How to Enumerate infoObjects in a Query

I'm intersted in listing all infoObjects in a particular BI query. I've found several posts to this forum which list relevant tables such RSRREPDIR, RSZELTDIR, RSELTTXT etc. However, I have not found the table which provides the linkage for the infoObjects used in a particular query. At best, I can locate the variables used in a query. I need to list the characteristics and key figures in a given query.
Is this possible? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi David,
Tables RSZELTXREF and RSZELTDIR would be sufficient.
Take an excel.
Go to RSZELTXREF. In SETUID give query technical definition name like (ASFWDSVD.....).
Run.
You will get a lits of TELTUIDs.(ie a lis of records)
Copy all TELTUID' in column in excel.
Now copy these TELTUIDs as multiple values in RSZELTXREF in SETUID
Again copy all TELTUIDs and append it to the existing records in Excel.
Keep doing this until you get no records in RSZELTXREF.
Now your TELTUID column is ready.
Take all these values to RSZELTDIR and coopy them to ELTUID as multiple values.
In the default hin it will show you your characteristics and key figures
There is one more bery easy way.
Run a program RSRQ_QUERYDEFINITION, give a query name, check all the boxes and run
I am sure you will like this way
Hope it helps,
Best regards,
Sunmit.

  • How to include 0STOCK_VAL in a Query based on APO DataSource?

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to include *0STOCK_VAL" from Inventory to the APO InfoCube. But the problem with this is, this particular KeyFigure is not present in the APO hence it cannot be included in the APO DataSource i.e. we cannot get this from the Source System.
I checked the Production system, 0STOCK_VAL InfoObject is avaiable in one of the InfoCube but it is not present in any DSO's. Since it is not present in any of the DSO's we cannot write a Routine to read it from any of the table.
I even thought of including the InfoCube where 0STOCK_VAL is present into a MultiProvider along with the APO InfoCube. I can define the joining condition based on Plant and Material. But if I drill down any other characteristics which are not common in both the  InfoCube then we will have a blank line in the Query which is not recommended.
But this KeyFigure is very much needed in the Query.
My question is how to include this in the APO InfoCube or How to get this in the Query with values??
Can anybody please help me on this.
    Thanks in advance.

    hi Matt,
In your example like a transaction was paid for with a payment type of PTAM, then you need all the transaction details. I suppose that all the required transaction details along with payment type PTAM will be loaded into an infoprovider and you run a report on top of this infoprovider. Then for that report you need to have a selection screen variable for Payment Type and if the user enters the payment type PTAM, then he can get all the other transaction details from the infoprovider.
Let me know if i don't understand the requirement correctly.
    Hope it helps....

  • BEX Query - Run time char InfoObjects manipulation for query results

    Hello Experts,
Iam working on BEX queries to meet following requirements,
    1)  Display only first 2 char of an InfoObject in the query results. Actual infoprovider has 24 char for this InfoObject. Example: Summary code FABCDXXXX.. But we want to show only 'FA' in query results
    2) We split a 120 char description into two 60 char InfoObjects, we need to concatenate the split char into one for query result display
    3) We need to show a specific hierarchy level, nothing before or after. For example: Eighth level for a cost element hierarchy.
    4) We need to show a constant in a column (which is not there in the table)
We are planning to use both BEX analyzer and Crystal for the reports.
I read in one of the thread that we can use formula variables/Customer exit for this but iam not very clear, if you know how to do it or if you have any step by step procedure, can you please pass it to me. Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Raman

Thanks for quick response. We have users who need BEX analyzer, is there any way to handle the above requirments for BEX analyzer.

  • How to use the same POWL query for multiple users

    Hello,
I have defined a POWL query which executes properly. But if I map the same POWL query to 2 portal users and the 2 portal users try to access the same page simultaneously then it gives an error message to one of the users that
"Query 'ABC' is already open in another session."
where 'ABC' is the query name.
Can you please tell me how to use the same POWL query for multiple users ?
A fast reply would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,

Batch processing usually involves using actions you have recorded.  In Action you can insert Path that can be used during processing documents.  Path have some size so you may want to only process document that have the same size.  Look in the Actions Palette fly-out menu for insert path.  It inserts|records the current document work path into the action being worked on and when the action is played it inserts the path into the document as the current work path..

