How to execute a "Submit" button?

Im not even sure im in the right forum, however I have a submit form button and form all designed and I have my server code, but how to I put the two together to make the button work??
My code doesnt seem right.  The button clicks, but the form doesnt go anywhere....It just looks cool.
So where I suppose do I put my code in DW to make my form work??

The form tag should contain the action attribute that points to the location of the server side script file. For example, if your server side script is in a file formmail.php:
<form action="formmail.php" method="get">
What is it that you want to happen when the form is submitted? What does your script do?

  • I created a form and I'm not sure how to make the 'submit' button send me the collected information.

    Hello everybody. I am a web designer (NOT a developer)
    I created a form and I'm not sure how to make the 'submit' button send me the collected information.
    I have used phpform.org/ to custom build a submission form. Then I opened that html in dreamweaver (so that I could edit colors, fonts, and delete the phpform.org advetisement)
    Now I need to link the 'submit button' so that it will e-mail me the completed form.
    (formphp.org wants me to subscribe to a servie that I pay for in order to have the form e-mailed to myself.)
    (after I get the submit button linked to an e-mail I will pull the html of my completed form into Muse- but I don't think that is really relevent)
    I'm sure one of you can help point me in the right direction! I can't write my own code so detailed help is appreciated!
    -Brenna

    I'm afraid not.    It's not rocket science but you need to do some coding.
    You'll need to find a script (php) and save it to your local site folder.  Then reference the script in your form's action attribute like so.
         <form action="path/form-to-email-script.php" >
    The input fields in your HTML form need to exactly match the script variables.
    I'm  assuming you're hosted on a Linux server which uses PHP code.  Linux servers are also case sensitive, so upper case names are not the same as lower case names.  It's usually best to use all lower case names in your form and script to avoid confusion.

  • How to text for Submit button in different languages.

    Hi All
    We have a requirement to add 'Submit Button' in iSupplier Portal's Standard Pages.
    We have substituted the controller to add the Submit button and it works fine also .
    Our Application has 7 different languages, so the requirement is to show the button Text w.r.t the
    language only .
    We have written the following code
    OASubmitButtonBean oasb= (OASubmitButtonBean)oapagecontext.getWebBeanFactory().createWebBean(oapagecontext,"BUTTON_SUBMIT");
    oasb.setID("IPOPrintReportButton");
    oasb.setUINodeName("IPOPrintReportButton");
    oasb.setEvent("IPOPrintReportButton");
    oasb.setText("IPO Print Report Button");
    //oasb.setTranslatableText("XXIPO","XXIPO_PRINT_REPORT_TXT");
    pageButtonBarBean2.addIndexedChild(oasb);
    when we have used setText method , we are getting the same name in every language. so we tried using setTranslatableText Method and gave it the Messages to set the Button Text. But Now button text is empty .
    Pls tell us how to achieve this requirement of having text in different languages on the button ..w.r.t the environment language. we have also defined same Message 'XXIPO_PRINT_REPORT_TXT' for other languages.

    Place a HTTP submit button in your form and update the User Entered email using the below script.
    YourHTTPSubmitButton.event__click.submit.target = "mailto:" + txtEmailField.rawValue

  • How to use many submit buttons in an one html form

    I'm doing a simple program to insert, edit, delete data from a web page to an database
    but the problem is that in an html form , you are allowed to put only 1 submit button.
    I heard that you can take the action of many buttons, for a one form using java script
    if anyone have a better idea or else have this simple java script, please help me
    Thank you very much

    Give the buttons an unique name.
    In the servlet just check if the button is pressed or not by determining if HttpServletRequest#getParameter() doesn't return null for the button name.There are a couple of "gotchas" when using this technique of dispatching with certain html controls. Most of them browser related.
    If you are using <input type="image" name="myButton"> as a submit button, be aware that Internet Explorer will submit the parameters "myButton.x" and "myButton.y" giving the x,y co-ordinates of where you clicked on the button. And won't submit any other value. So calling request.getParameter("myButton") would return null. You have to test for request.getParameter("myButton.x");
    If you are using <input type="button" name="myButton"> with Internet Explorer all of the buttons are deemed "successful". So calling request.getParameter("myButton") will never return null.
    At least thats the way it works in IE6. And thats what I'm stuck with at work right now, so thats what gets used. It may be fixed in later versions, but I don't have any info on that.

  • When using safari on ipod touch.....how do I select " submit" button

    My daughter is trying to sign on to the wifi network at her dorm with her ipod touch.....in Safari on the ipod touch, she enters her user name and password in the log in page, but the "submit" button cant be activated.........its visible on the screen of the ipod touch, but she cant scroll to it...

        Hi there cpnova,
    This should be an easy fix. Did you store your information with either iTunes or iCloud? If yes, then all you would need to do is reset the device. Perform a master reset. Go to settings, general, reset, and Erase All Content and Settings. Then when it comes time to re-activate the device, you will be able to get everything added back on from our iTunes or iCloud backup. Let us know if you have any questions.

