How to enable show SQL Query in Crystal report tool

Hi,
How can we enable the show SQL Query under Database tab in crystal report...
We have a requirement to modify the SQL query in Crystal reports.
Thanks,
Gana

Gana,
CR has an "Add Command" feature that will allow you to use hand-coded SQL as your data source.
Look at Defining an SQL Command in CR's online help (F1).
If a command was used in the original report creation, it's a simple matter to go in and edit that SQL.
If the report was not originally built w/ a Command you may find it difficult to switch over. In most cases it easier to start over from scratch, creating a new, blank report, that uses the command.

  • Modify SQL query in Crystal Reports 2013

    Bonjour,

    Hello,
    I wanted to know if it was possible to modify the SQL query in Crystal Reports 2013. Databases of our application library indeed use a particular date format that we need to fix directly into the SQL query.
    Thank you for your information.
    Best regards

    Hi Claude,
    If you are creating reports using tables then go in Database menu and click on show SQL query, this will show the SQL generated by crystal reports.  Now go in database expert and expend your connection and double click on Add Command and past the query which was generated by Crystal and try to modify the date format and click OK.
    Now you need to redesign your reports based on Add command.
    or
    If your reports datasource is Add command you can directly go in add command and change it.

  • See sql query from crystal report without crystal report

    see sql query from crystal report without crystal report

    Hi,
    Depends on datasource type but you could have a look at ODBC trace or if you have access to the SQL Server you could use profiler to monitor the session.
    Regards,
    Craig
    And this will only be of use if you know which Server/Insstance/Database the Report is connecting to...

  • How to map ECC Infoset Query to Crystal Report

    Hi All,
    I am using 25 standard SAP crystal reports which have been mapped on the top of ECC system. Some of reports are working well but some are not working due to unable to find query. The name of the report is Controlling Dashboard report and it has CO_OM_CA_20_Q1 query which I was unable to map on ECC using Crystal Report. I do not knw how to map ECC table infoset to Crystal report.
    Can anybody assist me to get solution?

    Hi Efstratios,
    Hope you are well!
    I am experiencing the same issue:
    unable to get this infoset query CO_OM_CA_20_Q1 in Crystal Report which is made on the top of ECC
    I followed the BI quick guide as well, I am on EPH 4 and I am able to see both the Query Infoset CO_OM_CA_20_Q1 and its related Infoset /SREP/CO_OM_CCA_20.
    But unfortunately, it wouldn't let me update the connection approprietaly.
    Is this something you can assist me with?
    Thanks in advance

  • Complete novice needs help getting SQL Query into Crystal Reports XI

    Post Author: MissMarnie

    So I was given an intro level web course and a monster reference guide in prep to format a report. One of our developers wrote me everything I need for the report into a SQL Query and now I'm supposed to format it in CR XII literally do not know what to do from here. I'm able to set up the correct server as a datasource, if that's useful, but I don't know how to make the querey into a bunch of formattable fields in  CR. If anyone can walk me through this, I'd be so grateful. I've attempted to look up SQL query in both the help and the book but I keep hitting a wall. The help dialog says things like "press this button" with no reference to what "this button" is. I'm sure it's obvious to the knowledgeable but I'm in a complete fog. Thanks in advance

    IF you're trying to get assistance with setting up a query as the source for a report, try posting your Crystal version and the database type.
    Different software works differently.
    In CR 9 and above, under the connection to the database you'll see Add Command. Select that and you can paste the query in.
    As for not knowing how to generate a report, that requires experience, there's no generic solution of course..

  • Crystal's "Show SQL Query" like feature for OracleReports

    Dear experts, after finding the solution for RDf to CrystalRPT conversion, i need to ask 3 possiblities rather asking the same solution millionth time :)..
    1. Does oracle have some tool, internal lab built etc as seperate downloadable to serve as Crystal's "Show SQL Query".
    2. Can OracleDesigner, OracleDiscoverer help in this regard, i found no Import RDF feature there
    3. Can Oracle Optmizer be intercepted to show what resultant SQL(s) it ran for that report.
    4. Is there any way to intercept, diagnnose the SQL runing at Database so we grab the SQLs from there.
    I have opened an RDF in Notepad and though SQLs etc are visible unencrypted still it seems work of months or years for me.
    very thank full.

