How to end a program

Hi, how is the best (and simple) way to end a Swing program ?
I want to make a button to end it, but I dint know the code inside.
thanks,

If you want the basic operations from your OS (like clicking the X in the upper right corner of a Window's OS), you can add the line:
myFrame.setDefaultCloseOperation(EXIT_ON_CLOSE); or for older JVMs, attach a WindowListner to the frame and have it's windowClosing method call the methods mentioned above.

    You don't need the awt-package for it.
    Also keep in mind that people don't know what this Console Object is; it's not in the standard java-packages. Here's a small example:
    import hsa.Console;
    public class TestWhileLoop
        static Console c;
        public static void main (String[] args)
            c = new Console();
            String entered = "";
            while(entered.equalsIgnoreCase("q") == false) {
                c.print("Please enter a String (or 'q' to quit): ");
                entered = c.readString();
                c.println("> you entered: "+entered);
            System.exit(0);
    }

  • How do you force DAQmx output to 0 at the end of program execution?

    I am using a 6713 to generate an arbitrary analog waveform on its output. However, once the labview vi has finished execution, the output voltage from the 6713 does not go back to 0 V. I have tried to force it back to 0 V by appending a 0 V amplitude waveform to the end of the analog waveform to mixed results (if I give it thousands of points, it goes to 0, but if I make it a more reasonable 100 points, it doesn't). How can I force the output back to 0 V. I tried stopping the task, clearing it, and stopping it and then clearing it. None of those worked.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    First, I have to ask, did you write this VI?
    It is very hard to follow and has a lot of confusing structures in it.  IN the middle area where a lot of the DAQmx functions are, the error wire loops around so much it is hard to tell what is happening in what order.  To the lower left, an array is converted to a cluster, the cluster is unbundled, the individual elements are fed to a compound addition to get a single value.  Why not just use a sum array function on the original array?
    The stop button is fed to the Stop Sign function.  This is Abort execution which is the same as hitting the red stop button at the top of the VI.  It ends the execution of the VI right then and there and doesn't allow anything else to happen.  Read the context help for that function.  As someone else has said on the forum,  "Using the Abort button is like using a tree to stop your car.  It will stop it, but there might be consequences."
    How is this VI being run?  Is the Run Continuous button being used?  My guess is yes because I don't see any While loops and the only thing the stop button does is end the program abruptly.
    You will need to rethink your whole architecture.  Stuff that needs to happen once should be set up before a while loop that has wires leading to the while loop or uses a flat sequence to make sure that it happens first.  This is you program initialization.
    Everything that happens repeatedly would be in the while loop.  The front panel Stop button is what ends this loop.
    Anything that has to happen before the program ends like closing out tasks happens after the while loop (either by wires for dataflow or in 3rd frame of a flat sequence structure.  With this, you should be able to reset your tasks so they output a zero voltage from the analog outputs before the tasks are closed and the program ends naturally.
    Appending a zero to the end of the waveform won't help because if the waveforms run continuously, it will restart back at the beginning.
    I would highly recommend looking at the example VI's for DAQmx functions and taking the tutorials for Labview that are available on the NI website.

  • Testing - No matter how the End Action is programed, I get an Error

    The project:
    1 master avi video 28 minute.
    19 button in several sub-menues.
    19 timelines, the master is cut on the timelines.
    All chapter 1 at 00:00:00 of each timeline linked to the buttons.
    Each timeline has only on chapter point, that is chapter 1.
    All timeline End Action are programed to go back to the button.
    The chapterpoint End Action are programed to go back to the button.
    Error: "Endaktion kann wegen der Endaktion auf letzter Kapitelmarke nicht ausgeführt werden"
    (English circa: "Endaction can't be executed because of the last chapter point"), this for all timelines. However, in preview the end action is executed.
    Correction: I correct the full list of timeline End Action errors.
    Error: now I get the error "End-Aktion nicht festgelegt"
    (English circa: No Endaction"), this for all timelines.Clicking any button no timeline is played.
    WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?
    THANKS!

