How to export a Discoverer report in 4i

Hi,
I have a discoverer report in production PROD .I want to test the report in TEST instance but the report doesn't exist in TEST instance. Now,I want to export that report from PROD and want to deploy that report in TEST instance.
I worked on Discoverer 10g ,when we export it will ask for business areas, folders,Item classes and so on.But in 4i when I am trying to export ,it is prompting a window to save as a file.
Can anyone tell me how to export the reports in 4i.
Appreciate you help !!
Veejay

Hi,
In Discoverer 4i the workbook export is only available from the command line. Therefore you will have to use dis41adm.exe to export the workbooks into a .eex file.

  • How many users and how often a particular discoverer report is being run?

    Hi there,
We run discoverer(4i) reports from portal. The question is:
How to find out the number of users and how often a particular discoverer report is being run?
    Many Thanks in advance.
    Naren

I know in the 9 versions of discoverer is there is a Discoverer v5 Business Area that is included out of the box. You have to have the stats turned on inside of the pref.txt. But that BA has all of the information to create queries about who, what, parameters, etc. You'll have to check and see if its part of 4i.

How to export a PowerView report to Power Point in SharePoint Online? If it cannot be done, what is the alternative?

    Hi Tanay,
I am not aware of a control you can put in PowerPoint, however, you can insert a web browser control and reference a page in SPO (or maybe even directly the path to the workbook, didn't try that).
if you are using PowerPoint 2013 take a look

  • How to export and import reports and presentations?

    Hi Guys,
how to export and import reports and presentations from Analyzer 7.2 to Web Analysis 11.1.1.
Can you plz tell me the procedure.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Like I mentioned earlier, you can export documents and presentations to local computers and/or mapped drives.
    - Exported documents take ARD extension & presentations take APT extension.
To export the current document, select File, then Export, then Current Document. In the Save dialog box, indicate your local drive/network location to which the file is to be saved and click OK.
I believe- Analyzer 7.2 also has the wizard to let you Export docs. & Presentations.

  • How to export the dashboard reports for Excel in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0?

    Hi Experts,
How to export the dashboard reports for Excel in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0?
    For example:
Dashboard contains more than one report, and add one export button for downloading these reports for Excel.
Is it possible to implement this requirement? Thanks.

There is no direct option, you can try the following workaround.
Page Option -> Print -> Printable Html
Then File -> Save Page as
Choos Save as type as -> All files
    File name as Report.xls
When you Open the xls file, if you get a pop up saying problem during load just omit it and proceed.
The report will open in excel.
Or save the page as html /mht and open it with Excel, this also will work.
Note: I have tested this in Mozilla
    Thanks,

  • How To View a Discoverer Report In Oracle Applications

    Hi All
    I have 1 problem...
    Im using Oracle Discoverer 4i.
I have connected to Oracle Applications through Discoverer Administration and created a Business Area and created a report and able to see the report in Desktop Edition, which i connected to Oracle Applications in Desktop Edition also.
But now my question is how to see that Report in Oracle Applications when i connect to Oracle Applications through explorer and selecting a responsibility
when i connected to Oracle Applications im not getting the report which i have created.
Is it possible to view a report in Oracle Applications using Discoverer 4i..
Please can any 1 help it out ..its very urgent..
    Thanks in Advance..

    Hi,
You need to have an Apps mode EUL so that you logon with an Applications username and password. You then need to grant privileges to your responsibilities and also set security on your Business Areas so that they can be accessed by your responsibilities.
Once that is set up, you can create form functions so that you can add links to Discoverer reports in your Applications menus. Metalink Note 278095.1 explains how to do this.
    Hope that helps,

  • HOW TO Export Entire Page Report, Not Just Regions, To CSV or Excel?

