How to disable anti-alasing completely in firefox 30?

Till today I used an add-on to remove the anti-alasing functionality to get clear, sharp Fonts in Firefox.
With Firefox 30 the add-on is no longer supported.
And now I am back at the beginning with this prblem as I already hat in Firefox 17.
Here an example of what I mean.
http://s1.directupload.net/images/140612/rl8qxiiu.jpg
The upper line is as Windows renders fonts without antialasing and so did firefox until firefox 29.
The bottom line is how firefox renders fonts in firefox 30. I can not live with that washed-out, frayed fonts, I get headache from that.
Can someone tell me how to remove this anti-alasing feature completely out of my firefox?

This thread is about Firefox 30, while the other one is Firefox 24 ESR, so maybe better to keep separate...
Is hardware acceleration working on your Firefox 30? You can check on the Troubleshooting Information page, either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
* Help menu > Troubleshooting Information
* type or paste '''about:support''' in the address bar and press Enter
Search in the page for GPU and check what you have for "GPU Accelerated Windows". If hardware acceleration is enabled and working, it should show all windows accelerated. If it is blocked, it should show zero windows accelerated.

  • How to disable bottom slider completely?

    Hi there,
this relates somewhat to: How to close a fullscreen Weboverlay with a MSO and I fear I already know the answer.
Since we do have a completley own custom Fullscreen Navigation we do not want this little pesky white sliderbar allways popping up.  It is our Nemesis - like Clippy was to word users
And since we do have Fullscreen overlay there's no effect in putting a void or nul link button in the Background of the Navigation overlay, because events are not passing through the overlay to the underlying indesign objects (and also there's no way to communicate with them).
I hoped to achieve that Goal in defining the border-area with a top/bottom Minimum percentage in the dps appbuilder inside the advanced Options. But the Minimum you can enter is 5%... why no 0%?
And even worse... if I enter 5%, everything - our custom Navigation included - suddenly stops to work because our mainnavigation sits in the top 5% and it appears that now the dps-Navigation is above our custom-Navigation which breaks it completlely.
    Why is that?
And why cant we enter 0% or at least 0.1%?
    So.. urgent Feature request:
Allow 0% in the app builder ... I think that would be the easiest way to get rid of the slider completely. And as I searched and read in this Forum I strongly believe thats of high demand.
And/or why no Checkbox for disabling the built-in folionavigation completley?
    Best Regards,
    Andy

  • How to disable Google auto-complete and instant search functions

Until the last week, I have been successfully using http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0 to disable Google's insistence on forcing users' searches to use the infuriating auto-complete and Instant Search functions (the option to disable the former was removed by Google from Preferences while the latter doesn't retain the disabling in Preferences).
However, Google now seems to have beaten my first choice workaround.
Before I switch to one last possible workaround, I wondered if Firefox users knew of any others?
    Failures so far are: *http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0 *www.google.co.uk/firefox *https://encrypted.google.com/

    You can use:
    * http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0
    * https://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0
Those two do not show suggestions, but also do not have autocomplete=off in case you are remembering form data

  • How to disable automatic spell checking on Firefox Mobile?

    Hello,
I installed Firefox onto my N900, and its spell checking functionality annoys me very much. I usually type in a language that it doesn't support, and even in English it sometimes underlines words which it doesn't have in its dictionary.
I know all I have to do is set "layout.spellcheckDefault" to 0 in about:config, but I can't do that... double clicking the setting name just zooms in and out, and there is no way to disable it (or I haven't found it) from the Settings UI.
Finally, I did it by manually editing the following file:
    /home/opt/mozilla/fennec-1.0.0/defaults/preferences/mobile.js
However, in my opinion, a simple solution should be presented for more casual users.
    == Extensions installed: ==
    Weave
    Adblock Plus

    Caitlin,
Thanks for your answer! Since then, I figured out that I could change those settings in about:config by selecting them and pressing enter.
By the way I installed the nightly Fennec build, and it seems more responsive than the Firefox-named release version. It doesn't support the Adblock plugin, so that may be reason enough to switch back to the 1.0 version.

