and place it in the project bin. Here's the problem, when I drag the smiley icon onto the picture (which is already shown in Elements) it creates another window for the smiley icon and project bin instead of affixing itself onto the pic.
    Yes, I can use Ctrl-A to copy the smiley face and then drag it onto the pic. But when I use Paint.net (a free program) it does exactly that asking me to confirm that I want to create a new layer. The difference is that with Paint.net I can drag 2 pics from the desktop and add them together within seconds. With Elements I have to do an extra step and, this extra step just seems unnecessary.
    Is there a way to simply drag the smiley face onto the pic without creating another window (using Elements)?

    These 2 pics should further show/explain what I am talking about as I am not sure of the proper name for this process.

    public String get() {
         FileReader fr;

              String str;
              BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(fr);
              try {
                   while((str= br.readLine())!=null){

         return generate;
    where generate is a string declared globally.
    how to go about it?
    Thanks for your reply in advance

    If you want to copy files as fast as possible, without processing them (as the DOS "copy" or the Unix "cp" command), you can try the java.nio.channels package.
    import java.nio.*;
    import java.nio.channels.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    import java.text.*;
    class Kopy {
         * @param args [0] = source filename
         *        args [1] = destination filename
        public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
            if (args.length != 2) {
                System.err.println ("Syntax: java -cp . Kopy source destination");
                System.exit(1);
            File in = new File(args[0]);
            long fileLength = in.length();
            long t = System.currentTimeMillis();
            FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream (in);
            FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream (args[1]);
            FileChannel fci = fis.getChannel();
            FileChannel fco = fos.getChannel();
            fco.transferFrom(fci, 0, fileLength);
            fis.close();
            fos.close();
            t = System.currentTimeMillis() - t;
            NumberFormat nf = new DecimalFormat("#,##0.00");
            System.out.print (nf.format(fileLength/1024.0) + "kB copied");
            if (t > 0) {
                System.out.println (" in " + t + "ms: " + nf.format(fileLength / 1.024 / t) + " kB/s");
    }

    Hi, Senthil.
    This Forum is not a general discussion forum.
    You don't believe that the InDesign SDK is a general purpose API. Do you?
    I think you must post issues like this where they belong, in this case in a Microsoft Word Forum.
    Best regards.

  • How do I insert part of one image into another in Elements 8?

    I am testing Elements 8 and would like to, for example, take an eagle from one image and insert it into another.  I've done this with other editing programs, but can't see how to do it here.  If one is to use layers, then I have another problem.  How does one open layers from more than one image in the palettes?

    You can only view the layers of one image at a time. I believe E8's default setting is a maximized setting which allows for only one image in the workspace. If you change the setting in the menu to Cascade, you can have several images open in your workspace. I believe, that's under Window<Arrange.  The layer's palette will display whichever image is currently selected.
    There are several ways to do it. Here are a couple...
    Copy/Paste...
    One way is to select the eagle with a selection tool...magnetic lasso whatever...then copy the eagle into your clipboard. Edit<copy. (Shortcut = Ctrl + C on PC; Cmd + C on Mac).
    Open the second image then paste. (Shortcut = on PC Ctrl + V; on Mac Cmd + V). This will add the eagle to the current image. Use the move tool to position the eagle.
    Drag/Drop...
    Alternately, change window<Arrange in the menu bar to Cascade. This will allow you to have more than one image in your workspace.
    Open both images. Select eagle with a selection tool. Once selected, switch to the move tool. Drag eagle into second image.
    Alternately, you could also lift the eagle to it's own layer then drag it over using the move tool. Release the mouse button when you are over the second image to drop the eagle. (Shortcut to lift selected eagle from the background to it's own layer = on PC Ctrl + J; on Mac = Cmd + J.)
    Note: Both images should be the same or close to same resolution. The image that is dragged will adjust (resize) to match the background image resolution. (Low resolution images dragged into high resolution images are tiny whereas high resolution images dragged into low resolution images would be huge).

  • How to include jsps's of one application into another

    Hi people,
    I want to include a jsp from one web application into another. I have specified in the web.xml in Tomcat/conf directory that both the applications are "crosscontext=true". But tomcat fails to include the jsp from the other web application. It always tries to look for that resource with respect to the context of the current application.
    Any idea how do I go about it. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Subhadeep De.

    In the standard Sun JSTL tag library there is a tag that will include the output of the jsp in your jsp. I beleive the tag is called "include" or "import" but I forget the exact name. I also believe that you'll have to pass any needed parameters.