  • How to use the not exists query

    Hello,
    Using obiee 11g,
i would like to know how to deal with not exists query in the obiee11g,
    the query is like this
    select count(a.col1),a.col2 from table1 a ,table2 b where a.col1=b.col1
    and not exists
    (select d.col1 from table3 d, table4 e
    where d.col1=e.col1 and d.col1=a.col1)
    group by a.col2
    there are 4 tables.
    table1,table2,table3,tabel4
this is what i need in a report, these tables are used in othere places also,
would prefer if its possible to do in for a report i.e.e analysis itself.
If not possible then may be in rpd since if i change in rpd it may reflect every place
and not in for a report itself.
    thanks

Implement this in report itself can be a tricky and tedious job..But better to have it in RPD - Physical - Select Table type
USE NOT IN in place of NOT Exist..You can simply use SELECT statement in SELECT TABLE TYPE
    Hope it clear

Ganesh is right - you will have to dissect the big query bit by bit until you find the offending subquery. If there is another way I would like to find out about it too.
The easiest way to do this is probably to use block comments to isolate parts of the query bit by bit until you find the offending part. If you carefully examine the subqueries you might be able to figure out which one is returning multiple rows without commenting everything
    Good luck!

  • In DBI , how to find out the Source Query used for the Report

    Hi All,
How to find out the Source Query used to display the data in the DBI Reports or Dashboards. We can get it in Apps Front end by Going to Help and Record Histroty. But DBI Runs in Internet Explorer so i dont know how to get the source query ( SELECT Query ) Used.
In IE we have View --> Source . But that does not help since it gives the HTML Coding and not the SELECT Query used.
If anyone has ever worked on it...Please help me in finding it.
    Thanks,
    Neeraj Shrivastava

    Hi neeraj,
You can see the query used to display reports.Follow these steps to get the query.
    1)Login to oracle apps
2)Select "Daily Business Intelligence Administrator" responsiblity.
3)Now click on "Enable/Disable Debugging" (Now u enabled debugging)
4)now open the report which you want to see the query of
5)In view source it displays query along with the bind varilables.
Feel free to ping me if you have any doubts

  • How do i know if my query using  SORT_AREA_SIZE   or temporary tablespace ?

    Good Morning  Everyone !
    My DB version is 10.2.0.1
I have large table  exactly 3 million records.
    SQL> select count(*) from tab1;
    COUNT(*)
       300000
    SQL> select * from tab1 order by no DESC;
    sorting  ... in process
    300000 rows selected.
    in Terminal 2 : I tried to find  sorting details -   ( No rows  selected - why ? )
    SQL> select USERNAME , USER , TABLESPACE , SQL_ID from v$tempseg_usage  ;
    no rows selected
    SQL> /
    no rows selected
    When i google i have seen this ;
If  Oracle cannot do the sort in memory  (SORT_AREA_SIZE initialisation parameter), space will be allocated in a temporary tablespace for doing the sort operation.
REF_LINK : TEMPORARY Tablespaces and TEMPFILES | Oracle FAQ
MY DOUBT QUESTION :   How do i know if my query using  SORT_AREA_SIZE   or temporary tablespace ?
    Thanks in advance.

