How to edit the existing ALV grid output variants

Hi experts,
The requirement states that I need to rearrange the existing output layout of the ALV & add a few fields in it. Currently, the output layout is stored as a variant. The program uses the FM LT_DBDATA_READ_FROM_LTDX, to load the fields associated with the variant.
Please explain how can i modify the existing variant? If not, then how to create a new variant?

You may use one of those FM
- REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_SELECT and REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_SAVE
- LVC_VARIANT_SELECT and LVC_VARIANT_SAVE

How to supress dialog while ALV Grid output is send to Spool

Hi,
I need to get the ALV grid output in spool.But when i am executing my program using ALV grid function module with print parameter passed,first its giving a popup with default printer and number of copies and when i press ok for the popup ,spool request is created.But i dont want this popup to come while executing my program.It should create the spool request directly. How to solve this issue.

Try the below parameter in IS_PRINT Structure:
is_print-print = 'N'.
This will Supress the Dialog and create a Spool with no Immeadiate Output.

I want to Edit the checkbox in Grid Display.
I have one checkbox field in my internal Table,
Code Of the Program,
Data :
Begin of itab occurs 0,
CHK type C,
MATNR like MARA-MATNR,
end of itab.
Iam building the fieldcatelog using Merge Funcion module.
After that I am chaning the properties of the field
catelog like below,
loop at I_FCAT assigning <FCAT>.
Case <FCAT>-Fieldname
When 'CHK'.
<FCAT>-Checkbox = 'X'.
<FCAT>-INPUT = 'X'.
I dont have edit option in fieldcatelog.
modify I_FCAT from <FCAT>.
endcase.
endloop.
In the Layout,
I_LAYOUT-box_fieldname = 'CHK'.
I_LAYOUT-box_tabname = 'ITAB'.
It is displaying the Checkbox field.but I couldnt edit the checkBox.
I can able to edit in REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY.
But I have to use REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.How to edit the checkbox.

The below procedure explains you to create a checkbox cloumn in the grid and allows you to edit i hope this will helps u.
The ALV Grid Control displays the cells of a column as checkboxes if the column is marked as a checkbox column in the field catalog.
 Add another field to the output table in which you want to display checkboxes
OR
 Define an existing field as a checkbox.
Procedure
1. Add a field to your output table:
Data: gt_fieldcat type lvc_t_fcat.
Types: begin of gs_outtab.
Types: checkbox type c. "field for checkbox
Include structure <ABAP Dictionary structure> .
Types: end of gs_outtab.
Data: gt_outtab type gs_outtab occurs 0 with header line.
2 * Add an entry for the checkbox to the field catalog
clear ls_fcat.
ls_fcat-fieldname = 'CHECKBOX'.
* Essential: declare field as checkbox and
* mark it as editable field:
ls_fcat-checkbox = 'X'.
ls_fcat-edit = 'X'.
* do not forget to provide texts for this extra field
ls_fcat-coltext = text-f01.
ls_fcat-tooltip = text-f02.
ls_fcat-seltext = text-f03.
append ls_fcat to gt_fieldcat.

How to send the ALV GRID output to spool by using the print button in std t

How to send the ALV GRID output to spool by using the print button in standard tool bar.
We have created a button in the va02 transaction. If user click on the button the new screen will be display on that screen we are populating the alv grid output using the oops concept. But i am unable to send the output to spool using the print button in the standard tool bar.
I am able to display the Print parameter dialog box but i am not able to send it to spool.
Kindly help.

How to append ALV grid output to LIST output

Hi,
I am working with Basis AUDIT MANUAL report for which i have to integrate around 50 standard transactions (SM37,SM35...etc) output and make it into one single report.
On execution of my report i have to get all the 50 transaction outputs sequentially.
Some standard transactions have ALV list display output and some have GRID display.I can able to append only list outputs by submit program and exporting list to memory.
Please suggest me how to get Alv grid output in midst of list output.

 I am trying to make a column editable in an ALV grid. For that I wrote the following code. In the below code I have set the 'edit' field of ls_fcat to 'X'. But Iam getting Runtime error. Can anyone help in resolving this problem or suggest any method to make a column editable in an ALV grid.

but the each bolck in ALV is displaying different pages of PDF.
In my report I have 4 block in 1 page, I am able to see the output in PDF but in different page.
How to avoid the Page-break in PDF.

hi,
I believe that your have 4 containers on the screen with individual ALV display. in this case, there is no way to get combined PDF output to my knowledge.
However you can use Smartform/Sapscript as output which would allow you to display ALV in blocks and also print it in one.

Displaying the selected rows in ALV Grid output

I am developing one interactive ALV Grid report where user can process the selected records/rows from the ALV Grid output.
for displaying the ALV Grid, I have used the class CL_GUI_ALV_GRID class. I am working on ECC 6.0 system.
when I select any records/rows from output and then press any Application Toolbar button, PAI and then PBO modules of the screen gets executed as per the normal flow.
however After PBO, when same ALV output comes, all the selected/highlighted rows appear as unselected, that means I want to retain the ALV
rows selection during the round trip.
please advise.

F4 - Help for field in ALV Grid Output

Hi,
I generated a report which gives output in ALV Grid output.
In the output, 1 of the field is editable.Here, for this field I need to have my own F4-Help.
I think the procedure to be followed is:--
Create a Search Help in SE11.
Link the Search Help to the editable field.
Please let me know if its the correct procedure.
I f yes, how can I link user defined Search Help to the editable field?

Push Button in Every record in ALV grid output

For this requirement, you have to copy the standard PF status of the ALV output. Do as below :-
1) Go to SE41
2) Enter the program name as SAPLKKBL
3) In the field status enter STANDARD_FULLSCREEN
4) Click on STATUS button on the application toolbar.
5) Enter the name of your Program & a new status name.
6) Click on COPY.
This way the standard status will be copied to the custom status & call the same status in your program using SET PF STATUS statement. Then double click on the custom status name & you will be navigated to SE41, there you can add you new button on the application tool bar & assign a function code, which you can program by enabling the export parameter I_CALLBACK_USER_COMMAND of the Function module REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.
Just a sample code snippet for your reference :-
FORM USER_COMMAND USING L_UCOMM LIKE SY-UCOMM
LS_SELFIELD TYPE SLIS_SELFIELD.
CASE L_UCOMM.
WHEN 'your function code goes here'.
Do further processing.
This way you will have the standard PF status alongwith your button as well.
