How to drawString ontop of the sprite/layers

I am new to J2me. I got the problem to drawString ontop of the sprite. When you have layers on canvas, they will alway be drawn on the top, so whatever you use graphics object to draw (eg, drawString, drawRect) will be hidden by the layers. Any ideas how to solve this problem. can I draw a string as a sprite?
Btw, how to find out which line actually cause the exception in the stacktrace, like what we did in J2SE? Is that "bci=20" meaning something?

How can I change the text layers to a specific color at the same time and in the fast way?

I am using Photoshop CS5. I typed 65 text layers in my file and wish to change their colors to a specific Black Color, but I don't know how to select all the layers at the same time so that I can change all the text layers from Red Color to Black Color in the fast way. Now I only select one layer and then change. It means I must select and change 65 times for the text layers. Hope you can understand what I mean.

One way is to select all the text layers, select the type tool in the tool box
and set the color from the tool options bar.

How do you stack different photos in the editor layers pallet

How do you stack different photos in the editor layers pallet? I can get different photos in the editor, but I cannot figure out how to get different photos into the layers pallet at the same time. Please help!!!!!

Just to clarify, you can never see the layers panel for more than one photo at a time. The suggestions you got will show all the photos, but because they are now combined as layers in one image.
If you want to see more photos in the editor at once, go to the preferences>general and turn on Allow Floating Documents, then go to Window>Images>Float all in windows, then Cascade or Tile.
But you will still only see the layers panel for the image that is active at the moment.

How do you turn off the auto select behavior when working with shape layers?
I am using either of the path selection tools to select only some of the paths on the layer. I have the proper layer targeted. I have the selection too auto select option turned off.
If another layer has a path in that area, that layer becomes auto targeted and I get the wrong path. Turning off the layer is the only way to avoid this but then I have to turn on the layer back on between making my selection and transforming to use the other layer as guide. Is there any way to stop this auto select? Locking the other layer does not stop the auto select, just prevents editing.

As far as i know the move tool options don't have any effect on the path selection tools.
You might try clicking on one of the path points or on the path itself with one of path selection tools and if you want to select multiple points
you can shift click with the Direct Selection Tool or Alt click to select the entire path.

What happens if you select both the grunge and the image and in the Transparency flyout tick Make Opacity Mask? You may try different ticking/unticking and colours.

You can't delete the All On My Mac as it is an automatic group to display all of the contacts that are stored "On My Mac." You can delete all of the contacts that are in the ON MY MAC section by selecting All ON My Mac and then selecting all contacts. Press delete and approve the deletion. How do I export to PDF in InDesign without the hidden layers

Hi there
This is probably a simple solution but I am trying to export a document to PDF in InDesign without the hidden layers.
i.e - I have created a document that includes images etc from an existing PDF.
When I open the new PDF and use the 'find' tool, Pro is highlighting words on the hidden (original pdf).
I have tried exporting only the visible layers but is there a setting in InDesign that I can use to export only the visible content to pdf?

Even if you mask off part of a PDF, or place a white rectange on top of it, the text will still be selectable. Other than with raster images, InDesign is not smart enough to clip off parts of a PDF (or rather, it's smart enough to leave them as they are). PDFs can contain incredibly complex objects, and any clipping routine would probably make as many mistakes as it solves problems.
Introduce a small Transparency to this image or one on top of it, then export with Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3) settings. Since that old version does not support native transparency, ID is forced to redraw the image, and then it will clip off excess data.

How do I save only the VISIBLE objects in AI to Pdf or jpeg.

I have multiple layers but only want to save the currently visible elements objects out in a PDF or JPEG,
how do I do this without having to tediously double click each layer and choose "do not print" (layer).
would be nice to have a preference in prefs to "not print hidden layers".

You can choose to have your non-visable Illustrator layers preserved but invisible in your PDF, or removed completely. To remove them, select Acrobat 5 compatibility or earlier, or deselect the preserve layers option. If you include your invisible layers there is a possibility they will re-appear in some PDF viewers.

How Can I get extend of ThemeBasedFOI layers

Hi,
I am trying to figure out how I can get extend of ThemeBasedFOI layers. With this information I try to center my theme based FOI.
So far I tried two ways:
- My first trial was getLayerBoundingBox method of ThemeBasedFOI class. However the resulting SdoGeometry was the extend of the whole map. After I zoom out/in, pan I can not center my FOI with getLayerBoundingBox result.
- My second trial was getFOIDataEntries method of ThemeBasedFOI class. Through iteration (of FOI data) I try to find layer extend. However, when the layer content was polyline or polygon the method was failed. Since I can only reach the first coordinate of the foi data entries. The failure was dramatic if there is only one FOI data in layer (for this case I can not even has clue about the extend).
How can I get ThemeBasedFOI extend (now and future)? I also wonder if there is anybody there getting the true result from getLayerBoundingBox method. I also expect that I will utilize this method in future without any problem.

I understand that having a preset text that you did not want can be a bit frustrating when sending out text. To clarify, is the preset message like a signature at the end of your text? Does this only happen in text messages or when your send emails also? Is your SMS delivery confirmation on? Messaging>Settings>SMS delivery confirmation.

How to make a ramp affect other layers

I'm trying to create a lower thirds that will include some motion, otherwise I might try Photoshop for this. But basically, I'm trying to create a gradient using ramp in AE so that the lower thrids I've created fades away on the sides. Similar to the image I've attached. I don't know how to make the layer that I put the ramp effect on affect the other layers. Can anyone help?

Dave's method is great.
Like all things AE, there are many ways to accomplish the same thing.
Some alternatives are: Make a black & white gradient ramp on one layer, and use it for a track matte on another matte. You can also use the Set Matte effect to copy the alpha of one layer to another.
There are direct ways to create alpha ramps using 3rd party plug-ins like Ramp Alpha that's in Red Giant's Key Correct and Image Lounge.

Confused about extending the Sprite class

Howdy --
I'm learning object oriented programming with ActionScript and am confused about the Sprite class and OO in general.
My understanding is that the Sprite class allows you to group a set of objects together so that you can manipulate all of the objects simultaneously.
I've been exploring the Open Flash Chart code and notice that the main class extends the Sprite class:
public class Base extends Sprite {
What does this enable you to do?
Also, on a related note, how do I draw, say, a line once I've extended it?
Without extending Sprite I could write:
var graphContainer:Sprite = new Sprite();
var newLine:Graphics = graphContainer.graphics;
And it would work fine. Once I extend the Sprite class, I'm lost. How do I modify that code so that it still draws a line? I tried:
var newLine:Graphics = this.graphics;
My understanding is that since I'm extending the Sprite class, I should still be able to call its graphics method (or property? I have no idea). But, it yells at me, saying "1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: Graphics.
