How to disable back and refresh buttons in browser

Hi,
I need to disable the back and refresh buttons of the browser on the click of a button in a jsp as the process takes some time to be completed and i want to prevent the user from refreshing the screen.
How can this be done?

How to handle stop and refresh button.

i have two JSP pages. in the frist page the user has the option to either view previous ones or create a new. in both cases i pass a form id as parameter to execute the related data. in the second page , when user fills the data and clicks submit, and clicks the stop or refresh or any other button before the data gets committed and reaches the confirmation page, how do i handle it? when user clicks one of these buttons , the controller class executes again (the process request is again executed).but this time there are no parameters sent to the controller. how do i handle this? also when user clicks the back i have redirected to dialog page. but there are back,forward refresh buttons for the dialog page. if user clicks those, again there are no parameters sent to the controller class.
how do i handle this.

1. Back button - Read the devguide and make the application/page bworser backbutton safe
2. Refresh/Stop Buttons - either use js to restrict these, or embed logic in the code to stop undesirable behaviour.

see if the following line included in any of your common .js file to all pages helps.
window.history.forward(1);
buttons are not disabled but when you click on them action is not performed
if you have no common .js file for all pages include follwing in all jsp pages and check out

The button cannot be effectively supressed. The browser effectively prevents this by various methods. Therefore, Web Dynpro ABAP educates the user not to press the back button by detecting such a user action and displaying a text message. Afterwards, the proper page is rendered.

On about 80% of the pages I am on, my back button and my refresh button will not work. The back button will not recognize that I have been to previous pages in the same tab, and my refresh button will just do nothing (the shortcut keys 'backspace' and 'f5' also do nothing). How to disable back and forward Swype in Firefox on android

back and forward gestures always done accidentally with the normal browsing, as it resembles exactly when you want to move to right or left of a large or desktop view of a web page.
there's also an excellent application (three finger Swipe) one can use effectively without any mistakes as it require three fingers Swype to launch an action, not one finger, exactly as the very normal browsing.

I have the same problem on a Samsung Galaxy tab 2 Android 4.1.1. on Firefox v23.
It says back or forward in some horizontal swipe/flick gestures in the middle/lower screen (black transparant popup, white text).
It's really annoying, because i'm prototyping with this gestures. And sometimes a swipe-action-left navigates to a earlier page instead of the page linked to the swipe-action-left. I disabled two finger gestures in about:config, but it didn't help of course.
I don't think it's related to the Samsung tab/Android version or TouchWiz?

Hiding back and home buttons in browser

Hi all.
SRM 4.0.
When the users go shopping in the ITS web, it would be great if the standard Internet buttons (back, forth, stop, home etc) just didn't show up in the ITS at all.
I do believe it is quite simple to change this so that the users cannot simply go back and forth in the ITS, so any idea?

If it's that critical, you could explore this partial workaround:
Use a script or configuration file on your server that changes the disposition based on the user agent. In other words, for Firefox, send an attachment disposition that forces a download outside the browser instead of the default (inline) disposition that allows Firefox to display the PDF in a tab.
Now... that won't stop the user from dragging and dropping the downloaded file on a Firefox tab to use the built-in PDF viewer, but most users would tend to open the file in their default viewer (e.g., stand-alone Adobe Reader).

The shortcut key sequence to open Panorama (View > Tab Groups) has changed to Shift + Ctrl + E.

When I start it up it shows two two nested windows on the screen, has a Firefox yellow tab in the corner, does not display the toolbar bookmarks, the back and forth buttons do not work and there is no page refresh. No clue what is going on.

Every time I open up Firefox it appears to open two nested and linked windows, each with their own minimize, maximize and close buttons but the both work the same. The homepage does not come up, the back and forth buttons do not work. Both the refresh button and F5 do not work. The Bookmark Toolbar does not show up until I disable it in View and then re-enable it and this causes the outer nested window to disappear or close.

This issue can be caused by an extension or theme that isn't working properly.