    Can v$session, v$sql http://www.oracle-training.cc/oracle_tips_v$sql.htm help for this... how to see which SQLs are sent by a particular report by a particular machine.

  • Database - Show SQL Query question..

    Greetings:
        I am helping a co-worker with Crystal. I don't use crystal but I am able to explain the problem. My co worker is currently using crystal reports 8.5. If he pulls a query and the report is generated he can then click on Database menu then click on Show SQL Query. From there he is able to edit, add, remove fields. Now we want to place him on Crystal V10. When he does the same task, instead of being able to edit the Show SQL query he can only view it. Is there a way around this so that he can Edit the sql query in version 10 or did that feature go away in versions 9 and above. Also we are going to Purchase Crystal 2008, is this feature available in 08? Any help would be appreicated..

    Hi there!
    I have the same problem as described above.  I have been asked to figure out what is wrong with one of the reports that used to work when we used MAS 4.05.  We are now on MAS 4.20 with Crystal Reports v.10 and the report fails to run.  I loaded the report into Crystal to see if I could see the problem and I discovered that the report is still trying to access a table from the old MAS database.  The SQL code as shown in the Show SQL Query window is as follows:
    SELECT "AR_InvoiceHistoryHeader"."InvoiceNo", "AR_InvoiceHistoryDetail"."ItemCodeDesc", "AR_InvoiceHistoryDetail"."ItemCode", "AR_InvoiceHistoryDetail"."ExtensionAmt"
    FROM   "AR_InvoiceHistoryHeader" "AR_InvoiceHistoryHeader", "AR_InvoiceHistoryDetail" "AR_InvoiceHistoryDetail"
    WHERE  "AR_InvoiceHistoryHeader"."InvoiceNo"="AR_InvoiceHistoryDetail"."InvoiceNo" AND "AR_InvoiceHistoryHeader"."HeaderSeqNo"="AR_InvoiceHistoryDetail"."HeaderSeqNo" AND "AR_InvoiceHistoryHeader"."CommissionAmt"="AR_InvoiceHistoryDetail"."CommissionAmt" AND      ARO_InvHistoryDetail."SOItemNumber" <> 'COMMENT' AND      ARN_InvHistoryHeader."InvoiceDate" = {d '2007-09-21'}
    ORDER BY "AR_InvoiceHistoryHeader"."InvoiceNo"
    The problem is that ARN_InvHistoryHeader needs to be AR_InvoiceHistoryHeader and SOItemNumber needs to be ItemCode.
    When I go into the Database Expert, I can only see the tables in the FROM clause.  I don't know how to modify the WHERE clause.  It kind of looks like this report was only partially converted to the new version.  Is there a way to changed these attributes without rebuilding the whole report?
    By the way, I apologize for not setting my SQL off in a code box, but I tried that and it caused the page to be very wide with no horizontal scroll bar.

  • How to get select query for crystal report in c# code

    In C#, (Visual Studio 2008 ) I need to use the native Crystal Reports objects to get the complete SQL statement as it appears when you view it in Crystal Reports.
    In Crystal Reports 12.0, Go to "Database > Show SQL Query..." ... That is what I need to get via C# code. I can get bits and pieces of parameter info etc but I just want the whole SQL statement.
    How to get this?

    Hi Ganesh,
    It's simple to use RAS, include the assemblies and use this to open your report document:
    using CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine;
    using CrystalDecisions.Shared;
    using CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc;
    using CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers;
    using CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportDefModel;
    using CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataSetConversion;
    using CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel;
            CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument rpt = new CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument();
            ISCDReportClientDocument rptClientDoc;
    To open the report use:
         object rptName = openFileDialog.FileName;
                    rpt.Load(rptName.ToString());
                    rptClientDoc = rpt.ReportClientDocument;
    Then to get the SQL set the log on info:
                rptClientDoc.DatabaseController.LogonEx("10.50.212.77,1433", "xtreme", "sa", "password");
                GroupPath gp = new GroupPath();
                string tmp = String.Empty;
                rptClientDoc.RowsetController.GetSQLStatement(gp, out tmp);
                MessageBox.Show(tmp, "Data Source Set and SQL Statement", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information);
    Thank you
    Don

  • Show SQL Query is Incorrect

    Crystal 11.5.0.313
    I removed all conditions from the Select Expert but when I go to Database, Show SQL Query it includes a WHERE condition that is restricting the data.  The report doesn't have any commands but one may have existed in the past.  Is my report corrupt or something? How do I get it to "refresh" that SQL Query without having to recreate the whole report.
    Thanks.

