How to display chinese word when i logon in EN?

Hi!
I have a report that can upload an excel file using BAPI. Excel file will be extracted to an internal table at first and this excel file will contain chinese characters. When I logon to EN and run the report, I debug the internal table and found that my chinese characters become ????. But if i logon on chinese - ZH, i can see them clearly.
however, for the same report, I tested on my friend's PC (vendor company). He logon to EN as well, but can see the chinese character very clearly.
I check on RZ10, his development server profile has zcsa/system_language = E, zcsa/installed_languages = 12DEMH
My develpment server is zcsa/system_language = E, zcsa/installed_languages = 12DEMZH
My friend as an ABAPer has no idea on how the settings in developemt server work. Did I miss out somethings that disallow me to see the chinese characters in an internal table when i logon in EN?
Can anyone help me to figure out this problem? Thanks a lot!
best regards,
ying ying

Hi!
  I know the reason I can't see chinese characters during debugging if I logon to  English SAP system.
  I should click "Customizing Local Layout" at application bar --> Character Set --> Simplified Chinese. Those chinese characters that appear in ??? while debugging will change to proper chinese characters and uploaded successfully.
  If I go to FB03 and see the chinese characters in »áÒéÆڼ俧·È·ÑÓÃ, perform the same steps and those weird code will change to proper chinese as well.
  Thanks for all the replies and help. It's very appreciated. Thank you very much!
Best regards,

    (The most concern is that how to display Chinese in AWT)
    Thanks

    For starters, you shouldn't use the 8859 encoding since it only supports single byte representations. You should be able to successfully use UTF-8. Then to actually display the characters...or to type them, make sure you have an input method editor (IME) that supports the language - in theory if you are using a Chinese Win2k, you already have this with windows - just use the right font (I think MS Gothic should work) to show the characters. You might want to consider switching to Swing.
    Good luck

    sqlldr is an application residing in the OS. procedure runs in the dbms engine.
    you cannot run an os command directly from a procedure or a function or a package .
    If you want to do so you need to use either a daemon process created by a PRO*C program
    or a JAVA stored procedure to do so.
    just refer to previous question forums, you can find the solution. Somebody has already given a solution using
    java to run an OS command . check it out

  • Display chinese word on ALV

    I have a program that will generate a report in ALV format, some of fields included chinese word, can't show properly, but it can be shown properly when export to spreadsheet. How can i display those chinese word in ALV report? Thanks!

    Hi,
    In GUI_UPLOAD function module there is an import parameter "CODEPAGE" , here if you pass the code page for chinese character then you will be able to view the chinese character after uploading the excel sheet and storing it in the internal table.
    Specify the code page parameter explicitly (in case the files are to be read or written in a specific code page).By default the codepage of the Operating system is picked up if nothing is specified. Sample code as follows:
    Data : fend_filename type string ,
      p_rcpage type abap_encoding.
    call function 'GUI_UPLOAD'
         exporting
           filename                      = fend_filename
           filetype                        = 'ASC'
    *      HAS_FIELD_SEPARATOR           = ' '
    *      HEADER_LENGTH                 = 0
           read_by_line                  = 'X'
    *      DAT_MODE                      = ' '
           codepage                      = p_rcpage
       *      IGNORE_CERR                   =  ABAP_TRUE
    *      REPLACEMENT                   = '#'
    *    IMPORTING
    *      FILELENGTH                    =
    *      HEADER                        =
         tables
           data_tab                      = itab.
         ret_code = sy-subrc.
    I am not so sure but If it is set to Chinese, it uses code page 4102 (Unicode). Else find the corresponding code page using FM NLS_GET_FRONTEND_CP.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to display Chinese characters in Oracle?