    Thanks!
    Okay, the error message doesn't appear when the end action of chapter point #1 is removed, and the end action from the timeline works.
    So when a timeline has multiple chapter points, the end action on chapter points #1, #2, #3 etc. are only for linking to the next chapter. But for the last chapter point in a timeline there should be no end action programed, this would create the error, in other words the end action for the timeline is doing that...
    ... is that right?

  • How to schedule a program in background after 5 or 10 sec

    Hi All,
           Can anyone tell me how to schedule a program after 5 or 10 sec in background after the transaction is completed.
    It is not a custom transaction. I want to execute a Z program in background  in a BADI

    Programattically?   You can add this code to the end of your transaction(if it is custom, of course).
    report zrich_0004 .
    data:   sdate type sy-datum,
            stime type sy-uzeit,
            l_valid,
            ls_params like pri_params,
            l_jobcount like tbtcjob-jobcount,
            l_jobname  like tbtcjob-jobname.
    start-of-selection.
    * Get Print Parameters
      call function 'GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS'
           exporting
                no_dialog      = 'X'
           importing
                valid          = l_valid

           exporting
                jobname  = l_jobname

      submit <your_program_name
           via job     l_jobname
               number  l_jobcount
           to sap-spool without spool dynpro
               spool parameters ls_params
                  and return.
    * Kick job off 10 seconds from now.
      sdate = sy-datum.
      stime = sy-uzeit + 10.
    * Schedule and close job.
      call function 'JOB_CLOSE'

      /*System.out.print("Current MAC address : ");   */
      StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder();

  • How to close external programs?

    Hi there,
    in vbs is a command "ExtProgram(ExtProgramName, ExtProgramArg)" to
    start external programs. But how to  close external programs when
    they finished its work? Is there a vbs-command for it? Is there a way
    when calling "cmd.exe" with a proper parameter?
    Martin Bohm

    Hello Martin!
    Yes, with the tool 'tasklist' in the same directory.
    The problem is that it is not easy to query from script. I tried it in the following script. Perhaps not perfect espacially because a command interpreter pop up every time you call the function.Option Explicit
    If IsDIAdemRunning() Then
    Call MsgBox( "At least one DIAdem is running!" )
    Else
    Call MsgBox( "No DIAdem at all!" )
    End If
    Function IsDIAdemRunning()
    Dim oWshShell
    Dim oExec
    ' Execute via Shell Object
    Set oWshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
    Set oExec = oWshShell.Exec( "C:\windows\system32\tasklist.exe /FI ""IMAGENAME eq DIAdem.exe""")
    ' wait until tasklist is finished
    Do While oExec.Status = 0
    Pause(1)
    Loop
    ' no Standard Output -> no DIAdem running
    IsDIAdemRunning = Len(oExec.StdOut.ReadAll) <> 0
    End Function
    A better solution might be possible via WMI.

  • How to Find Which Programs running in my Domain Computers

    How to Find Which Programs running in my Domain Computers.

    In addition, there are other third tools you can use. Here is a script from the TechNet Scripting Gallery:
    List All Installed Software
    Returns a list of all software installed on a computer, whether or not by Windows Installer. This script reads installed applications from the registry. (See Richard Mueller's comment on how to output it to a CSV file)
    http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/8035d5a9-dc92-436d-a60c-67d381da15a3/view/Discussions
    Of course that's just running it against one computer. There's also a script in the above link (scroll to the bottom) that will find installed software of a list of computers in a network and also detect the defined forbidden installed software, and
    another script that will uninstall that software remotely.
    Overall however, if you want to do this network wide with much a much easier method (although more complex to setup), I agree with using SCCM or Spiceworks. There is also Altiris, and a number of other third party solutions that you can use.
    Maybe if you can provide more specific information on the end result of the solution you are looking for, we can provide more specifics to help you.