    Try to update datasource from .Database Expert->Set datasource.
    Now refresh the report.

  • Show SQL Query

    I've inherited many existing reports.  They all access stored procedures in SQL Server 2000.  As I've been trying to study them, I've noticed a major disconnect between the sproc referenced in Database Expert and the 'Show SQL Query' window.  How can I sync these up?  And how can I modify the sproc call that's referenced within the Show SQL Query?  Using VS .Net, I've even looked at the underlying class file, and cannot find any reference to the actual sproc call.
    Thanks.
    Dave

    Hi David,
    Open the report in Crystal and go to Database | Set Datasournce Location.  You will then be able to logon to your database and select the Stored Procedure you want.  You will be prompted to set the parameters if there are any and chances are you will get a message saying the database has changed and asking if you want to update the report.  Say yes to that and the report should be using the updated Stored Procedure now.
    Unlike tables, Crystal is calling the Stored Procedure and executing it.  This is why you can't see the code for the query and just the Call.
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • How to view the sql query?

    hi,
      how to view the sql query formed from the xml structure in the receiver jdbc?

    You can view SAP Note at
    http://service.sap.com/notes
    But you require SMP login ID for this which you should get from your company. The content of the notes are as follows:
    Reason and Prerequisites
    You are looking for additional parameter settings. There are two possible reasons why a feature is available via the "additional parameters" table in the "advanced mode" section of the configuration, but not as documented parameter in the configuration UI itself:
    Category 1: The parameter has been introduced for a patch or a SP upgrade where no UI upgrade and/or documentation upgrade was possible. In this case, the parameter will be moved to the UI and the documentation as soon as possible. The parameter in the "additional parameters" table will be deprecated after this move, but still be working. The parameter belongs to the supported adapter functionality and can be used in all, also productive, scenarios.
    Category 2. The parameter has been introduced for testing purposes, proof-of-concept scenarios, as workaround or as pre-released functionality. In this case, the parameter may or may not be moved to the UI and documentation, and the functionality may be changed, replaced or removed. For this parameter category there is no guaranteed support and usage in productive scenarios is not supported.
    When you want to use a parameter documented here, please be aware to which category it belongs!
    Solution
    The following list shows all available parameters of category 1 or 2. Please note:
    Parameter names are always case-sensitive! Parameter values may be case-sensitive, this is documented for each parameter.
    Parameter names and values as documented below must be used always without quotaton marks ("), if not explicitly stated otherwise.
    The default value of a parameter is always chosen that it does not change the standard functionality
    JDBC Receiver Adapter Parameters
    1. Parameter name: "logSQLStatement"
                  Parameter type: boolean
                  Parameter value: true for any string value, false only for empty string
                  Parameter value default: false (empty String)
                  Available with: SP9
                  Category: 2
                  Description:
                  When implementing a scenario with the JDBC receiver adapter, it may be helpful to see which SQL statement is generated by the JDBC adapter from the XI message content for error analysis. Before SP9, this can only be found in the trace of the JDBC adapter if trace level DEBUG is activated. With SP9, the generated SQL statement will be shown in the details page (audit protocol) of the message monitor for each message directly.
                  This should be used only during the test phase and not in productive scenarios.

  • Help with SQL query into Crystal

    Afternoon all,
    I am trying to convert the following SQL query into Crystal by using the tables given in the query however the relationship given in the query is bit awkward, in a sense that I cannot create a relationship under Crystal desgin.
    Here is the query
    select count(order_progressed.order_no),reason_code
    from order_progressed,lab_reasons, rework_groups
    where
    order_progressed.date_created=Today
    and (order_progressed.order_status=from_gate
    and lab_reasons.reason_code between from_reason and to_reason)
    group by lab_reasons.reason_code
    order by 2
    We have three tables
    1: Order_Progressed
    2: Lab Reasons
    3: Rework_Groups
    Order_progressed can be linked with rework_group by Status (if you see the line order_progressed.order_status=from_gate)
    However how to link the following line?
    lab_reasons.reason_code between from_reason and to_reason
    I mean when I try to link it by Lab Reasons.Reason Code to From_reason, to reason, it doesn't seem to work.
    The report is grouped by Lab Reasons. Reason Code, so I really have to some how create a relationship between Lab Reasons table and Rework_Group table.
    This is what I get when I run the same query into Crystal using the relationship
    SELECT lab_reasons.reason_code, order_progressed.date_created, order_progressed.order_no
    FROM   maxmast.lab_reasons lab_reasons, kevin.order_progressed order_progressed,
    roger.rework_groups rework_groups
    WHERE  (order_progressed.order_status=rework_groups.from_gate) AND
    ((lab_reasons.reason_code=rework_groups.from_reason) AND
    (lab_reasons.reason_code=rework_groups.to_reason)) AND (order_progressed.date_created>={ts
    '2008-01-01 00:00:00'} AND order_progressed.date_created<={ts '2008-12-17 00:00:00'})
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks
    Kind Regards
    Jehanzeb

