    Hello
    For using FTP function in LabVIEW, I recommend you to check this document: FTP Basics
    Also, take a look at FTP Browser.vi, which is available at the Example Finder.
    To edit a XML file, try to use VIs in XML palette. Maybe Write to XML.vi helps you.
    Post your current VI if possible.

  • How to edit Idoc data in inbound processing

    Moved to correct forum by moderator
    Hi All,
    How to edit idoc data in inbound processing ? We have a custom FM in inbound scenario and requirement is to update a value in idoc, this value comes after certain processing in custom FM.
    I tried editing it through
    EDI_DOCUMENT_OPEN_FOR_EDIT
    EDI_CHANGE_DATA_SEGMENTS
    EDI_DOCUMENT_CLOSE_EDIT
    but there is problem in this approach. By this procedure two idocs are created in system, one with original data and one with modified data. We want only one with modified data.
    We do not want any direct database table updates.
    Please provide appropriate solution.
    Note : We are not changing status record. Please do not post replies related to status change
    Edited by: Matt on Nov 19, 2008 2:24 PM

    Hi,
    You can edit the idoc by doing the following steps:-
    1. Goto WE02 transaction and give the IDOC number and execute
    2. Once the required IDOC gets retrieved then double on the text pad icon beside the segment which you wanted to change.
    3. Select the Data Record at the top and click Display <-> Change option, which will enable you to change the data in that segment.
    4. After doing the step 3 then click the save button to save your changes.
    5. Then system will generate a new idoc number to store the actual data and your current idoc will hold the new data and the idoc will be in 69 status.
    6. Execute the Program RC1_IDOC_SET_STATUS by giving your idoc number and status as 69 and new status 64 and remove the test flag
    7. Then the IDOC will be in 64 status and you can reprocess the idoc with the help of the program RBDAPP01 by giving the idoc number.
    The above is the entire process for editing the error idoc and reprocessing it again.
    I hope I am clear and you understood the entire flow of editing and reprocessing an idoc.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh.

    Hi i need to write the data from an XML file to a Microsoft SQL SErver database!
    i got a piece of code from the net which allows me to parse th file:
    import java.io.IOException;
    import org.xml.sax.*;
    import org.xml.sax.helpers.*;
    import org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser;
    import java.lang.*;
    public class MySaxParser extends DefaultHandler
    private static int INDENT = 4;
    private static String attList = "";
    public static void main(String[] argv)
    if (argv.length != 1)
    System.out.println("Usage: java MySaxParser [URI]");
    System.exit(0);
    String uri = argv[0];
    try
    XMLReader parser = XMLReaderFactory.createXMLReader("org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser");
    MySaxParser MySaxParserInstance = new MySaxParser();
    parser.setContentHandler(MySaxParserInstance);
    parser.parse(uri);
    catch(IOException ioe)
    ioe.printStackTrace();
    catch(SAXException saxe)
    saxe.printStackTrace();
    private int idx = 0;
    public void characters(char[] ch, int start, int length)
    throws SAXException
    String s = new String(ch, start, length);
    if (ch[0] == '\n')
    return;
    System.out.println(getIndent() + " Value: " + s);
    public void endDocument() throws SAXException
    idx -= INDENT;
    public void endElement(String uri, String localName, String qName) throws SAXException
    if (!attList.equals(""))
    System.out.println(getIndent() + " Attributes: " + attList);
    attList = "";
    System.out.println(getIndent() + "end document");
    idx -= INDENT;
    public void startDocument() throws SAXException
    idx += INDENT;
    public void startElement(String uri,
    String localName,
    String qName,
    Attributes attributes) throws SAXException
    idx += INDENT;
    System.out.println('\n' + getIndent() + "start element: " + localName);
    if (localName.compareTo("Machine") == 0)
    System.out.println("YES");
    if (attributes.getLength() > 0)
    idx += INDENT;
    for (int i = 0; i < attributes.getLength(); i++)
    attList = attList + attributes.getLocalName(i) + " = " + attributes.getValue(i);
    if (i < (attributes.getLength() - 1))
    attList = attList + ", ";
    idx-= INDENT;
    private String getIndent()
    StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
    for (int i = 0; i < idx; i++)
    sb.append(" ");
    return sb.toString();
    }// END PRGM
    Now , am not a very good Java DEv. and i need to find a soln. to this prob within 1 week.
    The next step is to write the data to the DB.
    Am sending an example of my file:
    <Start>
    <Machine>
    <Hostname> IPCServer </Hostname>
    <HostID> 80c04499 </HostID>
    <MachineType> sun4u [ID 466748 kern.info] Sun Ultra 5/10 UPA/PCI (UltraSPARC-IIi 360MHz) </MachineType>
    <CPU> UltraSPARC-IIi at 360 MHz </CPU>
    <Memory> RAM : 512 MB </Memory>
    <HostAdapter>
    <HA> kern.info] </HA>
    </HostAdapter>
    <Harddisks>
    <HD>
    <HD1> c0t0d0 ctrl kern.info] target 0 lun 0 </HD1>
    <HD2> ST38420A 8.2 GB </HD2>
    </HD>
    </Harddisks>
    <GraphicCard> m64B : PCI PGX 8-bit +Accel. </GraphicCard>
    <NetworkType> hme0 : Fast-Ethernet </NetworkType>
    <EthernetAddress> 09:00:30:C1:34:90 </EthernetAddress>
    <IPAddress> 149.51.23.140 </IPAddress>
    </Machine>
    </Start>
    Note that i can have more than 1 machines (meaning that i have to loop thru the file to be able to write to the DB)
    Cal u tellme what to do!
    Even better- do u have a piece of code that will help me understand and implement the database writing portion?
    I badly need help here.

