How to draw custom line in crystal report without manually entering value?

Hi,
I have a bubble chart and want to represent custom lines one in x-axis and one in y-axis at the value arrived based upon an internal calculation.There is an option to manually enter value for custom line.
But i want to generate custom line at runtime without manually entering it.
Can somebody help out?

All,
i need to create two thickish semi circles like half donuts... each of the donut needs to be conditionally formatted depending on some values. am wondering is it possible to create half donuts ? or custom shapes for that matter to suit my requirement.

here's what i would recommend and it's a bit of work:
create a bunch of formulas that you can populate dynamically.
@green
if yourcondition1 then 1 else 0
@red
if yourcondition2 then 1 else 0
@blue
if yourcondition3 then 1 else 0
etc.
as Abhilash mentioned you need to use a Donut type chart. you create 1 formula for every colour that you want to use in the chart. you then add all of them as Show Values. you'll get a message / warning about adding all of the values but you can ignore that warning.
now you have to manually colour each part of the chart. there is a Color Expert in the chart but i would not recommend using it as it is very limited. you are better off creating one series / show value in the chart for every colour that you use and populating those formulas conditionally.
when you run the report, you need to ensure that only 2 of the formulas meet a TRUE condition. that way you'll have two halves all the time.

It's also important to 'prep' the excel file prior to connecting to it.
Give the data tab a meaningful name
Make sure the column headers are unique and that every column has a header
Delete any blank tabs
If you have trouble with Excel changing the data type of a field (say, a social security number you want to be a string value rather than a number so you don't lose leading zero) an alternative would be to save the spreadsheet file as a CSV, create a schema.ini to specify the data types for each column (example below) and use the same steps to connect except instead of choosing Excel 8.0, scroll to the bottom and choose Text. You have to make sure the CSV file is in the same folder as the schema.ini file that defines the columns.

How to hide Group Tree in Crystal Report Server.

Hi all visitors
i have created one crystal report and my report use group to summary the amount of each day.
after i use group to summary, i used text box cover the group. so my group can't click anything.
After that i upload my report to crystal report server, when i viewed my report and when i click on Group Tree, it will show the list of group (group date in crystal report) and it also can click. I don't want to show the Group Tree in Crystal Report Server.
Anybody know how to hide group tree in crystal report server?

Are you talking custom application, or infoview? If it is custom app, you would have to look at the setToolPanelViewType method. if its infoview, no direct way to change this that i know of.

I think you will probably need CRChart by ThreeD Graphics (www.threedgraphics.com). AFAIK, it's written by the guys who supply the charting module to Crystal, so integrates 100%, even if it's a bit fiddly.
It's a bit pricey (more than CR!), but if you need that functionality, it's about your only option. I've bought it do add a 'your average' linesymbol and 'everyone's average' linesymbol to a chart.
Essentially, it uses macros to plot user defined lines, box fills, shapes etc onto your chart.
You put something like this into the text fields of the chart:
@user_line 0,0,3,100 = draw a line from the 0,0 point to the 3rd group, 50th y-value.
You can use variable to define these points, so if you have a chart in a group, it'll display a different line position for each group.

How to draw horizontal line in smartform after end of the all line items

I am working on the smartform. I have created TABLE node in Main window.
i want to draw a horizontal line after end of the main window table node. i mean after printing all the line items of the table, I need to print one horizontal line.
Could you please help me how to resolve this issue.
FYI: I tried with the below two options. But no use.
1. desinged footer area in the table node of the main window.
2. tried with uline and system symbols.
please correct me if i am wrong. please explain in detail how to draw horizontal line after end of the main window table.

1 - in your table, create a line type with only one column, with the same width of the table
2 - in table painter, create a line under the line type
3 - insert a blank line text in the footer section with the line type you have created.

is below format.. if u see here line type 1 bottom line and line type 2 top line both are same.. so how to avoid this ?

Custom grouping in crystal report

I have a requirement of creating a report off BEx query (BI 7.0).
I have database field which gives around 250 rows. Now with these 250 rows I need to create a custom grouping in crystal report having 2 groups and a detail.
Some info about database field: For ex: 'A', 'B' and 'C' are 3 sample rows of the database field. I want to arrange this in such a way that.
A will form Group 1 and B will form group 2 and it is sub group of Group 1. and C is part of Group 2.
A (group 1)
B (Group 2)
C.
But when I tried it it resulted in
A (group 1)
Others
Others (group1)
B(Group 2)
C.
In this method I was successful in creating report if there were only 2 levels. But when it comes to 3rd level i am facing the problem. Any solution from experts.

You can create the superset group i.e Group A in ur illustration by choosing Insert -> Group from the pull-down menus and specifying the field name in the panel.
Next, in order to create the subset group i.e Group B and Group C you need to create a formula in the Formula Workshop-Formula Editor like the below syntax:
If <db_field_name> = "<value B>"
OR <db_field_name> = "<value C>"
then "Group B"
This formula can be used as your second group by choosing Insert -> Group from the pull-down menus and specifying this formula name in the panel.

after maxmium the winform window, content become at the center

then tried, content is not center any more

Since there is no control for center you'll need to do the math on your own. This is just a rough draft, but you'll get the idea.
One of the things you'll need to figure out is your buffer to help you give a centered feel. We'll say that value is 50 in this case.
Height

Graphics classes are useless in JSP files; you can only output HTML tags to the client browser.
You should be able to give just about any presentation look that you need with HTML and CSS. Have you played with styles? Here's a simple example that works in IE 5+ and Netscape 4.7:

How to draw a line???

I am a long time Photoshop user, but new to "Elements". I cannot figure out how to draw a line??? The Help says "To draw a line or arrow...... 1. In the Editor, select the Line tool." Ummm.....WHERE??? HOW??? If I knew how to select the Line tool I wouldn't have gone to the Help file.
Where is the "Editor"?? All I see at the top in the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" and the "Elliptical Marquee Tool" .....I see no Line tool on the left (where it used to be in PhotoShop) or on the top.

I use PEv.3. The line tool is accessed via the shape selection tool.
Click U. Hold the shift key as you drag and you will have a straight line.
Editor refers to the component of Elements utilized for enhancement and manipulation. Organizer in the Win version deals with storage and structured organization, as well as special projects.

Writing a custom plugin for Crystal Report Designer

Hi,
I need to add a custom functionality to Crystal Report Designer so that itu2019s available as a menu option is the CRD and should able to be selected by the Report Designer when they design a report using CRD. Is it possible to write and add custom plugins to the CRD? Is there a SDK available to do this or is there a specific method that I could use? Is this supported at all? I need to add the to Crystal Report Designer XI R2 but I could use Crystal 2008 is this is available in that version.
