I’ve created a shared component – list. Now I don’t see an option for dropping it. I can delete individual list entries, but not the list its self. Further -I was able to create another list with the same name…
I’ve done a mistake of creating a “list” with vertically ordered list entries. Now I want to drop this list and create a new one (with the same name), but this time with horizontally ordered list entries.

Hi Daniel,
go to Shared Components -> List, pick your List, click the "Edit List", now you'll see the "Delete" Button.

JComboBox doesn't really need to know about its parent to draw over the top. You need to understand how a GUI is constructed to understand how things overlap one another. I actually don't know of a really basic tutorial on GUIs that covers component hierarchies. You should read the [url http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/learn/index.html]Swing Tutorial anyway but I've always felt it's based too much on examples.
In general, though, you have to understand that things are stacked on top of one another in a GUI. This is called a component hierarchy. You have a top-level container with nested components. Each component can be a container which contains other components. Each component is painted from the top of the hiearchy to the bottom, which translates to painting from the back to the front so that what you ultimately see is the result of a lot painted components.
As an example, imagine a deck of cards. If you look at them from above, you see only the top card. If you fan them out, you see parts of each card and all of the top-most card. A GUI is structured and painted the same way.

I'm not that familiar with how FaceTime works. I know how to set It up but I don't use it. I just know that you can't activate in the UAE. I believe that you can activate in any country that permits it's use. Whether you will need a new ID or not, I can't confirm.
You can Google this and get all sorts of articles on workarounds. Apparently if you set up a VPN you can use it in the UAE. Here is one article that I found.

How to populate list component via xml file?

Generate a Shared Component LIST in XML or JSON format

I am using the LIST functionality within the Shared Component area of our application in order to maintain a menu/navigation list. I'm utilizing all of the features of the LIST Shared Component -- links, authorizations, conditions, comments, etc. This list will appear on every page, so I'm putting it on page zero.
I'd like to get this list in an XML, JSON, or some format so I can manipulate it in javascript to display it. I guess another way to put it is that the template options for a LIST template seem to be very detailed and specific (which is great in general) and I am looking to just get the data out and display it myself.
I can easily enough write a SQL query to produce the hierarchy proper hierarchy of the list, but I would be circumventing the method ApEx uses to implement all of the conditions and authorizations on the entries. I see there are APIs for both generating the list and also checking conditions, but neither of them are accessible to my custom schema and I wasn't sure if I should even attempt to reproduce them.
Basically, I'd like to use the built-in functionality of the LIST Shared Component, but use my own display methods.

How to make hidden Drop Lists functional in RBList Subforms?

I have created a form that contains 3 isolated Radio Button lists, each with hidden subforms that are unique per each button.
Two of my RBLists and subforms work perfectly, showing hidden Drop Down List options and other fields as they should when a button is selected.
However, RBList3 presents the Drop Down lists as user entry fields only. Each hidden subform in RBList3 contains one drop down menu and one text box for instructions.
I've used the same javascript to hide/show hidden fields when buttons are selected. All settings seem to match up. Here is a sample of my code:

Hi All,
I have created List (Shared Component - Lists).
Now my List has multiple List Items (List Entries).
I have created that, but my problem is I want each List Entry to appear on a new line.
I have used Sidebar Region, Alternative 1 as the template for displaying the list on the Page.
Hoping for a quick solution from some one.

For the List Properties select Vertical Unordered List with Bullets.
Shared Components > Lists > (Select the List Name).
Click the Edit List Button and then Select the List Template as Vertical Unordered List with Bullets.

I figured out where I missed your point. When you wrote

I was thinking mixed data-types in a [2d] table!
Looking at the property browser again it looks like no single LV function can do all of that. It can be developed as a pop-up (like the browser is set-up) and then code all of the elegance using an event structure to control the background color of a string indicator while controling the visability of rings that are only made visable when a mouse down is detected. That will get you pretty close.
So no, my previous response ws not correct for what you are trying to do if you want to duplicate all of the wistles and bells of the property browser pop-up window.

The view object/drop list must be filtered depending on from which jspx it is called.
So the filtering is done when user enter the page.

