How to develop Portlet - Create Page

Hi,
Does anyone know which APIs I can use to create a portlet for create portal page?
The user just need inform the "page name" and the portlet return the "page id", just it.
I need to do that because i don´t want give privilegies for the user .

Using Java 5, how to develop customizable web-pages like iGoogle ?

Is it possible to develop customizable web-pages like iGoogle does, using Java 5 ( simply using JSPs, servlets, JSFs, AJAX etc. and without using portals) ?
A simple example explaining how to provide 3-4 header graphics options ( like igoogle does) will be helpful. (iGoogle seems to create a cookie, which appears to be used to render the selected header-graphics).

Without using portals?
Google uses RSS feeds to compile their mashups on iGoogle. The positioning of those boxes are managed with AJAX and upon placement are saved into a session so they stay there for each visit after.
Please be a little more clear as to what you are looking for. Yes, it is possible to develop web pages using the technologies you specified to simulate something like iGoogle, so give us some more details on what exactly you're looking for.
Code wouldn't hurt either.

How to publish newly created pages

I have completely revamped my website and deleted the old home page and associated pages. How do I publish the new pages? I tried publishing changes but now my website just errors out. There must be a check box somewhere, "publish this page", to prevent unfinished pages from being published, etc. Pardon me, I'm an iWeb novice.

Everything in a Site is published the first time. iWeb doesn't know what unfinished pages are.
Two solutions.
1. Hide the unfinished page from the menubar. Inspector>First icon from the left. The page will be published but your visitors will not see it.
2. Create a second Site and drag the unfinished page there. Do not publish the Site.
There must be a check box somewhere, "publish this page",
It's in the menu: Publish Site. It is assumed without checking a box.

How i develope any single page by Express edition

As i have read about oracle Oracle Database 10g Express Edition, as fare i understand this is just like tool where you can make interface and have option at the same plcate to connect database as well,i want to develope any page/interface through this tool,could you please any body refere any document/link where may get any stuff to achive this.

Develope new OAF page in 11.5.9 without applying the patch 3262919

Could any one please tell me how to develop the OAF page on 11.5.9. The following are the details of the 11.5.9.

My client is not ready to apply the patch OA Framework Mini-pack 11i.FWK.H : (3262919). Is there any other way to devleop the new OAF page.
Its very urgent. Plssssssss help me in this issue.

OA Framework Version 5.7.H.V2 is very old and won't fetch you even the 30-40% of the latest version's capability. Development on this level won't be so useful.

Mandatory values on create page

Hi,
I am developing a create page in OAF to create records in a table that has few mandatory values.
When I click the 'Create' button on Search page I am taken to the create page and able to create records in table without issues.
When I click the 'Cancel' button on create page it doesn't let me cancel the execution unless I have filled all the mandatory values on the page.
Is there a way I can override this ?

Check the properties of the Cancel button.
Set the "Disable Client Side Validation" and "Disable Server side Validation" to true.
Note: Property names are from memory, should be something similar.

I am new to Oracle portal. i am using Oracle 3.0.
i am working on an application in portal. i have created n number of forms, reports, dynamic pages, menus, sub menus & lovs etc. currently i access my application in a raw manner. first login , then go to the navigator link then applications & click on menu.
my menu is a single entry point to my application. how can i publish this. i.e what i want to do is the moment user logs in he should straight away get the menu view.
I have read there is something by which we can create pages & publish them.
Could someone tell me how to create a page where i can drop my components such as menu , forms & reports on to it & then create a complete portal.
I can see a create page in my oracle portal but the moment i try to add a portlet in that page it gives me option for adding an appliction only what i want to add is the componenets(such as menus, forms etc) residing inside my application.
what it gives me is 2 options 1 to edit & the other to navigate the application only, here i can see my components but cannot include them in my page.