  • How to disable a submit button on click using javascript

    Hi,
    We have built custom pages for mobile device (PDT) using OAF.
    The application is running on mobile IE 6.12 browser. In mobile platform, the cursor style is not changing to hour glass upon clicking.
    Due to this, user is able to click the same button multiple times before the operation is complete and it is getting submitted multiple time. But the same is working fine in Desktop browsers.
    We have tried with ((OABodyBean)body).setBlockOnEverySubmit(true); But the API documentation states that
    "Sets If set to true, user input will be blocked after EVERY submit (not just PPR submits). This attribute is not supported on the following agent types: pda, phone, voice."
    Hence, I am trying with javascript to disable the submit button after the first click. The issue is, even in the desktop browser
    I am not able to get the button disabled after first click. Please help me.
    I have tried the following statments in PR. But none of them seems to be working.
    //Try 1: directly using id
    OASubmitButtonBean updBtn = ((OASubmitButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("UpdateBN"));
    updBtn.setOnClick("document.getElementById('UpdateBN').disabled=true;document.getElementById('UpdateBN').submit()");
    //Try 2:
    OASubmitButtonBean updBtn = ((OASubmitButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("UpdateBN"));
    updBtn.setOnClick("javascript:this.disabled=true;this.form.submit();");
    //Try 3:
    OASubmitButtonBean updBtn = ((OASubmitButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("UpdateBN"));
    updBtn.setOnClick("this.disabled=true;this.form.submit();");
    //Try 4: using a function
    static final String JS_MULTI_CLICK = "<Script LANGUAGE=\"JavaScript\"> "
    +" function DisabSub(btn)"
    + "{"
    + "btn.disabled = true;"
    + "}"
    +" </Script>" ;
    OARawTextBean rawMultiClick = (OARawTextBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("JSMultiClick");
    rawMultiClick.setText(JS_MULTI_CLICK);
    OASubmitButtonBean updBtn = ((OASubmitButtonBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("UpdateBN"));
    updBtn.setOnClick("javascript: var obj =disable(this);return DisabSub(obj);");
    Can any one please help.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Create two submit buttons A and B adjacent to each other.
    On page Load ,make A as rendered false and disabled true and B as rendered true. using SPEL.
    now on click of button B make button A as rendered true and Button B as rendered false through SPEL.
    In this way on button click the button will become disabled without the use of any javascript.
    Try it if it helps you...
    Thanks,
    Gaurav

  • How to Disable the SUBMIT Button using the formula.

    Hi. Govindu and ohters.
                       I really appreciate your efforts in helping others.
    I am currently working with VC 7.0. Where I am working with Validation of Data.
    we have input buttons( fields) like Emp, Earea, Joining date (month & Year), Ending date((month & Year) etc.,
    Here we have one submit button 'submit'.
    Here what my client asks is unless and until, user fills all details then only
    the submit button should be enabled. Otherwise submit button should be in disable mode.
    I could be able to write formula for 'submit' button's properties( Disable) like this.
    BOOL(IF(LEN(@Emp_code)0 AND LEN(@Earea)0 AND LEN(@Edept)0 AND DSUB(DVAL(@Joining_date), DVAL(@Ending_date),'D')<0 ,false,true))
    Here condition is always make sure that 'Joining date' should be greater than 'Ending date' . where it is working fine for all fields except Calender Year month(Joining date & Ending date).
    the calender year month format is Example : """" May 2007""""
    But it is considering only month But not year.
    Can you kindly provide your inputs.

    Hi. Murtuza.
                        Thanks for Your valueable reply. I have already been trying with the following formula.
    But still I am not getting expected result.
                   BOOL(IF(LEN(@Material_Type)<>0 AND  LEN(@Plant)<>0 AND LEN(@Vendor)<>0 AND
                                           DSUB(DVAL(@To), DVAL(@Calendar_Year_Month),'D')<0 ,false,true))
                    I don't have any problem with   input buttons( fields) like Material type, Plant, Vendor.
                 But _'Calender Year  Month From'  should be  less than  to 'Calender Month To' then only the submit button should be enabled. Otherwise submit button should be in disable mode. This is not working.
                                     The calender year month format is Example : """" May 2007""""
                                                But it is considering only month But not year.
       means It only considering Month only, It is not considering the Year. Please let me know the your information on this.

  • How to create Personalized Submit button?

    Here is the situation,
    Made a large report in InDesign CS6 (interactive pdf) with the idea of a built-in feedback (the adobe forms/button tool for different questions).
    I wanted to use a button I created for submitting the form and submit the form to my forms central account for later data analysis and tracking. However, I cannot seem to locate a way accomplish this part.
    The only option I can see right now is build the report in InDesign, export to interactive pdf, import into forms central, then add their predefined submit button (which I think is very limited and rather ugly), and finally export back to interactive pdf for distribution.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Sorry, currently FormsCentral does not allow you to customize the Submit button.

  • How to use email submit button with webmail; not a desktop email client

    We've made a form that will submit data via an xml attachment to an email. It was all tested as fine (using Adobe Reader 7...) and has been deployed - DISASTER.
    People using Adobe Reader 8 cannot choose to save the xml file. AR 8 just opens up their default email client. If they use webmail and it's not on the list of default email clients (IE/Tools/Options/Programs)then we don't seem to be able to get the xml data out.
    How can you get AR 8 to give you a choice of what to do with the xml data when a user clicks the Submit by email button? Just like the email client choice in AR 7!!!! Please, if anybody from Adobe sees this, help us...

    Did you ever get a solution to this problem. I have several clients who use internet email and it always worked with earlier versions of reader because it would display the "Select Email Client pop up.