Since I don't know the actual source of your method, I can only guess what exactly is going on in there.
One common mistake people do is creating a new instance of the AM instead of using the existing AM instance that is used in the ADF page - so check if this is the case.
I would recommend that you move up to JDeveloper 10.1.3 which has way better support for JSF and way better documentation on this type of topics - for example in the ADF Developer Guide for 10.1.3 you'll find this topic about accessing the AM from Struts:

JDeveloper 10.1.3 has a newer version of ADF that has excellent integration with JSF instead of the old Struts - and it can deploy to an OAS 10.1.2 server:

How to lengthen the drop list view in form page selection?

Hi All,
Looking at 11.1.2.1 Planning, it's annoying that I can only see 10 members at a time when scrolling through the page drop list in forms:

In 9.3, one is able to see a much longer list.
Is there a way to globally customize the length of viewable members in the dropdown, so that I see 20 or 30 members at a time, for example?

did you change it with the Application owner login(log in id using which the application created) and save it after making the change.
it is working absolutely the way you are expecting in my system. i login with Admin id and made the changes and saved it and my serch box incresed with number of members.

How to make list show up "selectively" on different regions?

Hi,
By default, "list" is in the Shared Component.
Is there any way I can make the "list" NOT shared? Meaning that I want to control which "regions" the particular "lists" will show up or not.
For example:
On my APEX Home page, I want to have 5 Forms (Form1-From5) for the user to select from. And each Form contains 3 sub-forms: New Entry, Update and Delete.
So on the Home page, I defined 5 regions (for Form1 - From5), and within each region, I have 3 "lists" for New Entry, Update and Delete and in turn each list calls appropriate form to perform "New Entry", "Update" or "Delete" accordingly. It looks something like the following:
Form1
Form1NewEntry Form1Update Form1Delete
Form2
Form2NewEntry Form2Update Form2Delete
and so forth.
However, since the "list" is shared components, whatever lists that I define in Form1 show up THROUGHOUT ALL 5 forms, that is "Form1NewEntry" and "Form1Update" and "Form1Delete", which is NOT what I want. Is there a way I can use "Condition" to make the "lists" show up in "region" (NOT page) selectively? And how (since there are MANY options in the "Conditions")?
Or if not, could you suggest the alternative way of doing it? (ie: Form1 -> subformNewEntry
-> subformUpdate
-> subformDelete)

I have a similar requirement. I have several tabs (Operations, Maintenance, Safety, etc.) and users get individually assigned rights. I have a table where I have all the users listed and I added one column for each tab so I can set whether or not that user has access to that tab. You could go the same thing with groups if you want.
Basically, my table looks like this:
USER_ID, USER_NM, PWD_HASH, SAFETY_TAB, MAINT_TAB, OPER_TAB, etc.
where each of the _TAB fields is set up as a VARCHAR2(2) for just Y/N.
On my home page, I assign an APPLICATION_ITEM called G_USER_ID (Global User ID) on login so I can track who it is. Then I set the condition statement on the tab to SQL QUERY RETURNS AT LEAST ONE ROW
using the following query:
select SAFETY_TAB from APEX_USERS
where SAFETY_TAB = 'Y'
and USER_ID = :G_USER_IDThis example would be for the Safety tab, but you can easily substitute others. It works pretty slick.

This code is just a sample from the Help documentation. It won't work until you modify it for your form.
Why do you have "steps" in your code? You are suppose to do what the steps tell you. You don't place the steps in your code. The steps must be removed from your code.
Step 1 code goes in a program unit, not in a trigger.
Step 2 and 3 code usually goes in a trigger.
You will have to replace the names of the items and record group with your own names as you have defined them in your form.
step 1: create a procedure in your application

I'm implementing the SharePoint client object model in my VSTO application in .NET framework 4.0(C#).
Actually we open MS Word files from SharePoint site, we need to create a folder inside the opened documents list/folder and after it we want to upload/add some files to that created folder.
My problem is that how to get list name/title and folder name of opened document by using the documents URL or Is there an another option to find the list or folder name of opened document.
