  • How to deploy a secured ADF 11g application to WebLogic 10.3 server?

    Hi,
    I have just enabled security in our ADF 11g application, as descripbed in [chapter 29|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/adding_security.htm#insertedID0] of the Fusion Developer's Guide. It works fine in the embedded WebLogic server of JDeveloper.
    Now I'm trying to deploy to our WebLogic 10.3 server, which runs in production mode. I'm running into all sorts of problems. The WebLogic console seems to have hundreds of security related pages, I don't know which one I should use, let alone how to use it. The Fusion Developer's Guide doesn't cover deployment to a production server:
    >
    When the target server is configured for production mode, you typically handle the migration task outside of JDeveloper using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager. For details about using tools outside of JDeveloper to migrate the policy store to the domain-level in a production environment, see the [Oracle Fusion Middleware Security Guide|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/core.1111/e10043/toc.htm].
    >
    However, this guide is of very little help to me. I found [chapter 7|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/core.1111/e10043/addlsecfea.htm#insertedID0], which says "The recommended tool is Fusion Middleware Control." I have no idea what "Fusion Middleware Control" is, where to get it and how to use it.
    Long story short: I'm totally lost. I'm looking for a step by step guide on how to deploy a secured ADF 11g application to a WegLogic 10.3 server that is running in production mode. Any help is highly appreciated.

    Ok, I found a [very helpful blog post |http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2009/01/practical-adf-security-deployment-on.html] by [Andrejus Baranovski|http://www.blogger.com/profile/04468230464412457426]. I wish Oracle's documentation was as clear as this...
    The blog post refers to an article by Steve Muench, called [Simplified ADF 11g Application Credential and Policy Migration to Standalone WebLogic Servers|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/credmig111100/index.html]. This article presents an Ant script that migrates policies from JDeveloper to WebLogic, using some PFM. (See the last definition here.)
    The problem is that Steve Muench's script assumes that JDeveloper and the standalone WebLogic are on the same machine. However, in a typical environment, such as the one I'm working in currently, this is not the case. In our case the developer stations are Windows machines, while our WebLogic server runs on a HP-UX machine. So the question is: how to perform this migration between two machines with different operating systems?

    sudhakar.m

    Hi Sudhakar,
    If you are used to working with ant then you can very well use eclipse to deploy your web service.
    You would usually have the ant script in the source root working directory. From eclipse if you select the build file from the navigator view and right click you will see a run ant option in the pop up menu.
    Select that option and you would be able to see each targets with a checkbox select option. So define each target maybe one for wsdl2java conversion, one for compilation and one for deploying your web services. You can either make all of them run by having depends option on or you can run them individually as it takes your fancy.
    I am not sure about debugging a web service yet.
    Hope this helps

  • PL/SQL web service - how to use XML schema to define inputs/outputs?

    Hello,
    let us say I want to publish a PL/SQL web service. The package spec that I want to expose is:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE myWebService AS
      FUNCTION loadResults(
        username   IN VARCHAR2,
        password   IN VARCHAR2,
        resultData IN XMLType)
      RETURN XMLType;
    END;When I use JDeveloper's wizard to publish my PL/SQL web service, the resulting WSDL contains this:
    <schema
        xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
        xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"
        xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
        xmlns:soap11-enc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
        xmlns:tns="http://uk/co/weatherbys/aapws/AAPWS.wsdl/types/"
        targetNamespace="http://uk/co/weatherbys/aapws/AAPWS.wsdl/types/"
        elementFormDefault="qualified">
        <element name="loadresultsElement">
            <complexType>
                <sequence>
                    <element name="username" type="string" nillable="true"/>
                    <element name="password" type="string" nillable="true"/>
                    <element name="resultdata" nillable="true">
                        <complexType>

                </sequence>
            </complexType>
        </element>
        <element name="loadresultsResponseElement">
            <complexType>
                <sequence>
                    <element name="result" nillable="true">

                    </element>
                </sequence>
            </complexType>
        </element>
    </schema>It is specifying that anything at all can be passed in and out from the two XMLType arguments, which is fair enough: it has no way of knowing what I am expecting and what I shall return.
    My question is, how do I tell JDeveloper that actually I want either or both of those XMLTypes to conform to a particular XML schema?