    @ JohnWatson
I have seen some articles from ORA - FAQ. Good.
    SQL> select USERNAME , USER , TABLESPACE , SQL_ID from v$tempseg_usage;
    USERNAME                       USER   TABLESPACE                      SQL_ID
       SCOTT                               SYS          TEMP                            fh9vqgyd6m0d1
PGA management means that sorting only 300000 rows  may well occur in memory
Is this (3 million rows) -  standard  value for 10g version ?
    Thanks JohnWatson

  • How to make changes in infose query in SQ01

    Dear experts,
I hv question abt infoset query.
I m not very familiar with infoset query and now i hv to make some changes in already existing query.
I hv found the infoset in use.
from this infoset i can find the query.
Now the question is I just hv to insert one field in selection screen and and same in output list. This field has to come from a table which is already in use in joins. I just have to tick the checkbox to appear the field in selection screen and in outputlist.
But I m not sure, if i make any changes in query, what will be the effects because the query is in production system and i hv to make changes in the production system only.
and before sq01 i hv to drag and drop that field in infoset sq02..
Can any one pls guide me , how i should make changes in query.
    Thanks in advance

Thank you very much for ur reply.
Actually, there are tjhree table joined in sq02.  One is KNVV. i hv to add customer group into selection screen and output list also.
SO i will hv to make changes both in sq02 and then sq01.
how i supposed to do it.   I m very sory asking again and its like spoon feeding,
but to be very true report is in production and i m very scared of ripple effects of changes as i hv less idea abt the infoset.
    Pl;s guide,
    With best regards,

  • How to track signon in a query? XMLP-Doku?

    Hello,
can anyone give me a brief example how to track signon in a query to limit data in the standalone version of XMLP? Unfortunatly the user manual (PDF) doesn't describe that. The threads in this forum which tell this quit short didn't work to me.
Is there any other important manual or book about XMLP except the PDF user manual?
    Thanks in advance
    Ralf Kanis

We wanted to trap the sign-on but oracle has the following response. I heard you can modify the xdo file but this solution is not a long term solution.
Following is the reply from the development:
There is a bug in XMLP 5.6.2 which prevents dynamically passing username in sql, and would be fixed in the next release. Also it req
uires editing report file manually as the UI does not support this username bind
    ing in 5.6.2.

  • How to pass text in MDX query

    Hi All,
I was wondering how to pass text in MDX query.
Below mentioned is my sample query and it is working fine.

But in data base 000012345 consists of material name as “ Pepsi “
Now based on Pepsi I want to fetch results? Is it possible?
    Thanks in advance.

    Srinivas,
So you are using JAVA, if you consult the developer's guide there is a section specifically addressing your question the ResultSet API should handle this via the formatted
    <b>Retrieving Result Sets
    ResultSet API</b>
Note that the concept allows for more than two axes, however a two-dimensional, table-like data set makes the
example easy to illustrate. On the columns axis, two members (“Store Cost” and ”Store Sales”) of the measures
dimension have been selected; on the rows axis, three members (“Berlin,” ”Hamburg,” and ”Munich”) of the City level
of a geographical hierarchy. The dataset has six cells:
    Cells provide four mandatory properties:
    • Value — supports all common column types, for example:
    o numeric types
    o dates
    o time values
    o strings
    o null
    • Data type — int value describing the data-type (see java.sql.Types)
    • Status — state of the cell (for example, error or null)
    <b>• Formatted value — a string representation of value</b>
You can retrieve text in this manner.
Do you want to be able to pass text as if it were a value as well?
    Cheers,
    Scott

  • How to put distinct in the query

    Hi all,
How to put distinct in the query.I checked in RPD , Distinct supported is already available. I marked the distinct check box in advance option still then i'm not getting distinct in the query.
    any idea , please help...

In the RPD i have join between base table and view .i'm selecting 2 columns one from base table and other from view . which gives cartesian product . to avoid that i want to put distinct . I'm not using any measure . I'm taking direct columns.
I'm getting distinct keyword if i'm accessing the report directly . but when i'm accessing it from dashboard in the back end while preparing the query it's writing distinct but the actual query which is sending to db does not have distinct.

  • How to enforce index in oracle query

    Hi all
how to enforce index in oracle query
    Regards

Use INDEX hint to force Optimizer to use the specfied index.
You really need to investigate why Optimizer doesn't choose the index. Remember, INDEX SCAN are not always GOOD.
