How to drill date (column )into month in xcelsius

Hi,
I am fresher to Xcelsius. I need to know how to drill the date column into month, then further drilling down month to day.
I have 2 columns
Date                       Revenue
1/1/2010                 452553
2/2/2011                  97992
3/5/2011                  23526
4/3/2011                 63563
If i click " 1/1/2011" date column, i need to see the corresponding month data in seperate chart( i need to get the detailed data).
I need to know how the datas should be arranged in excel.

Hi Abirami,
To filter out date, you can use calendar component in Xcelsius. This article explains how to use the calendar component in an interactive way.

Then with the help of an invisible combo box as explained in the article to could get just the selected month's data in bar chart.

I would suggest using a piece of Jython code for this. Something like this...

import os.path
filelist = os.listdir(E:\Accounting\documents\)
for file in filelist:
datestr = file[19:-4]
You'd need to work out what to do with datestr next... perhaps write it to a table or update an ODI variable with it.

Why the 1 iteration for loops?
Why the two Index Arrays? It is just trying to fix the problem created by the For Loops on the original 1-D arrays.
Both of those things are creating 2-D arrays that are complicating things and can be eliminated.
You can take your 2 1-D arrays, use Build Array and right click to set "Concatenate Inputs".
If you do have a 2-D array, you can use Reshape Array to make it a 1 column by N row 2-D array.

I wanted to know how is the data inserted into JTF_RS_SALESREPS.When we import the resources from CRM Foundation responsibilty the data will be inserted into jtf_rs_resource_extns.I think we need to run a concurrent program to transfer data from jtf_rs_resource_extns to JTF_RS_SALESREPS.
Which Concurrent program should be run?

You must be having Month Object right in your Webi?
User will be given opportunity to Select his/her required [Month]
Create variable as =Userresponse("Enter value for Month")same text as you are giving in the Prompt text....Name it as [UMonth]
Go to analysis tab..Filter..Add filter...[Month]=[UMonth]
always this report will run for the month user require

iam reading date from xml using vb.net and inserting it into oracle table.
the date value in xml file is in the format of "01012003".
i want to insert into oracle table.but iam getting an error "ORA-1843: not a valid month".
how to solve this problem.

That's not a date. It's just a string. Convert it to a date using,
DateTime d = DateTime.ParseExact("01022003", "MMddyyyy", null);
or
Dim d As DateTime = DateTime.ParseExact("01022003", "MMddyyyy", Nothing)
and then bind it to a parameter. ODP.NET will take it from there.
You should never be hard-coding the date literal into your SQL query.

Bring the second column into the Criteria Tab and Edit the Column format as per your needs. Once you ar done at the bottom Save the column 'as the system wide default for that column'. After saving remove the column from Criteria tab.
Next when u drill down to column 2 the formatting would appear automatically. Hope this helps!

How to combine date column and time column?

Hello all,
The question is pretty much as it says. I have two columns of data, one is in format 8/28/2014 and the other is in format 10:00 PM. Both are formatted as text because I got frustrated with numbers forcing me to only format things as Date AND Time. I want to be able to sort the list in chronological order, and I can't sub-sort columns. So, how can I combine them into one date+time column so that I can sort?

If your Date is in A and your Time is in B, the formula to combine them would be:
=A+TIMEVALUE(B)

Hi,
The Piecewise linear source (PWL) accepts data as voltage or current vs. time. You can find this part by selecting Place>>Component, go to the "Sources" group then select "Signal voltage sources". Place this part on the work area, double-click on it and there should be an option to open a .txt file.

Why is that I got different results for my queries?
Note that emp_date is indexed, so i dont want to use
a function to it.
QUERY1(full table scan)

QUERY2
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM EMP WHERE

Because your queries are different.
1) This one selects all records on 20 october, regardless of their time component
2) This one selects all records with an emp_date at least being 20 october 14:56:30 AND being smaller than 20 october 14:56:30. No record will ever satisfy this condition.
3) This one selects all records on 19./20 october at midnight 00:00:00

How can I display dates in half-months from dim_date table? like shown below:
Assume that 8/14/2012 is current date..
07/15 - 07/30 - no. of opties created between those dates
07/01 - 07/14 - no. of opties created
06/15 - 06/30 - ...
06/01- 06/14 - ...
How can display the dates in those buckets? Any ideas appreciated.