  • How to disable auto reload Tabs on Firefox-Launch

    Hi,
i have an old Laptop and it takes a lot of time to launch Firefox if there are a lot of tabs from the old session.
How can i prevent Firefox to reload all the old Tabs on startup?
    Thanks for your help
    Florian

Without using any add-ons, there is a really simple solution I discovered last night. In the General tab of the Options menu, select the "When Firefox starts" option "Show my windows and tabs from last time", then tick the "Don't load tabs until selected" box below. you can then set the "WFS" option to homepage or blank tab, and if you save a session, the tabs will no longer automatically refresh when you re-open FF

  • CS4 How to disable anti alias when pasting from Illustrator to Photoshop?

    Hello,
I'm trying to paste vector artwork from Illustrator into Photoshop but it seems no matter what I do Photoshop anti aliases the illustration. Is there a way to keep this from happening?
The whole point of making the art in Illustrator was to keep the edges clean and the colors limited.
    Your suggestions are much appreciated.

    In Illustator >> Object >> Rasterize >> Anti-aliasing>> None
Copy and paste this into Photoshop.
    Or

  • How to disable web security in firefox

Please let us know how to disable web security in mozilla firefox .
    I tried re-setting the below :
    security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy;true
    network.http.referer.XOriginPolicy
    but its not working.
Whereas in chrome we have the below option to set websecurity :
    chromium-browser --disable-web-security
    Please advice.

    Hi,
I understand that you would like to know how to disable web security in Firefox and you have tried: security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy;true and network.http.referer.XOriginPolicy. These are cross domain single origin policy that refers to a specific header int HTTP.
The chromium-browser --disable-web-security essentially does the same thing. (Ideally) It seems from a couple of sources that this does not actually disable Cors as well? Hence (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1039678)

  • How do I add Auto Complete and how in the world do I get searches to open in a new page.

I just downloaded FireFox and need help with two things.
One how do I get auto complete in FireFox. The download has removed this feature in my Google toolbar.???
and two how do I get the searches set to open in a new window. I do not like tab browsing.
I went to tools and checked the box to open new windows in a new tab, but i don't see this happening. Maybe I am just assuming that this is the right setting to select.
I just want my searches to open in a new window, not in the same window or tab.
I have Firefox, Google, Bing and Norton search bars. I need all 4 in my business.
Before the download I was at least able to get Google, Bing and Norton to open in new windows but now they are not. Nothing from any of the search bars will open in a new window

Did you install the Google Toolbar for Firefox? It has its' own autofill setup, separate from the rudimentary "form fill" that Firefox has. It also has its' own Searchbar, with its' own settings..
If you are talking about having searches from the Firefox Search Bar open in a new Tab. ''There is no setting for opening a search in a new window.'' <br />
Type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter. <br />
''If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.'' <br />
Filter = '''browser.search.openintab''' = double-click that preference to toggle it to '''''true''''', then restart Firefox

  • The windows of the Windows bar are already a form of tabs, so I don't need them in Firefox. How can I disable them completely from Firefox 23?

    RE: TABS ARE WINDOWS!
The Windows bar already functions as a tab bar. Those tabs are called "windows." So, I find Firefox tab windows superfluous. How can I disable them completely from Firefox 23? I don't need what is essentially TWO windows bars covering up the entire width of my widescreen monitor's image! I already have a Windows bar at the bottom of my screen and, if I really wanted to, I could change ITS position to the top of the screen, so that it would LOOK like the Firefox tab windows bar. Firefox TABS are, essentially, a superfluous SECOND WINDOWS BAR.
Here are my reasons for why I'd rather use Mozilla's Firefox, than Microsoft's Internet Explorer or Google's Chrome. I love and admire Firefox for Mozilla's intent on good security, for Firefox's Personas add-on, and for Firefox's free use of the Ad-Block add-on which, as you know, has the distinct virtue of reducing screen clutter--the last of which is my motive for wanting to get rid of the SUPERFLUOUS Firefox tabs "windows" bar. I am dreadfully sick of companies forcing miscellaneous bars (mostly representing marketing campaigns trying to sell me something) into my browser (and down my throat) every time I download something. (In case you haven't guessed, I am deliberately referring to your Firefox tabs bar as a "Firefox tabs 'windows' bar," because TABS are WINDOWS!)