    You could use XMLQuery to return the data from your tables as XML, that would give you a CLOB.
    An example using the SCOTT schema might be like this:
    SELECT XMLQuery(
             'for $i in ora:view("DEPT")/ROW
              return <Department dname="{$i/DNAME}">
                     <Employee>
                       {for $j in ora:view("EMP")/ROW
                        where $j/DEPTNO eq $i/DEPTNO
                        return ($j/ENAME, $j/JOB, $j/SAL)}
                     </Employee>
                     </Department>'
             RETURNING CONTENT) FROM DUAL;In the docs you can find more information about its use:

    In other words I want to change the XML file data or edit and save.
    Thnx in advance.
    Regards

    Hello amit,
    No, not at all. Surely you will parse your XML file using the NSXMLParser class. OK! i think i get it now, do you wants to change/modify the value of any tag in the XML file? For that you will be required to parse your XML file using NSXMLParser class, and fill out some data structure (according to the the XML format) do some changes into your data structure, and then write your XML to the file (according to the edited data structure) using the method i told u earlier. This is what my preferred method is, and i am pretty much sure that it is not a bad way to do this at all.
    Hope this clarifies some of your queries.
    Best regards,
    Obaid

    Hi,
    The following should do it :
    SELECT xmlagg(
      xmlelement("series",
        xmlattributes(clef_var as "name"),
        xmlagg(
          xmlelement("point",
            xmlattributes( to_char(date1, 'DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI:SS') as "name",
                           to_char(valeur, 'fm0.0') as "y" )
    ).getClobVal()
    FROM evv_stpl
    GROUP BY clef_var;You may adjust the format in the 2nd to_char() so that it fits the range of "VALEUR".

  • How to Pass XML Data to a PDF Form and Load it into form fields

    I have xml Form data in a string. I would like open a programatically launch a pdf document and pass the xml data as one of the parameters and this xml data needs to load all the form fields.
    Any Idea as to how this can be done?

    I have the same requirement as Daminu, but from the research I have been doing it seems your reply is only partially true.
    If your PDF is an XFA PDF form, with Reader Extensions enabled, and you want to keep the Reader Extensions functionality for a user to use after your programmatic manipulation, then neither of these tools will work (FDFToolkit or iText).
    Upon the user opening the file once it has been programmatically modified, the user will see the following:
    From what I have read, this requirement can only be fullfilled by use of LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server?  Please confirm?

  • How to convert XML data into binary data (opaque data)

    Hi,
    I am trying to develop a process that delivers files after reading data from a database.
    However, it is required not to deliver the data immediately. We want to perform some checks before the files get written.
    So the way we want to design this is,
    1. Read data from database (or any other input). The data is in XML format (this is a requirement, as in general, we have xml data)
    2. This data is written, opaquely, to a JMS queue that can store binary data, along with what is the filename of the file that would be written (filename is passed using JMS Headers)
    3. When required, another process reads the JMS queue's binary data, and dumps into a file
    The reason I want to use opaque data while inserting in the JMS queue is, that enables me to develop a single process in Step 3 that can write any file, irrespective of the format.
    My questions are
    1. How to convert the xml data to opaque data. In BPEL I may use a embedded java, but how about ESB. Any other way....?
    2. how to pass filename to the jms queue, when payload is opaque. Can I use a header attribute...custom attributes?
    3. Which jms message type is better for this kind of requirement - SYS.AQ$_JMS_BYTES_MESSAGE or SYS.AQ$_JMS_STREAM_MESSAGE

    Ana,
    We are doing the same thing--using one variable with the schema as the source of the .xsl and assigning the resulting html to another variable--the content body of the email, in our case. I just posted how we did it here: Re: Using XSLT to generate the email HTML body
    Let me know if this helps.