    You cannot format the date as a string, unless you do the conversion on the PL-SQL side, before you use it in your WebService mapping. It should be handled as a string.
    The only way to convert the XML from SOAP, using this encoding, into literal XML is to apply XSLT to the payload. Not sure why you would like to do this, as the payload should be consumed by another SOAP-awared stack.
    Hope this helps,
    Eric

  • How to deploy JAR as a Web Service

    Hi,
    I am new to BPEL and interested in building Web Services using BPEL. For this I am using Oracle BPEL Process Manager(JDeveloper).
    I have a standalone Java application (which I run from command prompt) and ant script which generates the JAR file. Can I deploy this JAR as a web service using Oracle BPEL.
    I have seen the examples given by Oracle BPEL and it was mentioned that using WSIF we can create WSDL file for our java class and call this WSDL as a partner link in my BPEL process. But how should I replicate it to my application.
    Can you please direct me in proceeding further.
    Thanks

  • XML scheme and Web services enhancement for MS Word integration in CRM 2007

    Hi,
    I am trying to use the Template designer and the web services tool in order to create a MS Word template for the quotation.
    We have created a new web service, using the Web Service Tool
    (transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB, type WS_DESIGN_TOOL). I can use this web service when creating a quotation word template and everything works fine.
    I need to enhance the web service with some custom fields and logic. I found the blog:
    Web-services enhancement for MS Word integration in CRM 2007
    /people/community.user/blog/2008/11/18/web-services-enhancement-for-ms-word-integration-in-crm-2007
    The blog describe how to enhance the web service, extend the output
    structure etc.
    We have done all the steps in the blog, and everything looks fine. When
    we test the web service, using the Web Service Navigator, all the new
    fields we added to the output structure are displayed. The WSDL
    document also looks fine, displayed from the Web Service
    Administration.
    The problem occur when try to create the word template using the
    Template Designer. The XML scheme is not displayed in the word
    document. This only happens if we use an enhanced web service.
    Anyone familiar with this issue?
    Kind regards,
    Johan Wigert

    Hi,
    You may have to upgrade your MS word 2003 to MS Word 2007.
    Before you do that please opening View > toolbars > Task Pane and check if you can get XML Schema from the web service.

  • ClassNotFound error during deployment of ADF fusion web applications

    Hi All,
    We have a fusion ADF web application to be deployed on a stand alone weblogic server. The weblogic server has the default AdminServer and one more extended domain. Both the domains have got ADF runtime libraries installed. When the EAR file is deployed on AdminServer using weblogic administration console, the app works perfectly fine. However, when we try to deploy the same EAR file on the other domain, we get the following error:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/jdeveloper/db/adapter/DatabaseProvider.
    This is being referenced by connections.xml in ADF-META-INF. If we include the corresponding jar file in our class path, the app runs fine.
    I have the following doubts:-
    1) Is the error due to the fact that we missed any of the steps for configuring ADF runtime libraries on the extended domain. If not, any particular reason for this error?
    2) Our application uses data sources for connections and we have configured AM's and the weblogic server for the same. I understand that connection information for every AM is stored in bc4j.xcfg. In such a case, do we need connections.xml that is automatically included in the EAR file. If this is not needed, any steps to exclude it during deployment.

    This is what I am trying to figure out what is the best way. I am not worrying about making the SQL Server part of my install, we are going to leave that up to the client. I already have the script to create the DB, I am just trying to find the best way to deliver the data to the SQL Server. Like I said I have T-SQL scripts with insert statements but they end up being huge. I am looking at maybe using ApexSQL Script, as it can make an .exe file that creates the DB and installs the data, but it give me an out of memory error because we have so much data.

  • How to deploy different projects to one application server?

    I just move to Weblogic from SOA Suite. This might be a stupid question.
    I install Weblogic Service Bus, Jdeveloper 11g, and Weblogic portal.
    If I do projects in Service Bus, Jdeveloper 11g, and Protal at the same time, should I start 3 servers?
    Can I just start one server and deploy all projects to it?
    For example, I create several ADF projects in Jdeveloper 11g and deploy them to the Weblogic server.
    However, I want to integrate these ADF project using weblogic Service Bus.
    How can I do this?
    Sincerely

    When I refer to applications deployed to the same server having "conflicts", I refer to the fact that you're deploying multiple allegedly independent applications to the same Java virtual machine. The JEE specification and WebLogic's implementation come pretty close to isolating those separate applications, but it's impossible to completely isolate them. One obvious potential conflict is the "context root" of web applcations. If two web applications are deployed to a server that have the same context root, then that is a clear conflict. Only one of the applications will be initiated with a reference to the context root URL.
    By context root, in a URL like "http://somewhere.com/myurl", the string "myurl" is the context root. Only one deployed web application can use that context root, as it would be impossible to tell which application is intended, otherwise.