I need to export a main report (Page 2014) that consists of 5 different regions (Name, Feature, States, Admin Areas, and Maps), as one CSV file.
I know that I can set each of the 5 different region's report attributes to export by enabling the CSV output to Yes.
But , since my main report (Page 2014) has these many regions, I end up with 5 different CSV files.
There is no attribute to set for the main report (Page 2014) to enable it to export as CSV output.
How can I get an all-encoompassing CSV file of the main report (Page 2014)?
    Thank you in advance,
    Maggie

    Hello Maggie,
    >> How can I get an all-encoompassing CSV file of the main report (Page 2014)?
This might be possible using the advanced print server configuration, with BI Publisher, using the same technique that is being used to print master-details reports (which is a type of a multi-region report) - http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/configure_printing.html . The standard print server configuration only supports reports with a single region. If you have BIP in your organization, that’s great. Otherwise, CSV files don’t warrant it.
The only other option, I can see, is to create the CSV file manually, using the technique described in the following Blog entry, by Scott Spendolini - http://spendolini.blogspot.com/2006/04/custom-export-to-csv.html .

  • How to use seeded discoverer reports

    Hi,
i want to use seeded discoverer reports from Human Resources Intelligence - End User (responsibility)
if i run this reports in apps i am not getting any output(no result).
so i want to see the workbook creation(i mean contents in the workbook) . how its developed .
how do i identify the workbook and busineess area respect to the report...how do i open this in discoverer tool(admin/desktop)...
    pl help me out
    regards,
    kumar

Normally I open the discoverer report in Discoverer Desktop using my Application user id which has the grants on certain responsibility. This responsibility should have access to the disco workbooks and also the business area and folders. If for instance you open with another login which does not have the access, it will pop up this error message like 'Substitute Item', it means it could not find the item in that particular folder - Business area.
For example in Employee Business Area you have Employee Data Folder with First Name Item and Last Name item. If your login does not have access to it, it will pop up error message that said it could not find "First Name" and looking for substitute item to make the disco work.

  • How to export BIAR from reports?

    Hello,everyone!
I want to migrate the reports form my local BO server to another BO server,My ideas are:
First,I export my local BO reports to BIAR file format.
Second, use import wizard import the BIAR file into another BO server.
But,I can't know how to create the BIAR file or how to export the BIAR format. Please tell me list the step it.Thanks!
And please tell me the idea's right?
    Thanks!
    jane

Here are the steps to create .biar file using command line:
The biarengine.jar should be used to import or export a BIAR from command line. You can also use Import wizard.
    1. Create a "properties" file as follows specifying CMS logon credentials, BIAR file path and additional details.
A sample properties file is as follows:
#This file imports a biar, note this line is a commentimportBiarLocation=C:/CR#Where the file to be imported is location at c:\CR.biarbiaraction=importXMLuserName=Administratorpassword=CMS=vanmsung01:6400authentication=secEnterprise
    2. Here are different attributes that can be used in properties file.
CMS : CMS nameuserName : administratorexportQuerypassword : admin passwordauthentication : secEnterpriseaction : exportXML or importXMLexportBiarLocation : absolute path separated by "/"importBiarLocation : absolute path separated by "/"exportDependencies : True or FalseincludeSecurity : True or FalseexportQuery : Query to retrieve objects to be exported. e.g. select * from ci_Infoobjects where si_name ='Xtreme Employees' and si_kind = 'Webi'exportQueriesTotal : Number greater than 0. It tells the tool how many queries you want to execute.
    3. Add <Java install Directory>\bin to Path system variable.
    4. Open a command line window and go to Business Objects\common\4.0\java\lib
    5. Execute biarengine.jar using a command as follows:
    java -jar biarengine.jar <properties file path>
    6. Either the BIAR file will be imported or exported depending upon the properties file.

    Hi User,
    Create a new shared folder.
Provide access to all the users.
Now, ask the user who created the report in 'My Folders' to save the report in this new shared folder.
And, Delete those reports in 'My Folders'.
Now, as the report is saved in New shared folder you can access - this one.
Else--- Ask the user who created the report in my folder to make sure that it is available to all users. (Permissions - Permission should need to be provided for Administrator group)
    Thank you.