Hi,
First go to the navigator and click on the pages tab. From there click on create page link. Give the name of the page and finish with the page wizard. Then click on the created page from the navigator. Edit the page by clicking on the edit page link. Click on the "Add Portlet" icon and from there drill down into the application where the component is and then add it to the page. Make this page the default page for the users, who should see it when they log in.

its easy to do.
1.Create an application.
2.Publish it as Application Provider.
3.In that Application,create objects like dynamic pages,forms or report.
4.Publish Dynamic page as a portlet.
5.Create New Page or edit existing one.
6.Click on add portlet tab and you will see ur dynamic page name in the portlet repository List.
Thats it.

How can I add a custom attribute to the create page dialog?

I followed the following link to add a custom attribute called starred and this attaribute can be displayed in siteadmin grid

HT4641 I have recently upgraded to Pages 5.1. I can't open any of my previously created Pages docs because I am told they are too old and have to be saved in Pages'09 first. I don't have Pages '09. How do I open them?

I am technologically challenged senior citizen who recently upgraged to Pages 5.1 from what I think was iWorks '08. I now find that I am not able to open any of my important previously created Pages documents. I receive a pop-up that tells me that they are too old and must be saved in Pages'09 first. I no longer have the disk for iWorks 08 and don't have Pages '09 on my iMac. Any ideas how I might get these documents open?

You should have the old Pages '08 inside the iWork folder, inside your Applications folder.
Open your old files in Pages '08 > Menu > File > Export > Word
Pages 5 can then open that Word file.

How to use a single page for create and update mode.

I need to develop a single page to be used for both create and update modes.
I am going to use a variable MODE
and i will set this in the emp summary page.
Based on the button clicked by the user i have to render the JSF page.
For tis if the user selects a perticular and cliks on update thn i will pass the empno to the next.
so there in the next i will appy a ViewCreiteria on my View Obj to fetch only that row so that only that emp will be displayed ion update mode.
This is working fione for me.
So now the issue is
when the user clicks on CreatEmp button.
i need to enable my VO for insert operations.
for this i wrote the code like this in the beforePhase event

In my opinion you are over complicating things.
This is what I do for using the sme page as both create and update without all this code.
1) Create a browse page containing a an adf table with a select one component bound to your view object.
2) Create an additional edit page containing only an edit form containing fields of your view object that your users must enter in order to add or edit rows.
3) Link the pages in the JSF diagram with an "edit" navigation case from browse to edit page and a "return" navigation case from edit to browse (make sure that redirect option is NOT set on both cases)
4) Remove the submit button from the edit page and add two application module bindings for the commit and rollback operations as command buttons in the form footer facet. Make sure that both buttons has an action of return and that their disabled property is set to false. You will probably change their labels to ok and cancel respectively.
5) Drop a create action for your view object from the data control palette inside your page as a command button and set the action property to edit also.
3) Set the action property of the view button to edit
This should basically work without any code from your part. -- at least it does so for me -- if you like to make it a bit more funcy you may add am action listener inside your buttons and set a requeScope variable for example #{requestScope.editing} to true or false depending on the button clicked. Then add a title to your page with a value like #{requestScope.editing == true ? 'Editing record' : 'Adding a new record'}..

How do I create page breaks in iCloud Numbers? The spreadsheet I created is 4-5 pages long, but it saves as one long scrolling document, and when it prints, all 4-5 pages are seen (very small, unreadable font) on a single page. Any ideas?

This excel feature is not exactly available in Numbers.
Here we may create up to 255 sheets in a document. They are reachable from the thumbnails area.
And each sheet may embed up to 255 tables also reachable from the thumbnails area.
Think different or use Excel !

i've built a report by wizard with a sql-Query
the sql give me back for example 3 dataset
and the report prints 3 pages
dataset 1 - page 1
dataset 2 - page 1
dataset 3 - page 1
thats ok,
but now I need a second page per dataset ( with only a text )
so that the report should print 2 pages per dataset
dataset 1 - page 1 ,page 2
dataset 2 - page 1 ,page 2
dataset 3 - page 1 ,page 2
It's not really clear for me, what to do, to create the second page
any help ?