Let me clarify even more. The Firefox add-on you mention does not remove "tabs" windows. It only HIDES the "tabs" bar when there is only one "tab" in that window. It DOES NOT end "tabs." It does not turn "tabs" off.
I know this, because, even with the add-on you recommend, the "tabs" bar often re-appears when I open a link, which--for some unknown reason--Firefox defaults to opening in a second "tab" within the same window, rather than putting it in a new Windows bar window. This, of course, disregards what I want to happen.
I want to use my Windows bar to control my windows. I do not want my Firefox browser controlling my windows--which it calls "tabs." Can you tell me how to shut off "tabs?"

  • How do I disable the plugin check at Firefox Version 18 or higher startup?

This thread carries on from a discussion about How do I disable the plugin check at Firefox startup? As clearly Tylerdowner did not like my previous message and so would like me to obviously start a whole new thread to find out what’s going on.
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/938821
Tyler: I am still looking for support and so are the other 83 people who have this problem. Hence why I am here, not to have to start another thread, not to have a go at you or just to run around further to get a clear, straight forward answer. I am now back to running Version 12 (which, has not solved the problem), with up-to-date plugins which are all supported.
Don’t fob us off, PLEASE HELP. Unless I am very much mistaken, this is the place we are meant to find help, right? Not to be completely blown off because somebody says something you don’t like. Perhaps someone better suited to this will help. I’ll follow on from then with MY problem from Tyler’s final comment as it is highly relevant:
Tylerdowner: Rumor Control, if you are running Firefox 18 with up to date plugins, then you are having a different problem than this thread is about. This is for Firefox 3.6 users who have old plugins, not those with updated software.

I should also add this info for all to see clear as part of my question (can be seen in More system details too):
I liked that version, was the first ever FireFox browser I tried and because of it made it my number 1 browser. There have been a heck of a lot from 3.6 to 18 though I think we’d all agree. Progress can and often is messy, but worth it.
Which is fine except mine, a different version, up-to-date plugins – and I’ve still same problem as these guys. It’s exactly the same even for me who has updated: How do we get rid of the Plugin Check Screen every time we start FireFox? I know I am up-to-date – as it tells me every single time!
I agree everyone should be up-to-date with the software and this may very well be the case that solves a lot of people with lower versions – yet I can say I updated from version 12 to the latest 18, spent the time getting half a dozen different updates as it wanted (all of which are supported according to the link you provided) plugins and yet I am still having the same problem as users with 3.6 and older plugins! Went back to version 12.0 and I am getting the problem since installing version 18.
Therefore from the fact I’m still getting the popup every time telling me everything is updated and safe, which is lovely to know, still doesn’t change the fact it won’t go away! Not a major problem but it is getting tedious now every single time.
Like I say I am willing to wait and see if this gets fixed anyway which to be fair, FireFox seem to do a lot better than the competition. If it doesn’t though I’d still rather go back to an older version just to be rid of it! But not even that is now working to be gone of it! It’s gotten that ridiculous for me now too!
    :)

  • How do I find "Tools" so I can disable the auto complete function?

I was told that to disable to auto complete function, I had to click on Tools. I can't find "Tools". How do I get there?

Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "Tools > Options" if the menu bar is hidden.

To be specific with the scenario if the client does not have the JRE installed, i would like to have it downloaded from the server where application runs instead of going to java.sun.com website which needs internet access.

  • Mozilla Firefox 5.0 disabled several ad-ons...!!! I want them back. How do I reverse this action Mozilla Firefox 5.0 did? in English

Mozilla Firefox 5.0 disabled several ad-ons when I installed it on my new laptop...!!! I want these ad-ons working. How do I reverse this action Mozilla Firefox 5.0 did to my CPU without warning me?
I've used Mozilla Firefox 4.0 for years on my desktop, and now...problems! Do I need to uninstall the program. Is there a feature to re-enable the disabling that Firefox did without using a Microsoft restore point? Please inform

When Firefox disables an add-on, it usually is because it includes a list of compatible Firefox versions and it hasn't yet been updated for Firefox 5. If it worked on Firefox 4, there is a good chance it will work on Firefox 5, but no guarantee.
You can force Firefox to ''ignore'' add-on version restrictions by (what else) installing an add-on. Then you can test whether the add-ons important to you actually work in Firefox 5.
    [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Add-on Compatibility Reporter :: Add-ons for Firefox]
After you install this add-on and restart Firefox, there will still be a message that "--- is incompatible with Firefox 5.0" but the add-on will be enabled and a Disable button will appear for that entry.
