Thanks,you give the command to launch sqlplus, and pass it the appropriate sql or sqlplus commands.
Like this:
oracle> sqlplus /nolog <<EOF
conn / as sysdba
exec mystoredprocedure
exit
EOFor this
oracle> sqlplus /nolog @somefile.sqlwhere 'somefile.sql' has the sqlplus commands needed.

    is it possible to execute Oracle procedure from within SSIS?
    thanks

    Hi,
    I used
    begin
    test1;
    end;
    and it is giving - SSIS package "Package.dtsx" finished: Success, but it is not doing anything.
    "test1" procedure has couple of insert statements and a commit statements but the package is not inserting anything.
    Also when I use "exec test1;" it is failing with the error mentinoed here in the forum.
    Any idea what is wrong here?

  • How to execute a procedure from BODI?

    Hi Pals ,
    I have procedure in my database say EMP_PROC. I want to execute this procedure from the BODI environment.Please do let me know.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Diras

    you have to import the stored procedure in the datastore
    and after importing you can call the stored procedure in the mapping
    use import by name option in datastore, and select function in type and enter the name of stored proc that you want to use in DI
    check technical manual for more details on importing functions and stored procedure

  • Execute stored procedure from Unix shell script

    My current method of executing stored procedures (wpl_1 and wpl_2) from a unix shell script is as follows:
    <<wpl.sh>>
    sqlplus user/password @/home/oracle/scripts/wpl.sql
    <<wpl.sql>>
    set serveroutput on size 1000000
    set timing on

    execute wpl_1('0000010236','FIX')
    execute wpl_2('0000010236','FIX')

    Question: Is it possible to combine the two scripts (unix and oracle) together?

    A little rusty on this, but this may work:
    My current method of executing stored procedures

    follows:

    Hei Zhang,
    Thank You. You can return Cursor in many ways. You can write either a function to return cursor (return type is %ROWTYPE) or a package. Writing a Package seems laborious but I like it as it has lot of flexibility.
    I will give you the example for the second type:
    -- 1) Create a Package first:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE pk_MyPackage AS Type RT1 IS RECORD (
    sp_ename emp.ename%TYPE,
    sp_job emp.job%TYPE,
    sp_mgr emp.mgr%TYPE
    TYPE RCT1 IS REF CURSOR RETURN RT1;
    END;
    sho err
    -- 2) Create a Procedure:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE sp_MyProcedure (
    in_empno emp.empno%TYPE,
    RC1 IN OUT pk_MyPackage.RCT1
    ) AS
    BEGIN
    OPEN RC1 FOR
    SELECT ename,
    job,
    mgr
    FROM emp
    WHERE empno = in_empno;
    RETURN;
    END;
    sho err
    --Testing
    SQL> var cr refcursor
    SQL> exec sp_MyProcedure (7934, :cr)
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> print cr
    ENAME JOB MGR
    MILLER CLERK 7782
    Hope this is clear and helps you to complete your task.

  • How to execute oracle stored procedure through php as externally?

    hi...
    i am searching for the way that how to execute oracle stored procedure through web service, i am using php and mysql, i have some stored procedures in oracale database, i want to execute them, from php, means the database will be remain mysql, and the stored procedures of oracle will be executed externally...
    Kind regards,
    Wilayat.

    Ok, so first of all this is a kind of strange question. Since Oracle and MYSQL can happily live side by side.
    Make sure you have the oracle client (instant or regular ) installed and OCI_8 is set up and working correctly in PHP. If it is, when you run the phpinfo() routine you will see oci_8 on there. IF PHP connects just fine from the command line yet apache wont connect check permissions and things like the LD_Library Path.
    Then in php, right along with your MySQL statements run Oracle Statements eg:
    <?php
    $OraDB = oci_connect(name,pass,tnsname);
    $MySQLdb = mysql_connect([parms]);
    $oraQueryText = "begin sp_some_proc([some parms]); end;" ;
    $mysqlQuery = " Some mysql Query";
    $oraQuery = oci_parse($OraDB,$oraQueryText );
    oci_execute($oraQuery);
    mysql_execute([parms]);
    ?>
    Use the standard fetch code to get data from either of them.
    If you cannot and I mean absolutely cannot get an admin to link in OCI_8 then you still have recourse although it will be tedious as hell. PHP allows you to exec calls to the OS. You still MUST make sure the Oracle Client is installed and that sqlplus runs from the command line. You will more then likely have to have a shell script written to do this as well, but maybe not as I have never tried it with the exception of capturing the return value of sqlplus and you will have to dig into sqlplus to get it to send its results to a file you can then parse with php.
    Good Luck!

  • How to call a procedure from database executing commandButton...

    Hello.
    I´m using Jdev 10.1.3.2, I´d like to know how can I execute a procedure from database when I click a command button..??
    is that possible?
    thanks again.

    Yes, it's possible.
    Since you don't say anything about technologies you are using, I will assume ADF Business Components and JSF.
    You can write a service method in your application module - see Section 25.5 of the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers
    Then, you can drag-and-drop the service method from the data control palette on to your JSF page and select ADF Command Button when you drop.
    You will, in all likelyhood, find numerous examples when you search the forum as well.

  • Running stored procedure from unix shell

    Hi
    I have a stored procedure proc1 stored in a file, code1.txt in my home directory /home/user. How do i execute this file which contains the stored procedure from unix shell? I would really appreciate it if somebody gives me the complete shell script to accomplish the above task.
    Thanks.

