How to do OBIEE load testing using OATS

Hi,
As part of OBIEE load testing, i have down loaded OATS.
Can i please know what protocol to use to perform OBIEE load testing.
And how to perform OBIEE load testing using OATS ?

You can use the web/http protocol for load testing the OBIEE.., Also please let me know if you face any issues using this protocol

I'd like to automate performance load test using OATS in our daily regression test. Can I invoke (start) load test using script? and how can I collect the test result in certain format so I can parse and compare with base result to determine whether there is a regression or not?

How to set Proxy for IE 8.0 on doing Load Testing with OATS 12.1.0.2

I have tried adding proxy server by adding the address to "Localhost" and Port as 8080.
but nothing is working out, for recording an EBS instance its working fine ,no need to setup anything in the OATS tool, eg, Proxy settings.
But when it comes to BPM with ADF technology , the recorder is not starting the Recording even the pointer navigation also not wokring.
So, is there way to record the ADF applications in BPM ?

Thing is do we need to add the proxy server here?, as for doing Load testing on EBS application,there is no need of adding a proxy server,
So the same way it should work with the ADF application too, but its not showing any mouse pointer in the Browser tool bar or recording
the navigation.
Point to be noted is, we need to connect to VPN in order to access the Application.
is it because of VPN connection that its not recording?
But while doing the functional testing I didn't face anyproblem though as its recording everything even if we are connected to VPN.
In Functional testing also i found ,all the input fields where we add the "username" or any input data via a "text box" the tool is not able to
record the field information along with the input we enter.
If you could let me know ,how to do a Load testing for ADF application using BPM , it would be helpful

I need your help in finding the Microsoft Certification for load test using TFS Online.

There is no certification that specifically focuses on Load Testing. The closest is perhaps exam 70-497, "Software Testing with Visual Studio", but this deals mostly with functional testing, and only has minimal coverage of load testing.

This issue was resolved after changing the user name to "oats" this is the user name of weblogic server and not the OATS console.

How can i set different number of iterations for different scenario profiles that we add to "AutoPilot" in load testing of OATS

Hi,
I have few set of load test scenarios, I would like to add each of these test scenarios to "AutoPilot" and run each different scenario profile at different number of iterations.
As in Oracle Load Testing the "Set Up AutoPilot" tab I see a section like this "Iterations played by each user: ", which says run these many iterations for every virtual user of all profile added under "Submitted Profile Scenario". So is there any thing like that to set different iterations for every scenario profile added in Autopilot.

It's not a built-in feature to override a page's styles on a tab-by-tab or site-by-site basis, but perhaps someone has created an add-on for this?
It also is possible to create style rules for particular sites and to apply them using either a userContent.css file or the Stylish extension. The Greasemonkey extension allows you to use JavaScript on a site-by-site basis, which provides further opportunity for customization. But these would take time and lots of testing to develop and perfect (and perfection might not be possible)...
Regarding size, does the zoom feature help solve that part? In case you aren't familiar with the keyboard and mouse shortcuts for quickly changing the zoom level on a page, this article might be useful: [[Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages]].

How to do a load testing in Sharepoint 2010 site

I have never done a performance or load testing on SharePoint 2010 site.
I have a site which has only one custom code written for consolidating documents. I want to check the performance of the site.
How do I go about this ? I want to know how many users can login at a time and view the site without any delay and
check how many people can consolidate documents at a time .

How to see OBIEE processes status using OPMN

Hi All,
I installed obiee 11g on windows server 2003 64 bit, all my processes are up and running as I look into the Fusion middleware console. I was trying to see the status through OPMN. I tried access the opmn by going into the folder
Middlewarehome\instances\instance1\bin
I double clicked opmnctl windows batch file but nothing comes on the screen. I don't see any black window coming up and showing me the status of all the obiee processes running, I notice that clicking opmnctl launches a black window but it goes away within seconds ?
Can anybody please tell me how to see my system components using opmnctl?

Try to run CMD prompt and change the Drive to opmn and run the command like this,
D:\Oracle\Middleware\instances\instance1\bin>opmnctl status

How to close a loaded testplan using C#-OPUI

Hello,
i created a OPUI in Cä that loads a testplan and executes it.
But i cant find a function to close an already opened testplan.
Means when i load testplan-1 it executes SeqFileLoad, the oi load tetsplan-2 and it execute SeqFileLoad.
But when i load again testplan-1 then it doesnt execute SeqFileLoad because it is still loaded.
So i am looging for an anload/close command.

Are you looking to UnLoadAll Modules of a sequence file?
If so try: SequenceFile.UnloadModules
from TS help:
Return Value
Returns True if all modules were successfully unloaded. If any sequences in the file are executing when you call this method, the method returns False.
Purpose
Unloads the code modules from all steps in all sequences of the sequence file.

If you are looking to close the sequence file then maybe SequenceFileClosing Event can be helpful.

Application Insights for load testing in VS 2013, Azure Preview or Visual Studio Online?

I'm trying to get some clarification on which version of application insights to use to get performance counters from application insights for my azure cloud service for load and performance testing purposes.
So far, its not be clear what the differences between the two versions are, after deploying first the Azure Preview version, I attempted to set up performance counters using application insights but was shown an error because my visual studio online account
did not have an associated application insights instance.
Is it possible to get performance counters using AI for load testing using the Azure Preview version? If so, how? If not, is that planned as a new feature or will performance counters for VSO cloud based load testing have to be used when support for the
VSO version of application insights is eventually dropped?

Hi Alex, thanks for your response. I do have an Azure account, and have tinkered with AI in Azure Preview. My question was more about what the differences between the VSO and azure preview versions of AI are.
When I initially deployed AI to the azure portal and tried to run load tests from visual studio (cloud load tests, that is) I could not. Its possible I had made a mistake in configuring the azure version of application insights though. Strangely enough,
I actually do still see application insights data in the azure preview portal after I removed the newer AI version and installed AI 1.3.
To clarify my question, is it or will it be possible to run cloud based load tests (using visual studio online or another integrated service) against a azure web role deployed with application insights for azure and get performance counters of the system
under test via AI? To do that, will I also have an application insights application in the visual studio online account (similar to how I do now with the VSO version of AI), because that seems to be a requirement to load performance counters from application
insights within visual studio.

That is not really true,
Performance of a service is not really measured just how can we pump the service end point but also how service components and supporting platform contribute to maintain the right througoutput.
So just like in any software application testing you have to collect the staticall data for each calls from
1. Hardware perspective (CPU, Thread, Socket etc)
2. Plarform perspective such as JAVA, .NET and what ever
3. Component perspectibe such as SDO, SCA, EJB, POJO, ADO etc
4. Application perspective: such as a war, ear, etc
5. Application platform perspective such a J2EE application resources such as JMS, JDBC, Pooling, Caching, Heap, I/O etc
6. Network perspective: such as band width, firwall etc
For example
If I deploy a highly tuned EJB in an ASYNC mode of service enablement using a J2EE platform and if I haven't tuned my JMS framework, my service based on EJB will not provide the right performance in a highly loaded situation.
So web service end point is just one side of the story. However performance is all about how do I get the work done through the web service interface so that the component, platform, hardware and network behind the screen will serve the purpose in a reasonable FASHION.