  • How to generate a program counter

    Hi, buddies.
    I face this situation that I want to make a counter to count how many user run a special program(report or function module) in R/3 which will consume lots of resourses during the operating. I hope to utilize the counter to limit the numbers of the user.
    I am wondering whether there is global parameter I can use or there is another method to realize my requirment.
    Looking forward your replies.
    Thanks in advance.
    Alex

    Hi,
    Use IMPORT, EXPORT statement to achieve this..
    Have this code at the end of the program..
    DATA: V_RUN TYPE INT4.
    Get the counter..
    IMPORT V_RUN FROM DATABASE INDX(ST) ID 'PGM_RUN'.
    Increment by 1 to know to how many times this program has been executed.
    V_RUN = V_RUN + 1.
    Update the country
    EXPORT V_RUN FROM DATABASE INDX(ST) ID 'PGM_RUN'.
    Thanks,
    Naren

  • How to program a midi foot controller on Mainstage? Does anyone knows how to program the foot controller with exclusive solo channel in order not to dance "tip tap" while from clean guitar I go to crunch or solo? How to do this programming on Mainstage?

    How to program a midi foot controller on Mainstage? Does anyone knows how to program the foot controller with exclusive solo channel in order not to dance "tip tap" while from clean guitar I go to crunch or solo? How to do this programming on Mainstage?
    I basically managed to learn how to invert parameters which allows me to be as default in the clean guitar channel and if I switch the first button on the midi foot controller I switch to crunch, but at this point I tryied so hard to programm the second and third button to switch, only through a button in one step, to a third channel for distorsion or a 4th channel for solo guitar but I couldn't figured out how this work can be done!
    I would appreciate if anyone could help or share this experience with others who are experiencing the same problem.
    Cheers.
    F.

    I cannot seem to get mainstage to recognize my FCB either. I am using IFCB. Anyone figure this out?
    Thanks,

  • How to do this program?

    Hi all.
    I would like some help on how to create a program.  Im still very new to the Labview program so any help would be greatful.
    Now granted that, heres my issue, ive got an assignment for a class that i have no idea where to start.
    Heres the assignment:
    You have a discount coupon that gives you a ten cent per gallon discount up to 15 gallons.
    You purchase regular gas which is priced at $3.56 a gallon, you give the clerk $30.00 to purchase that much in gas.  After applying the discount, how much would you actually have to pay?
    For the controls and indicators, i need to show the Amount Tendered, the Discount, Gallons purchased, the Final Price and Discount Amount.
    As ive said above, i have no idea where to start with this.
    THanks all.

    Actually i dont have the math worked out as of yet since i have no idea how to do the math that will apply to the program.
    Then you need to work out the math first. This has nothing to do with LabVIEW or programming.
    For each terminal, decide if it is an input (something the user controls) or an output (something the program will calculate based on the values of the other controls). Have you done that?

    Also i dont know which tutorial would work for this.
    Whatever you just learned in class is probably sufficient. Else start the tutorials in order to learn the basics.
    LabVIEW Champion . Do more with less code and in less time .

  • How to run a program as an administrator from within a non-elevated command prompt?

    I have a project that is going to be running on a kiosk, and the user that is running the kiosk software is going to be restricted.  I have an alternate administrator account, but I cannot seem to figure out how to open my program running as this administrator
    user.  I have tried to use runas, like so:
    runas /user:admin kiosk.exe
    However, when I try to run this command, it asks me for the password of the administrator account and my program doesn't open correctly.  It fails to open at all.  If I change the run as to a start command, then the program executes fine so its
    not a problem with my software.
    Is there a way to pass a password parameter to runas so that it will not prompt for the password every time?  If there is not, can someone think of another way for me to elevate my process to administrator without being logged in as one through the
    command prompt?

    Hi KevinGEAR,
    You want to allow the others without the administrator`s level to run this software and  meanwhile the administrator is not logged in, right?
    Here is an alternative solution :
    1.To work with this solution, a built-in administrator account should be enabled and meanwhile you can create a standard account. The built-in administrator account is different from the administrator account you created.
    To enable built-in administrator account:

    2. Use the following code
    runas /user:ComputerName\Administrator /savecred "Full path to program's exe file"