    To put everything together into a single posting:
    The EXEC command is a SQL*Plus macro command. It is not a SQL or PL/SQL command.
    The only way to execute a stored proc from a client, is to wrap the call in an anonymous PL/SQL block. I.e you need a BEGIN and END PL/SQL wrapper around the call.
    E.g.BEGIN
      -- calling a stored proc to start leave processing
      scott.StartLeaveProcessing;
    END;The EXEC macro in SQL*Plus does this automatically for you. Thus less typing. But do not confuse this command with the PL/SQL language.
    Second issue. Use bind variables when making calls from clients. And not just for SQL statements, but also for PL/SQL. Unfortuantely this tends to be a hack in SQL*Plus due to the way SQL*Plus itself treats its bind variable assignments. But in principle, this is what you should do when calling an Oracle stored proc from a client:
    SQL> -- define a host variable
    SQL> var EMPID varchar2(100)
    SQL> var FROM_DEPT number
    SQL> var TO_DEDPT number;
    SQL>
    SQL> -- assign values to these (this is where SQL*Plus hacks it)
    SQL> exec :EMPID := 100;
    SQL> exec :FROM_DEPT := 1;
    SQL> exec :TO_DEPT := 2;
    SQL>
    SQL> -- now make the stored proc call for moving employee 100 from
    SQL> -- department 1 to department 2
    SQL> EXEC scott.EmployeeTransfer( :EMPID, :FROM_DEPT, :TO_DEPT );
    SQL>To do this from a Unix shell script:
    #!/bin/bash
    # environment variables
    # --> put environment such as ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID, TWO_TASK
    # etc. here <--
    # redirect STDIN from TTY (keyboard typewriter device) to the input from
    # this file - which means SQL*Plus will not read from the keyboard but read
    # from this file its input until the EOF marker/text is encountered
    sqlplus -s /nolog << EOF
    connect scott/tiger
    var EMPID varchar2(100)
    var FROM_DEPT number
    var TO_DEDPT number;
    exec :EMPID := 100;
    exec :FROM_DEPT := 1;
    exec :TO_DEPT := 2;
    exec scott.EmployeeTransfer( :EMPID, :FROM_DEPT, :TO_DEPT );
    exit;
    EOF
    #eof

  • Calling stored procedure from unix shell script

    Hello,
    I am facing a problem while calling a stored procedure from UNIX shell script. I want to return a output variable from the stored procedure to the UNIX environment.
    Here is the code-
    #!/bin/sh
    OUTPUT=`sqlplus cmag/magnum@dw <<ENDOFSQL
    set serveroutput on;
    var prd_out varchar2(100);
    exec create_pm_window(:prd_out);
    exit;
    ENDOFSQL`
    echo " output is - $OUTPUT"
    The problem is :prd_out is not getting copied to shell variable OUTPUT.
    I have a dbms_output.put_line in the stored proc create_pm_window and I can see that prd_out is getting populated.
    Any help is really appreciated.
    Thanks'
    Rakhee

    First step :
    make sure the PL/SQL works as expected.
    Does the following display the expected output executed from SQL*Plus ?
    set serverout on
    declare
    prd_out varchar2(100);
    begin
    create_pm_window(prd_out);
    dbms_output.put_line('output is '||prd_out);
    end;
    I don't have your procedure, but using a dummy procedure like :
    Scott@my10g SQL>create procedure foo(p_out in out varchar2)
      2  is
      3  begin
      4  select 'Hello '||instance_name into p_out from v$instance;
      5  end;
      6  /
    Procedure created. and a toto.sh script as :OUTPUT=`sqlplus -s scott/tiger <<EOF
    set pages 0 lines 120 trimout on trimspool on tab off echo off verify off feed off serverout on
    var mavar varchar2(100);
    exec foo(:mavar);
    print mavar;
    exit;
    EOF`
    echo "OUT = ${OUTPUT}"
    exitIt works fine :[oracle@Nicosa-oel ~]$ ./toto.sh
    OUT = Hello my10g

    Hi
    Can any one help me how to compile oracle procedure through ODI11g
    I am awar of that, how to call oracle procedure in ODI and execute it.
    Please help me
    Regards,

    You want to know how to compile, or how to call, or both ?
    I don't know for compilation, but call a procedure is simple.
    You juste have to create an ODI Procedure and write the SQL statement like you do in a query editor.

    Hi friends,
    I migrated oracle procedure from Oracle 8.0.4 DB froM NT to Oracle 9.2.0 DB on IBM AIX.
    When I test/run the procedure on the 9.2.0 Db, it is running forever and would not end complete.

  • Execute Stored Procedures from Stellent

    Can we execute stored procedures from stellent 7.5.2 ?
    By using java, I dont find any method to execute stored procedure from WorkSpace interface.
    Please guide me to solve this..
    Appreciate your help and efforts.

    May not be exactly what you're looking for, but I hope this helps:
    http://www.corecontentonly.com/Blog/Calling-A-Stored-Procedure-From-Oracle-Fusion-ECM-Stellent
    For java based execution basically:
    1. Create your stored proc in the db
    2. Create a component
    3. Create a query resource
    4. In your java code use the createResultSet method of the Workspace object and pass in the name of your query resource and then the current databinder object
