How to drilldown query across Sheets
Hi,
I'm working with Bex 3.5. Actually I have defined a Query with characteristic 'Plant' in the rows. The idea is create a workbook based on this query but with the plant drilldown across different sheet. As an example:
Plant selection: Plant = A and Plant =B
Workbook view: Sheet 1 with correspondent values to Plant =A
Sheet 2 with correspondent values to Plant =B
Is it feasible? any help is welcome.

Thanks for your fast answer.
I try your proposal but unfortunately it doesn't works. The workbook is a dynamic one, I mean it can be refreshed based on the user selection condition, it means that when refreshing the new selection conditions inserted by the user will be applicable for the whole sheets.
The idea is create the sheets based on the user selection conditions. also I don't like to copy the same query and also change the filter conditions for the different plant (exists two many plants) and also this options will require a lot of maintenance work.

I get the error message: ORA-00903: invalid table name. Each sql statement works separately. I can take the 2 sql statements and concatenate them and get the XML output, but I seem to be doing something wrong using a data template.

Phil SlaterI was missing the GROUP part of the dataTemplate!
I didn't find the manuals that helpful with this. You have to add the datasourceref to each SQL:, and then add a GROUP in a DataTemplate.

How to build a query across parent and child object fields?
As a part of an Integration Requirement, I need to query Opportunity records that have been Modified after a specific date and time?
Now, Opportunity has a child object called ProductRevenue with a one to many relationship. Is there anyway I can construct a querypage that will fetch records whose Opportunity fields 'OR' its child ProductRevenue's fields have been modified after a specific date and time?
I have tried using the SearchSpec argument, but it does not let me query across child object fields.
For eg:-
ObjOpptyQueryPageInput.ListOfOpportunity.Opportunity.searchspec = "([ModifiedDate] > '01/01/2013 00:00:00') OR ([ProductRevenueData.ModifiedDate] >= '01/01/2013 00:00:00')";
[This above code written in C# thew me an error saying - The object Opportunity does not have an integration component called - ProductRevenueData.ModifiedDate.]

As far as I know this can't be done at once because you have to consider :
- Every Opportunity and their time-limited ProductRevenues
AND
- Time-limited Opportunities
If you want to achieve this, you have to consider the 2 datasets separately and make your first query :
ObjOpptyQueryPageInput.ListOfOpportunity.Opportunity.searchspec = "([ModifiedDate] >= '01/01/2013 00:00:00')";
but also another query with the restriction on the ProductRevenue Searchspec.
This shouldn't be too hard because the searchspec functionality is present at each level :
- ListOfOpportunity -> Opportunity (the top-level that you used for your query)
- ListOfOpportunity -> Opportunity -> ListOfProductRevenue -> ProductRevenue (the sub-level that you should use for the second query)
Then in your C# code, you merge the 2 datasets and you end up with your expected result.

Or you could use Heterogenous Services to treat Excel as an external database:
1- Go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Data Sources (ODBC)>System DSN and create a data source with appropriate driver. Name it EXCL.
2- In %ORACLE_HOME%\Network\Admin\Tnsnames.ora fie add entry:

5- Now connect to Oracle database and create database link with following command:

Database link created.
Now you can perform query against this database like you would for any remote database.

But after running the query in WAD(Web Application Designer), I am not able to see the functionality "Query properties" if right click the mouse of a field. But I could see "Properties". Please help me how to add "Query properties" in WAD template.

IF you want to see the accumulated balances you need to select the period from 0 to 12.
EX: you want to open the report up to period 6th 2009 and want see the figures including the carryforward balances from 2008.
then in selection screen select the from period = 0 and to period =6.

FieldPoint Explorer is no longer used to configure FieldPoint systems. However, I do not think that the configuring your system in FieldPoint Explorer is causing the error.
FieldPoint systems are now setup in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). Information on setting up FieldPoint systems in MAX can be found in the MAX help under: Installed Products>> FieldPoint. Also, I recommend upgrading to the latest FieldPoint driver and version of MAX. The FieldPoint VI's will be slightly different when you upgrade, so there is a good chance that this will eliminate the error.

How to use query-database() function in transformation?
It is giving four fields but if i write select query in sqlquery field it is saying select node is not found....

Need to find out how much % of query completed from OEM
Need to find out how long will a query take to run or when I am running the query where can I check to see that X% of my query is complete.
Is that % shown on OEM --> Performance --> Top Activitity?Under OEM/GC of release 10g you won't be able to see how long the query will take neither how much % of a query are already finished.
I know that this functionality was given in the old release of the OEM (javas based GUI with ll the databases on the left side). I'm missing
that old functionality, too... -

I have to open an excel file from report and display a value in a cell, based on that value in excel, macros will automatically trigger and the remaining data will fill in excel sheet.
This sheet i need to convert as pdf and sent as attachment to mail.

I know how to do with word documents using OLE. But i dont know how to work with Excel sheets.
I have worked on word documents like displaying data in word document from SAP and saving it into local system.
But here my requirement is i need to pass pernr to a cell in an Excel sheet, based on pernr in excel some macros will trigger and fill the details. After that, the filled sheet i need to convert as pdf and sent as mail.
