How to develope a portal

I want to customize the Employee appraisal in Employee self service in mySAP ERP for my client.
How will i customise it according to my client's needs, like inputing the employee names, retieving data from tables, puting data to tables, setting up the GUI, etc.?
what are the steps?

              , user have to give userid and password of back end sap system to see particular report. i mean there is a first view ( this first view muust not be first screen of portal ) with userid and password fields . after gave his id and password he can go to second view to see the particualr details .please suggest me about how to do custom bapi code and , in also webdynpro java how to develop .
           i know about sso. in this concept i have to use through webdynpro java only. no need of sso concept here .
          after giving the userid and password , those details must be match with backend sap database.if no one of userid and passwrod field is matching it has to show some error message. and in password field must be in encrypted letters .

Use JCO api to create connection to the backend.

On the webdynpro screen you can ask users to enter login id and password. Use this information to create connection to backend using JCO.

How to make multiple portals work in same domain (wlp 9.2)? IMPORTANT !!!

We have domain where one portal application is in production now and other portal application have to deploy in the same domain.
The first one is using global scoped DataSources and the new one is using application scoped because they have to use own schemas in the database.
Also Group and User/role management have to work application scoped, meaning that in one's portal admin console shows only users/groups/roles to that portal.
How do I do this and what is the optional/best practises to do this kind of configuration, configure and deploy multiple portals in the same domain ?
I get so far that I make new SQLAuthenticator and XCAMLRoleMapper to the new portal but when the LDAP and database goes out of sync and I delete P13N -tables and LDAP, server start creates only to the first portal database the needed rows and delegated admin management doesn't work in the new one at all.
I have read all bea's documents related to JDBC - application scoping, deploying, security P13N and I can't get enough information from it to make this work.

You may want to ask in the weblogic.developer.interest.portal forum.
I don't believe that group and user/role management can be application

Saving/Printing all pages of Report developed in Portal....

Hi friends,
How can I save a Report developed in Portal as soft file?
I know there is a feature in Customizing Report to enter the
File save as Excel and it will try to save file.
I have 2 questions :
a) How can I achieve saving the Report as html/ascii/excel file
when it has say 20000 rows ?.
(Because always when I run a report on browser it brings data
when I press "Next" and "previous" buttons.)
b) If I need to print the Report to printer how can I print all
pages of Report output?

How to implement OracleAS Portal Clustering ?

Dear all,
Can anybody pls point me to the docs about how to implement OracleAS Portal Cluster (version 10.1.4) ?
Also, about deploying Portal from development server to production server (using Export Import) , do we have to deploy it to all nodes , or can we just deploy it once to the cluster ?

so to fetch the item table data how to develope the UI..
as we have developed our application in Mobile Infrastructure 7.0 and that is working fine with desktop but not with emulator(windows emulator)
so can some one inform me how to develope the application which has to work fine even with an emulator..

How to compare two portal server configuration settings? For example I want to compare sandbox with development portal server their entire configuration set up and settings details comparision. Is there any option/solution for this.

There is no standard or OOTB solution for comparing the configuration of 2 portal .. atleast to my knowledge. If you can specify which configuration you want to focus .. may be I can provide some tips n tricks.

How to customizing standard portal pages ?......

Dear All,
I'm developing a content management application on Oracle9iAS Portal on which the user is allowed to add a new content on portal page. But when the user creates a new page, a standard portal navigation bar is displayed from which the user is allowed to browse the Navigator and Builder pages of the portal which he should not do it. So, i would like to ask how to disable such portal links which appears when the user create a new page like (Navigator, Builder, Home). I need to know if it's possible or not ???
THIS REQUEST IS URGENT

Just change the privileges on the Navigator and Builder pages. The links will not be displayed to users who don't have view privilege on those pages.

don't know what you mean by ADF Faces rich web client, but if you mean our Ajax component set, then this is not yet available outside of Oracle. If you mean ADF Faces as we have it in JDeveloper 10.1.3, create a JSF page and step through the creation process, toggle the ADF Faces libraries to make ADF Faces available

Add content administration role to the user.
The the content administration tab would be visible to the user in the main menu tab.
Then in content administration tab, configure the URL for KM URL tab or link.
This would be done by EP experts. Please contact your EP experts to do.

How to execute the Portal Activity Report

Hello,
In the System Administration -> System Configuration-> Service Configuration Editor
Under Applications->com.sap.portal.activityreport.core-> Services->ActivityReport and I have configured the report.
I saved I have restarted the service to effect the changes and in Portal Catalog
Application->com.sap.portal.activityreport.core and I have administrated the changes. The Application Details Editor is displayed.
I have clicked the Restart the portal also.
I would like to know how to execute this Portal Activity Report after making this configuration.
Can anyone help me.

Hi Kris,
here an example with steps:
1. Navigate to Content Administration -> Portal Content
2. Step into a test folder and right click on the folder to create a new iView
2. Select the template "Portal Activity Report iView"
   Name: Daily User Logins
   Technical Name: DailyUserLogins
3. Open the newly created iView and define the following parameters
   under "Specify report content"
      Start of Reporting: Date 01.01.2005 and Time: 08:00
      End of Reporting: Date 31.12.2005 and Time: 24:00
      Time Unit for Reporting: Daily
   under "Configure report options"
      Information to Report: Number of users logged on
You have created a new reporting iView, aggregating information about the number of anonymous and authenticated users on a daily basis.
