How to email BLOB as attachment or content of email itself??

Hi all,
I am working with Apex 4.2 and have below issue.
I have a table that accepts BLOB data(pdf and doc files). Now I need to perform the below :
A. Send the pdf / doc as attachment in email after it has been uploaded
OR
B. Send email where its contents are the actual file content ( i.e email content should be doc file content ) that is uploaded will be emailed as email to receivers.
I am not sure if any of the above can be done and if yes, how to do them? Can you guys help me locate any doc or resource where I can follow steps from and achieve the above.
TIA,
Swetha

  • How to send BLOB in attachement in oracle 10g?

    Hi,
Actuall we requried to send and email from Oracle 10g database having attachements big in size aprox 10 to 30 MB.
Is there any Custom Procedure or standard procedure for this.
We are using UTL_SMTP and UTL_MAIL (Only support RAW attachement upto 32 k in size).
    Regards

    Hello,
    using UTL_SMTP and UTL_MAILI think It's difficult.
But you can use DBMS_SCHEDULER, And DBMS_SCHEDULER is able to run OS command.
So You might be able to send email with attachment via postfix etc...
Although it might not have the solution for your req.

  • How do I send an attachment (photo) without it inserting itself into the body of the email?

Under attach, I selected file and then selected a photo. It appeared as an attachment outgoing, however, it was received inserted in the body of the email. Thank you in advance.

I think this depends on the recipient's mail client. Thunderbird, for instance, when used to view a received message with a picture attachment, will display the picture appended to the message. To a casual glance it would appear to be embedded into the message.
Send your messages using plain text (not HTML) and images ''cannot'' be embedded. If they appear to be embedded then it's the recipient's mail client to blame and therefore beyond your control.
You could zip your pictures to force them to be processed as attachments at the receiving end. ;-)

Use cfsavecontent to generate your page content.
Use cfdocument to create the pdf file
Use cfmail and cfmailparam to send it as an email
    attachment.

  • How To:  Create a link to gatewayed content (e.g. in email)

I apologize if this is too basic of a question but I can't find any results after looking for several hours.
I would like to generate a URL in an email that points to the portal and a specific portlet in the portal. The portlet has limited access rights so the URL should cause the portal to go through the login page and then redirect to the portlet. Can anyone point me to the documentation that describes this or give me an example?
    Thanks in advance!
    Mike

Using the PTARGS might also solve another difficulty I've encountered passing (dynamic) querystring parms to portlets through the gateway. Your example seems to work great for portlets, but now trying to access a Community page containing a portlet to retain branding elements.
For portal pages, should the ObjectID be the pageID (i.e PageID=0 for the default page) or is the ObjectID for a community page some other value (where in PlumDB is this stored) ? I changed the ClassIDView to 514 which should indicate a Community Page but it's still not loading my page. Adding to my confusion, the PTCOMMPAGES table stores the PageID as a negative value.
    Here's my example:
    http://portalserver/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_0_0_201_0_514/http%3B/portletserver/ApplicationName/default.aspx?querystring=value
    Any thoughts?
re: How To: Create a link to gatewayed content (e.g. in email) Posted by Mike Beniston 5/5/05 9:45:40 AM It turned out that I was pretty close.
If anyone else is interested, here is one way that works.
    The PTARGS are _0_userid(leave at 0)_objectid(of portlet)_communityID(if any)_0_ClassIDView(43 = view for portlet)
    "http://portalserver/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_0_348_208_0_43/http://portletserver/ApplicationName/pagename?querystring arguments.

  • How can I delete an attachment from a received email but save the message?

Hi all, how can I delete an attachment from a received email but save the message?*

Over the years this issue crops up again and again. Here are the cases I know about:
    Case 1 - it simply doesn't work
I have a message in my inbox with a jpeg of about 300Mb. Select message, choose option "remove attachment" which is not greyed out, and it does not work.
Case 2 - it works if you save the message first
I move the message from the inbox to a mail box. Open the mailbox (select), select the message, choose option "remove attachment", result: the attachment is removed, a small text file is added and an error appears in the message "missing plug-in". The message size is reduced from 300Mb to a few bytes.
Case 3 - the option "remove attachment" is greyed out.
I've googled this at least 10 times and read all the advice about editing various files from the library and all the other hacks. The simple truth here is that the user should not be inconvenienced by such inappropriate behaviour. We're not used to this from Apple any more, not since OS X. Even Windows does this stuff painlessly. In fact this kind of function is something that Outlook and Exchange do incredibly well. If they didn't the corporate world would have ground to a halt.
My point: the remove attachment option should work all the time and should be redesigned. Right-click + save as + delete in the message would be a hundred times easier.

Hi there, if there is text in the body of the email it will print automatically when sent to an ePrint email address. The only way to just have the attachment print is for there to be no text in the email body.
Hope that helps answer your question.

How do I add an attachment to an email and not have it show up in the body of the email?

You can right click or command-click on the image in the email and select "view as icon".
You can change the default behavior of Mail.app so that it always shows the attachment as the icon:
open a Terminal window (Applications > Utilities > Terminal)
at the prompt, type in this (it must be exact, or copy and paste it in if you have trouble typing things precisely):
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
    Then hit return.
To revert to the previous default (where the attachment is visible in-line), you just enter the same command with "no" instead of "yes" at the end.
In either case, however, how the viewer of the email sees the attachment (either as an icon or in-line) depends on how their email client is set up, not on how you send it.

How do I add an attachment to an email?

You can attach some items in an email by tapping where you want to insert the item. A choice to attach a photo will come up along with Select, Cut, Paste, etc.
Other items like PDFs or other documents can be attached by using the app that the document was created or edited with and using the share feature. The Share icon is a square with up pointing arrow.

How do I close an attachment in an email on my iPad?

I tried everything in this thread to no avail. The "Done" button would not appear. This is how I had success: From Home, I swiped the screen to the right to the search screen and searched for "Mail." The "Mail" icon was in the list of items. When I tapped on the mailbox, the attachment showed up again. However, emails in the "mail" also showed up. I tapped on the most recent one and was back into all of my emails. The attachment was circumvented.
