How to display grid with appended rows?

Hello everybody,
I m trying to load a grid with items from EKPO for a given Purchase Order No.
Requirement is that when i enter the next Purchase Order number its items should get appended to the existing items(previous Purchase Order).
I have also populated internal table with APPENDING clause of SELECT statement,but when i try to display the grid only the first entries get displayed not the appended ones.
and i get an error "PROGRAM ERROR" for having used REFRESH_TABLE_DISPLAY.
can anybody help me in solving this problem.

we had the same question and problem.
SAP told us via OSS the following:
"... The ALV grid in RSA3 will be supported with the PI_BASIS 2006_1_700.
But you have PI_BASIS 2005_1_700
Furthermore this software component PI_BASIS is independent from the
BW releases so that you can upgrade the latest support packages of the
PI_BASIS 2006_1_700 in source system"
So if you have PI_BASIS 2005 you won't have the functionality of ALV grid in TC RSA3.
(remark: At the moment I can not confirm that ALV grid in RSA3 is available with PI_BASIS 2006_x_xxx. We plan to upgrade in a few month.)

this can be achieved by just assigning a datatable containing the data plus some formatting of grid. Meaning there is no feature for that.
The datatable can be filled manually or by sql query. Then you have to attach some events for updating the values ( validate after for gid item ).
A small example for a sql query showing last month quotations and orders with summary :

Using "Edit Formula" in table, then "Column Formula" is set as "CONCAT(CONCAT('Facility: ',PRO_M_FACILITY.ABBR_NAME), CONCAT('<>Department: ',PRO_M_DEPARTMENT.DEPARTMENT_NAME) )". I want to use "<>" to display "Department: XXXXXXX" in the second row, but it also does not work.

How to display more than 200 rows in the table?

Hi Experts,
Is that possible to display more than 200 rows in a Table.
when i query from table, it has 1000 rows, i want to display all the 1000 rows in the Table.
when i query, the values are displaying up to 201 rows only,
when i click next on 200 - 201 it throws Exception says
*"Query has exceeded 200 rows. Potentially more rows exist, please restrict your query."*
let me know how to display all the 1000 rows in a table without Exception.
Any idea will be highly appreciated.

The number of rows retrieved is controlled by profile option "FND: View Object Max Fetch Size". I believe 200 is the default value. Pl see these MOS Docs

4.6 has not method parse_string.
And example like this is not helpful:

May be you can use fm SAP_CONVERT_TO_XML_FORMAT. But it have some issues with memory usage, the program consumed tons of memory during convert.

For PPR Report:
Select "Yes" in "Enable Partial Page Refresh" item of "Layout and Pagination" region in Report Attributes of that report.
For display Label with TOTAL:
Use "Break Formatting" region in Report Attributes of that report.

From my testing by writing a program, this function module will only show the text and key if both have different data. Please find the coding as below. This surely seems to be a bug to me(if not by design), did you check for any SAP notes? Perhaps a front end trace can help(Note 407743) !

How to display more than 10 rows in an Auto Updating Report

I followed Carl Backstorm's example, http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:40:525653462286833::NO:RP:: to create a page with an auto update report/region. It's working fine (thanks, Carl) but I can't have the report display all rows (38 rows in total). Everytime I press the "Manual Refresh" button, it shows 10 (the first 10) rows only.
When the report displays at the first time, it shows all the rows (38 rows). Number of Rows and Maximum Row Count are set to 999999 and "No Pagination Selected" in the report region. But after I press the "Manual Refresh" button or specifiy an update time value (like 1 second) to have it auto update, then it only display the first 10 rows.
Is there a way to display more than 10 rows in an Auto Updating Report using Carl's example auto update report/page? Anyone can help? Thank you.

Dear Kathryn, I did used DisplayString as suggested by you. The result work fine until I add more data to this cross tab. I used this formula : global numbervar pager;recordnumber();pager := pager + 1; if pager > 0 then totext(pager - 1,0) The result come out in decending order for each row. I assume that your requiremen is related to smartform.the below is the solution i suggest.
As per my understanding of your requirement ,It's clear that as of now there is some description field which is also getting displayed along with other PO fields.
However you would like to display the description field in a new line since the length of this field is longer than other fields as a result the data is getting scattered .
Therefore one better option could be: since the whole data from PO would be in a loop you can display all other fields in one line type of the table as per the intial requirement and you display the description line alone in a new line type wth the desired length so that data would not be scattered and no data loss would happen.
I assume you are aware of creating of line types for table.

I have in my package the MyRectangle class, a blank JForm class called RectGUI and the class for the panel RectGUIPanel. How to create table with 1 row 1MB in size?

I am doing some R&D and want to create a Table with 1 row, which is 1 MB in size.
i.e. I want to create a row which is 1 MB in size.
I am using a 11g DB.
I do this in SQL*Plus:
(1.) CREATE TABLE onembrow (pk NUMBER PRIMARY KEY, onembcolumn CLOB);
(2.) Since 1MB is 1024*1024 bytes (i.e. 1048576 bytes) and since in English 1 letter = 1 byte, I do this
SQL> INSERT INTO onembrow VALUES (1, RPAD('A', 1048576, 'B'));
1 row created.
(3.) Now, after committing, I do an analyze table.
SQL> ANALYZE TABLE onembrow COMPUTE STATISTICS;
Table analyzed.
(4.) Now, I check the actual size of the table using this query.
select segment_name,segment_type,bytes/1024/1024 MB
from user_segments where segment_type='TABLE' and segment_name='ONEMBROW';
SEGMENT_NAME
SEGMENT_TYPE

Why is the size only .0625 MB, when it should be 1 MB?

When testing it is necessary to do something that is a reasonably realistic model of a problem you might anticipate appearing in a production system - a row of 1MB doesn't seem likely to be a useful source of information for "R&D on performance tuning"

7 seconds to generate 2.5M rows doesn't seem like a problem. For a modelling example I have one script that generates 6.5M (carefully engineered) rows, with a couple of indexes and a foreign key or two, then collects stats (no histograms) in 3.5 minutes.

How to display the number of row in a grid

Hi,
In a Form I have a grid (populated from a table). The first field is the Code ID_NUMBER, datatype varchar2(4), mask format 9999.
I need that when I click (or insert) on a new row in the datagrid, the field Code must be filled with a new value automatically. For example, if in the previous rows I have "0002", "0004", "0006", the new value in the new rows must be "0008".
How can perform this ?
