How to determine the creation date/time for a file?

The important operating systems maintain both a creation date/time and last modified date/time for files. But in the File class there is only a lastModified() method. How does one determine the creation date/time for a file?

As far as i know, there is no way to know creation time, since it is a OS dependant information.

How to find the creation date for a released requests..

Hi friends ,
In se09 tcode , we a date which represents the last changed date .. Now , for a particular Released request i want to find out the Creation date for it . How can i find it . I checked the tables like E070create there also we have requests that not released yet , i have also checked se03 and other tcode and a fn mo dules like TR_READ_GLOBAL_INFO_OF_REQUEST .
So how to find the creation date for a released requests. Iam waiting for ur inputs..

How to get the creation date of an event/meeting

I need to implement some control rules on booking conference rooms depending on the creation date and start date.
For example:
- the booking cannot be accepted if the meeting start date is less than 2 hours ahead
at 3:00 PM I can book the conference room for a meeting starting at 5:05PM
but not for a meeting starting at 4:55PM
- the booking cannot be accepted after 5:30PM for a meeting starting the next morning before 10:00AM
at 5:45PM I can book the conference room for a meeting tomorrow at 11:00AM, but not for a meeting at 9:45AM

how to get the creation date of an event/meeting?When you use the calendar sdk to fetch a meeting there is an Icalendar(http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2445.txt) property called CREATED with the creation time in UTC.
For example:
- the booking cannot be accepted if the meeting start

You would want to implement these rules with with the sdk? That would implie that users connecting to the calendar server with any other client than the calendar sdk could still book these resources whenever they want.
Or you would want to go an validate all the meetings once they are already created?

I'm trying to find out the date (time stamp) using the
"uname -a" command , but I'm not sure this is the correct way , because the
the output of the command returns the kernel release date and I'm not sure this is the
correct time

I'm referring to the date the kernel was actually compiled .
My question was if the output of the command "uname -a" contains the kernel compilation date, because
the "man uname" and "info uname" says that the output contains kernel release info.
Or is there another way of determining the actual date(time) when the kernel was compiled.

How to determine the last backup time?

On my iPhone 4 I sync it to iTunes on my IMAC.
I hit backup and it says "Backing up my iPhone"
I then want to see the date and time of the last backup? How do I do that?
I right click on the iPhone in Itunes and select "Restore from Backup" and the
list shows a date/time of yesterday and then a selection that just shows the iPhone name. I can't see the backup (date/time) I just did.
As I understand it from reading the sync and backup are actually different so
I want to know the backup was successful and what timestamp is associated with that backup.

Am working on cproject version 3.1, wanted to know where the exact date & time is getting captured when a version i.e
con H & base versions is created in cprojects ( collaboration projects ).
Already i have checked in dpr_project table where versions are getting stored with the same project created date & time. But not with the actual date & time when the versions were created.
is there any BAPI or table where we can know the actual date & time of the created versions.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to change date format for ‘Created’ field in the getVersions web service.
Per my knowledge, you can get the date format for ‘Created’ field as “MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm a”.

How can I retrieve the date of the creation of a file?
It's picture I have scanned, I need to authentify it's date of creation.
Finder doesn't do it
A utility in Photoshope CS3 ( XMP ) doesn't seem reliable.
Is there any way I can retrieve with a utility , the code of the file and its date of creation?

To piggyback on the original question - do you know if is there a way (or a tool) that can change the Creation Date on the file to be the same date in the EXIF data? Often when I get a copy of an photo sent to me, it changes the creation date to be the date that it was downloaded. I want it to be the EXIF date since that was when it was actually taken.

This works just fine here (Windows XP, LabVIEW 8.5.1).
(Actually, if you look closely, it is off by one second. I guess the file properties dialog rounds in a different way )
Do you have more information? (e.g LabVIEW version, OS, etc.). Can you show us the code that fails?

The item property that the Get Info was opened for is read only, so it doesn't look like you can just throw a file path at it. You could do something like telling the Finder to reveal the item, then keystroke the command, e.g.:

1) How to find out the last execution time of the function module ?
say for eg. I have executed a func. module at 1:39pm. How to retrieve this time (1:39pm)
2) I have created 3 billing document in tcode VF01 i.e 3 billing doucment no. would be created in SAP TABLE "VBRP" b/w 12am to 12:30 am.
How to capture the latest SAP database update b/w time intervals?
3) Suppose I am downloading TXT file using "GUI_DOWNLOAD" and say in 20th record some error has happened. I can capture the error using the exception.
Is it possible to run the program once again from 21st records ? All this will be running in background...

2. See the billing documents are created in table VBRk header and there will always be Creation date and time.
VBRk-Erdat "date ., u can check the time field also
So now if u talk the date and time we can filter then display the records in intervals.
3. with an error exeption how is my txt download finished .
once exception is raised there will not be a download .

How to retrieve the creation date of clients ?

Dear all,
I have few DEV clients which are copied from Production clients. When want to perform client deletion I want to delete the oldest client in DEV. But which is the oldest client ?
Is there a table or tcode that can show me when are those DEV clients created ?
What I am doing now is very time consuming, i have to login to production, execute SCC3 and find out when is the client exported and what is the TR number. Then in DEV i execute SCC3 to find out which DEV is created with what TR number.
By doing this i will know
a.) The DEV client is a copy of PRD as per which date.
b.) and when is the DEV client created.
In SCC4, it has the information of when is the client changed, but not when it is created.
In SE16, table T000 refers to same info in SCC4 as well.
Your advice and input are highly appreciated.

Follow your steps, I got below output, but no "Data record created".
Parameters for Analysis:
         System ID:            PRD
         SAP Release:          700
         Client:               199
         Date :                28.05.2009
         Time:                 20:29:01

Selected Period
         From (date/time)      22.05.2005 00:00:00
         To (date/time)        28.05.2009 20:28:18
Selected Customizing Objects:
T000             S Clients
Analysis without archived log data
No logs found for the selected period
Then I clicked on "Logging: Display status" it says "Logging is switched off".
Questions
a.) This will only work when the logging is turn on, right ?
b.) Assuming the logging is turn on and i manage to get the creation info, at table level how do i retrieve the same info ? Because if I have 10 clients, i hope to see all the info and dates at one glance.

i scroll all the view and table of the Oracle RDBMS catalog and i didn't find how i can find when a column has been added to a table.

The column added is not the same date tehn the date of the table creation or the analyse column.
