How to detect what's using port 8080

I'm getting this error when runing my ANT script:
[java] LifecycleException: service.getName(): "Catalina"; Protocol handler start failed: java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind:8080
wonder how can I tell what's using port 8080.
thanks

    Hi Eddie,
    As Arjit suggested, there are a bunch of functions available in WEBI like GetDominantPreferredViewingLocale(), GetLocale() and GetPreferredViewingLocale(), etc. that you could use.
    There are no such specific functions provided within Dashboards tool.
    So, you can create a WEBI report, and have one of these formulas specified in a variable in the webi report. Then, have the block published as a BIWS and use this BIWS in your dashboard.

    For the browser issue you have to wait for the next build. It hasexactly the options your are asking for.
    You can see the server.xml we generate. After you start Tomcat take a
    look at the end of the first line in the Console view. The name of the
    file is there. You can copy it while the server is running.
    Would you mind being more specific about the third issue? Do you start
    Tomcat from inside NitroX by using the Run->Debug... menu or you are
    trying to attach to it?

    You can start with your own server.xml.
    Open Window->Preferences->NitroX->Server configurations.
    Select your configuration and press the Edit button.
    In the Configuration tab select Existing configuration file and enter
    the full path to it.
    Close the dialogs with OK.
    Start the debugger as usual.

    I'm using Tomcat 4.1 - and I need to use port 8070. I understand that

  • How to detect what keyboard is currently active on desktop?

    Hi there, I'm working on a virtual keyboard (window with buttons as keys) for my swing application. When I show keyobard window I would like to adjust the layout of my virtual keyboard to system keyboard that is currently active on desktop. But I don't know how to detect what keyboard is currently active. How to detect this? Thank you.

    I answered my own question - see
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Loading-and-Running-a-VI-on-a-cRIO-from-a-PC/td-p/796657
    On the Real-Time CompactRIO Properties > VI Server, you must check the box for TCP/IP protocol, which by default is unchecked.
    Also, when you make a Build Specification for a VI and set it to run on startup, you can still enter the VI name (not c:\ni-rt\startup\startup.rtexe) as the VI Path on the Open VI Reference.

  • How to determine what's using data store temp space?

    How can one determine what's using data store temp space? We are interested to know what structures are occupying space in temp space and if possible what pid/process connected to TimesTen created them.
    Also, is there a procedure that will work if temp space is full?
    Recently one of our data stores ran of space. We we're unable to run commands like "monitor", "select * from monitor", "select count(*) from my_application_table", etc. These commands failed because they required temp space to run and temp space was full. We killed the application processes, this in turned freed up temp space, then we were able to run these queries.
    Ideally, we'd like to have a procedure to figure out what's using temp space when temp space is full.
    The other thing we could do is periodically monitor temp space prior to it filling to determine what's using temp space.

    That was my original thought, but once you click the slider track or thumb, and then enter a value in the text control, the clickTarget on the change event envoked by the change to the bound data (after entering a value in the text control) will be whatever slider element had last been clicked. If you've never clicked the slider, clickTarget=null. But once you've clicked the slider the clickTarget always has a value of "thumb" or "track", regardless of what triggered the change event.

    How to Remove “Other” Data from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
    http://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-remove-other-data-from-iphone/
    With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

    Hi, I am new to labVIEW. I have a project that it requires me to develope a application to detect various types of  baby crying using labVIEW.The hardware we use will be webcam or kinect xbox 360. The system for my computer is windows 7. I used to try to create a threshold frequency to detect baby crying,but it not work well. So  I want to ask what else method should I use to develop this application that can differentiate baby crying with other kind of sound( like normal talk, music...) correctly? As I just start learning labVIEW, hope the method to be easy to understand. Thanks.

    This is not really a LabVIEW question, but a signal processing question. Do you have a set of crying sounds in order to be able to calibrate whatever algorthm you are trying to implement?

  • How to detect Browser Version using JSP ?

    Hi friends,
    Previously i have asked regarding browser detection.
    Now i want to inquiry regarding version detection.
    I have to block the users other than IE6+.
    So how i do that ??
    Remember : Other than IE6+ users are blocked.
    Please Help Me...

    well in general request.getHeader("user-agent"); should help you but in few cases it may not work in because of few security reasons.
    the best work around for this problem would be usage of javascript and sending browser realted information via hidden parameter
    and here is an example for you
    <body>
    <form name="sampleForm" action="randomAction">
       <input type="hidden" id="browserVersion" name="browserVersion" />
       <input type="hidden" id="userAgentHeader" name="userAgentHeader"/>
         <input type="hidden" id="appCode" name="appCode"/>
    </form>
    <script language="javascript">
      this.document.getElementById('browserVersion').value = navigator.appName+' '+navigator.appVersion;
       this.document.getElementById('userAgentHeader').value = navigator.userAgent;
       this.document.getElementById('appCode').value = navigator.appCodeName;
    </script>
    </body>and you would get the info by getting
    request.getParameter("appCode");and etc..
    hope this might help :)

  • How to send files between computers through 8080 port?

    I'm programming an application in JAVA and I need to send one file from my computer (in which I am) to another remote computer through port 8080 (I can configure and install what I want in this remote computer if needed).
    I'm thinking about using servlets and JSP but I don't know if this is the better solution and I don't know how to do it.
    I guess I could install a web server (tomcat) in the remote computer and make a servlet and a JSP (with a formulary to select a file). Then from my computer I could connect to the remote website and select a file, then make a submit, the servlet would proccess the request and it'd upload the file from my computer to remote computer (in which web server is hosted). The problem is that I don't know how the servlet can get the file from my computer and upload it to the remote computer.
    The idea is similar to email at Hotmail,Yahoo... when you select a file as and attachment and then it's uploaded to the server.
    Well, it seems complicated and I don't know if it's the best way to do it. But the most important it's that I can only use port 8080 (due to an intermediate proxy (in my computer side) that I can't configure).
    Please, help, it's very urgent.

    I have a simple servlet class that should get you started.
    http://www.discoverteenergy.com/files/UploadServlet.java
    Here is the MultipartRequest class
    http://www.discoverteenergy.com/files/MultipartRequest.java
    (which was given to me by somebody and is similiar the one from oreilly that a lot of people use: http://www.servlets.com/cos/index.html
    The servlet will show you how to invoke the multipart request. Its one line really:
    MultipartRequest multi = new MultipartRequest(req, uploadDirectory, maxFileSize);
    Hope this helps.

  • Web server and apex running on same machine - port 8080 possible conflict

    Hi Guys,
    I have installed Apache Tomcat and currently in the process of installing Oracle 11G in the same machine.
    The tomcat is using port 8080 and I understand from other installs, that APEX uses 8080 as well.
    Is there way after installing Oracle 11G XE database, to shut down APEX so it doesn't conflict with Tomcat's use of 8080? I have no use for APEX at this point want to shut it down if its possible.
    Alternatively, can it be configured to use another port?
    Many thanks.

    You can do either, shut it down or change the port. So sad that you said you "have no use for Apex...". :(
    What gateway are you using for Apex? Is it the EPG, OHS or the Apex Listener? If you're using the EPG then there is a whole command structure/API for that. Here are a couple that you can run from a SQLPlus session:
    SELECT DBMS_XDB.GETHTTPPORT FROM DUAL;
    EXEC DBMS_XDB.SETHTTPPORT(port);
    For example:
    EXEC DBMS_XDB.SETHTTPPORT(8080);
    OR
    EXEC DBMS_XDB.SETHTTPPORT(8181);If you're using OHS then you go to your OHS/Apache directory and find the OPM path and issue your shutdown startup commands from there. If it's the Apex Listener with Glassfish then you go to the Glassfish admin console and shutdown your Apex deployment from there. Specifics I'll leave to you.

  • Trigger invalidations, how to detect cause?

    Hello,
    is it possible to somehow detect what causes object(PKG/PRC/FNC/TRG) invalidations?
    Application users doesn't have righst to compile the object. After invalidation object can be again successfuly recompiled by ALTER XXX COMPILE; command. For example we are using after logon trigger for application users, this trigger gets sometimes invalidated for no obvious reasons, users are unable to login to the database because they're hitting permission denied upon trying to compile this trigger. Any hints on how to detect what is the cause of these invalidations?
    Thank you,
    D.

    Hm, what if I found out that last DDL time with the latest date were the following objects:
    SYS.DBMS_STANDARD
    SYS.DICTIONARY_OBJ_NAME
    SYS.DICTIONARY_OBJ_TYPE

  • Running a web server along with Oracle XE - Port 8080 problem & solution

    Hi,
    My company is tight on computing power so we're using an older machine to run our Oracle XE instance and our Apache web server. The Apache server is using port 80 to host the website, while Oracle XE is using port 8080 for APEX.
    Initially this did not pose any problems, but as when our consultants were at clients sites they weren't able to access port 8080. This was a huge problem for us since we use APEX for our time sheet system.
    I could have used a 2nd computer to host the APEX engine on port 80 (if you want to know how to do this just search the forum), but I didn't have an extra machine at my disposal.
    After doing some reading I found that I could modify the Apache httpd.conf file (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf for linux systems) to handle this. I thought I'd post my results for others in the same situation:
    - #Search for the mod_proxy section and add the following:
    - ProxyRequests Off
    - #This maps the :8080/apex to :80/apex
    - ProxyPass /apex http://www.mydomain.com:8080/apex
    - ProxyPassReverse /apex http://www.mydomain.com:8080/apex
    - #This maps the :8080/i/ (for images) to :80/apex.
    - #YOU NEED THIS since all images and js calls reference the /i/ directory
    - ProxyPass /i http://www.mydomain.com:8080/i
    - ProxyPassReverse /i http://www.mydomain.com:8080/i
    - #Search for Alias and add the following:
    - #This is optional. It will allow a simple url for your users to access a common application
    - Redirect /myapps http://www.mydomain.com/apex/f?p=100
    Of course you can add some restirctions, and verification for the apache module to the conf above, but I thought I'd keep it basic for this example.
    Hope this helps others in the same sitation.