    Sastry I didn't understand why did you use Lab_reasons.reason_code twice in your SQL.
    What I have done since I posted this thread,
    I created a command like this
    Select *
    from rework_groups,lab_reasons
    where
    lab_reasons.reason_code between from_reason and to_reason
    Then I took out the lab_reasons table and rework_groups table, then I linked the order_status from Order_progressed table to From_gate of the newly created table (I called it Reason_Code).
    This made the report running but it is crunching quite allot of numbers. I wonder if I made a mistake somewhere?
    Oh and please note, I'd like to create an SQL (if need be) without the date entry which was done in the original SQL because I'd like to setup my own date range within Crystal Reports instead of getting passed by SQL itself.
    This is how it looks like in Crystal now.
    sae1_live
    SELECT order_progressed.date_created, order_progressed.order_no, order_progressed.order_status
    FROM   kevin.order_progressed order_progressed
    WHERE  (order_progressed.date_created>={ts '2008-01-01 00:00:00'} AND
    order_progressed.date_created<={ts '2008-12-17 00:00:00'})
    EXTERNAL JOIN order_progressed.order_status={?sae1_live: Reason_Code.from_gate}
    sae1_live
    Select *
    from rework_groups, lab_reasons
    where lab_reasons.reason_code between from_reason and to_reason
    EXTERNAL JOIN Reason_Code.from_gate={?sae1_live: order_progressed.order_status}

  • Show SQL Query Info

    It seems every portal user can use 'Show SQL Query Info' at application component manage page. How to disable it?

    In case anyone is interested I found 2 methods to get round this problem:
    1. First if you are calling the url directly you may need to convert some characters to their hexidecimal equivalent to make this be interpreted correctly by the browser.
    i.e. Space = %20
    % character = %25
    & character = %26
    So in the example I used this would become:
    ?p_arg_names=costcentre&p_arg_values=B15&p_arg_names=projsearch=%25Teach%25
    Binding:
    :cost_centre binding with B15
    :projsearch binding with %Teach%
    2. The second method is to use a pl/sql stored procedure to call the report passing the parameters in as follows.
    PORTAL_CUST.P11_PROJECT_SEARCH_RESULTS.show (
    p_arg_names => PORTAL.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2 (
    'parameter1:' ||
    'parameter2'),
    p_arg_values => PORTAL.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2 (
    p_parameter1_value || ':' ||
    p_parameter2_value));
    Cheers,
    Gary.

  • What Option Allows Permanent Change of Query in the Show SQL Query Window?

    I am trying to create a report in Crystal Reports v8.5 (or v10).  I would like to create the report by simply cutting and pasting an SQL query from SQL Designer into the appropriate place in Crystal Reports.  I can paste the query into the "Show SQL Query" window, but it reverts back to something else.  What Option do I change to allow me to do that, i.e, change the query in the "Show SQL Query" window?

    Hi Alan,
    In CR10 there is no option to past SQL qurety in Show Sql command option.  There is another option provided 'Add Commad' to execute customized SQL queries.  After connecting to your datasource before selecting tables you can choose Add Command option and past your SQL queries.
    Also you can modify the queries which you have pasted in add command.
    Thanks,

  • Discoverer Report showing Null VS Show SQL query showing results !!!

    I created a simple Cross Tab Discoverer report from a custom SQL which has a calculation for balances. The output is giving all null values even though there are balances. The output doesn't seem right. So I copied the query from Tools-->Show SQL and ran the query in the TOAD where I'm showing balances for the report. I don't understand why it is not showing in the discoverer. Please help.