    I am using Oracle 8i with Language settings as AMERICA.
    I am displaying records which is contain Chinese characters.
    But it is not displayed properly in Oralce.
    How to change the settings to display Chinese characters?
    Thanks

    It could be possible to display Chinese characters using SQL Developer without any specific NLS_LANG setting because SQL Developer is using JDBC which doesn't use NLS_LANG setting according to When is NLS_LANG used ?.
    For example, I'm able to display the following Chinese character in SQL Developer 1.2.0 on Windows XP Pro with French Windows setting and NLS_LANG set in Windows registry to FRENCH_FRANCE.WE8ISO8859P1.
    select unistr('\8349') from dual;

    If you want to give an error message on some processing you can raise the message in the event at selection-screen.
    If you want to display information message also ,the same can be done in at selection screen
    In case you want to do the processing selectively like only when the execute button is pressed, then you can do the processing based on SY-UCOMM. (value will be 'ONLI' )

  • How to display success message when data is changed in the custom tab in MM

    Hi,
    I have added a new custom data tab in the MM01/MM02/MM03 transactions. Whenever I do changes to fields in the custom tab in MM02 transaction, and no changes in the standard tabs, I will get a message stating "No Changes Made".
    But if I do changes in the standard tabs, it works as usual with display of message "Changes to particular material has been done.
    Please let me know, if anyone of you know, how to display the success message if the changes to the custom tab is done.
    Thanks in advance,
    sudhanva

    Hi Sudhanva,
    The exit EXIT_SAPLMGMU_0001 is a function exit that you can use for custom validation but not to add custom tab/screen.
    But the message issued by SAP is not related to this Function Exit.
    If you have used a Screen Exit, then there must be some Function Exits also in the same Enhancement using which you can assign the value of custom fields to/from the standard structure. Thus when the value of any custom field is changed the system can understand that the some changes have been changed and will  not issue the message.
    In case you have used a BADI, there can be other methods in the BADi using whcih you can assign the value of custom fields to/from the standard structure. This might also prevent the message from being displayed.
    I could try giving you further details if you can provide the name of the Enhancement/BADi that you used to add the additional tab.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Abhisek.

  • How to read Chinese word from a TXT file

    File.OpenText() read a TXT File with  Chinese word in   ;but it not show right.
    exam:The TXT File include :中国
     this.Txt1.Text=ofd.File.OpenText().ReadToEnd();
    but it show :ʹݼƻ
    How to solve it

    What encoding does the text file use?  Unlike .NET, Silverlight only supports UTF-8 and UTF-16.  File.OpenText() uses UTF-8 by default.
    If the text file is in some other encoding, you can create your own encoding class (that derives from System.Text.Encoding) that can be used to read the text file.
    class MyEncoding : System.Text.Encoding {
    this.Txt1.Text = (new StreamReader(ofd.File.OpenRead(), new MyEncoding())).ReadToEnd();

  • Chart Linear Axis's title(Description) is not displaying chinese words!

    Recently on my project's end there is a need to translate the current english web portal to chinese web portal . In the middle of the transition , i found that i had a difficulty to replace the Linear Axis description with chinese words , the initial code i had use to declare the english version linear axis description  is shown as below:
    <mx:verticalAxis>
    <mx:LinearAxis labelFunction="linearAxis_labelFunc" title="Population" displayName="Population">
    </mx:LinearAxis>
    </mx:verticalAxis>
    Then i replace the chinese words into the title and displayname , and this should be a very straight foward change. Eventually when i compile and run , the chart's linear axis doesnt shows up any words at all .
    for testing purpose , i had actually try to insert the chinese words in between the english words example:
    <mx:verticalAxis>
    <mx:LinearAxis labelFunction="linearAxis_labelFunc" title="P(Chinese words here)opul(Chinese Words here)ation" displayName="P(Chinese Words here)opul(Chinese Words Here)ation">
    </mx:LinearAxis>
    </mx:verticalAxis>
    Eventually the results only shows the description " Population ",
    I had try to drag the chart to be way more larger to see if there is an alignment problem on the description, but still the chinese words is not appearing. So far i had no problem in inserting the chinese words into the panel title , label , and other table axis . I only have problem on the CHART'S LINEAR AXIS DESCRIPTION. it seems like the compiler is ignoring it !  i am currently using Adobe Flex Builder 3 Professional . Please Help me ! This is Urgent !

    You might try embedding the font:
