How to Extract the data from the database to XML Format

Hi All,
RepositoryItem userItem = getProfileRepository().getItem("user747", "user");
String userAsXML = GetService.getItemAsXML(userItem,"profileMapping.xml");
While searching, I got the above snippet. But i don't have any idea about to execute it. Can any one help me out.

if you want to export all the repository data into an xml, you can use export
C:\ATG\ATG 9.1\home
bin\startSQLRepository -m ModuleName -export all outputfilename -repository pathtorepository
C:\ATG\ATG9.1\home
bin\startSQLRepository -m MotorPriseJSP -export all users.xml -repository /atg/userprofiling/ProfileAdapterRepository
this will export all profile data from MotorPriseJSP to users.xml. Make sure you point correct datasource while executing this comamnd.
Hope this helps !!!
Thanks,

  • How to extract payload data from SOA database schema using Java

    I am trying to extract the payload data and output as XML text files using Java. Seems that is stored in SOA table XML_DOCUMENT. I am trying the following Java code to get started and it's not working as I would expect. I only get a few actual lines of output and, when I do, I only get the *<?xml version ... ?>* line.
    I appreciate any advice to extract the payload data from the database. Ultimately I will want to include the composite instance ID in the SQL but for now I'm just using the code shown here:
    OracleDataSource ods = new OracleDataSource();
    ods.setURL("soa_db_connection_string");
    ods.setUser("soa_db_user_id");
    ods.setPassword("soa_db_password");
    Connection conn = ods.getConnection();
    String sql = "select document from xml_document where rownum < 10";
    OraclePreparedStatement stmt = (OraclePreparedStatement)conn.prepareStatement(sql);
    DBBinXMLMetadataProvider dbrep = BinXMLMetadataProviderFactory.createDBMetadataProvider();
    dbrep.setConnectionPool(ods);
    dbrep.associateDataConnection(conn);
    OracleResultSet rset = (OracleResultSet)stmt.executeQuery();
    XMLDOMImplementation domimpl = new XMLDOMImplementation();
    BinXMLProcessor proc = BinXMLProcessorFactory.createProcessor(dbrep);
    while (rset.next()) {
         Blob blob = rset.getBlob("DOCUMENT");
         BinXMLStream inpbin = proc.createBinXMLStream(blob);
         BinXMLDecoder dec = inpbin.getDecoder();
         InfosetReader xmlreader = dec.getReader();
         XMLDocument doc = (XMLDocument)domimpl.createDocument(xmlreader);
         doc.print(System.out);
    }

    I found a method using a slight variation of the code I originally posted. Essentially you remove the DBBinXMLMetadataProvider dbrep portion. I believe, with this included, the XML being extracted is validated against the database (which is referenced as a "metadata provider"). Since the SOA schema doesn't seem to contain the information to validate the XML it returns as blank. If you don't include the dbrep portion then the XML is extracted as desired.
    OracleDataSource ods = new OracleDataSource();
    ods.setURL("soa_db_connection_string");
    ods.setUser("soa_db_user_id");
    ods.setPassword("soa_db_password");
    Connection conn = ods.getConnection();
    String sql = "select document from xml_document where rownum < 10";
    OraclePreparedStatement stmt = (OraclePreparedStatement)conn.prepareStatement(sql);
    OracleResultSet rset = (OracleResultSet)stmt.executeQuery();
    XMLDOMImplementation domimpl = new XMLDOMImplementation();
    BinXMLProcessor proc = BinXMLProcessorFactory.createProcessor();
    while (rset.next()) {
         BLOB blob = rset.getBLOB("DOCUMENT");
         BinXMLStream inpbin = proc.createBinXMLStream(blob);
         BinXMLDecoder dec = inpbin.getDecoder();
         InfosetReader xmlreader = dec.getReader();
         XMLDocument doc = (XMLDocument)domimpl.createDocument(xmlreader);
         doc.print(System.out);
    }

    2LIS_03_BX- Initial Stock/Material stock
    2LIS_03_BF - Material movements
    2LIS_03_UM - Revaluations/Find the price of the stock
    The first DataSource (2LIS_03_BX) is used to extract an opening stock balance on a
    detailed level (material, plant, storage location and so on). At this moment, the opening
    stock is the operative stock in the source system. "At this moment" is the point in time at
    which the statistical setup ran for DataSource 2LIS_03_BX. (This is because no
    documents are to be posted during this run and so the stock does not change during this
    run, as we will see below). It is not possible to choose a key date freely.
    The second DataSource (2LIS_03_BF) is used to extract the material movements into
    the BW system. This DataSource provides the data as material documents (MCMSEG
    structure).
    The third of the above DataSources (2LIS_03_UM) contains data from valuated
    revaluations in Financial Accounting (document BSEG). This data is required to update
    valuated stock changes for the calculated stock balance in the BW. This information is
    not required in many situations as it is often only the quantities that are of importance.
    This DataSource only describes financial accounting processes, not logistical ones. In
    other words, only the stock value is changed here, no changes are made to the
    quantities. Everything that is subsequently mentioned here about the upload sequence
    and compression regarding DataSource 2LIS_03_BF also applies to this DataSource.
    This means a detailed description is not required for the revaluation DataSource.

    how to I convert data from oracle database into excel sheet.
    I need to import columns and there datas from oracle database to microsoft excel sheet.
    Please let me know the different ways for doing this.
    Thanks.

    asktom.oracle.com has an excellent article on writing a PL/SQL procedure that dumps data to an Excel spreadsheet-- search for 'Excel' and it'll come up.
    You can also use your favorite connection protocol (ODBC, OLE DB, etc) to connect from Excel to Oracle and pull the data out that way.

  • How can i  get data from anather database system  ????????

    Hi every body..
    I 've a problem .....
    I've an old program work on "DOS" and it's content database which content all Data that i need for that program
    The data file extension with ".FD" , ".VW" , ".LSS" & "SLP"
    I want to kow:-
    1) what is that database system
    2)What program could open or can get data from that database tables.
    3)can i do that with oracle...
    please describe every thing in details...
    ... Please replay quickly... urgently
    ...waiting your answer....

    You're probably better off consulting the documentation for the DOS program you're trying to deal with than hoping someone here will be able to guess what program you're using, identify the structure of the files, and tell you how to extract the data into something Oracle can import.

  • Cant extract historical data from Citadel database

    When using the simplest VI's to extract historical data from the Citadel database, I get error messages :

    Using "Read Historical Trends.vi"

    error code - 0x8abc0010
    I am using dsc version 6.0, and have already tried to upgrade to ver. 6.0.2. This did not go well, and I had to return to ver. 6.0 (reinstalling NT and everything else) to make my system run again.

    Download and install the latest release of Logos from ftp://ftp.ni.com/lookout/logos. Logos is the backbone drivers for the Citadel database. The most recent releases of Logos addresses issues that are similar to this.

  • How to extract binary data from a File?

    Hello there!
    Hope I'm right here.
    I have a slight problem with a file containing text- and binary-data. At the beginning of the file is only some text followed by some html-code and at the end is some binary stuff like a pdf oder an image (jpg/gif).
    My problem is now how to split these parts and save them in the suitable format. The text and the html are no problem, but I don't know how to extract the binary data. I tried it out with an Inputstream, but I don't know how to find the exact position where the binary data begins.
    Anyone have an idea how I can solve this?
    Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.

    I don't believe a bullet-proof solution exists.
    If you know where the HTML ends, you may skip whitespace and then assume the rest is binary data. Or, if you know the first bytes of the binary data, you may locate those. With either of these solutions, though, you risk coming across a file where it doesn't work as expected, for example if the first byte of the binary data happens to match a whitespace character.

  • How to extract incremental data from SQL server to oracle tables in ODI

    HI All,
    In my ODI sql server is install.My Source is in SQL server and my target is in Oracle.
    I need to create a interface mapping where i need to extract incremental data from sql server to oracle.
    There is a datetime(with Timestamp) field in sql server .I need to pull incremental data based on dateime.
    Example = tablename.DateTime > (select '1-jan-11' from dual) .....i am using this query but its not woking.the error is Invalid object name"dual".
    We are not going to use Incremental in IKM and LKM.
    Request you to please provide any suggestion ASAP.
    Thanks,
    Lony

    You can do that via Variable.
    In the interface mapping create a filter on Tablename.DateTime
    and put the condition like this
    Tablename.DateTime BETWEEN #VAR and in the variable use this query in refreshing tab with oracle schema
    SELECT max(start_time)||' AND '||max(END_TIME)+1 from audit_table where ETL_JOB_CODE = '20'In the package call the above variable in refresh mode and then interface.
    This way you will pass from the query between and condition date and pass to interface so that SQL Server fetches the data between those too range.
    Note:- You might need to tweak the date format so that SQL Server can understand.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to get the metadata (in xml format) of all the fileds in SQl query ?

    Good day ,
    I am using the dbms_xmlgen.getXMLfunction to get the result of any query in xml format.
    With this XML I also want the metadata information about all the fields used in the query (passed to getXML function). Is it possible and how can I achieve this.
    I tried to Google it but couldn't find any solution , it's easy to do it in java where I can get the resultset meta data from the resultset but I have to do it in Oracle function since I want the result in xml format and want to use the oracle XML API.
    You may think why I need metadata , the reason is the application will later use this information to sort the data contained in these fields according to their data type provided to.
    Regards
    Sajjad Ahmed Paracha

    Hi,
    Please always say which version of Oracle you're using (SELECT * FROM v$version).
    With this XML I also want the metadata information about all the fields used in the query (passed to getXML function). Is it possible and how can I achieve this.It is possible but with a bit of effort.
    I would use DBMS_SQL utility to parse the query, extract each column's description and then build a METADATA element with the required information.
    Here's an example (11g) :
    DECLARE
      v_query      varchar2(30) := 'select * from scott.emp';
      v_cur        integer;
      v_desc_tab   dbms_sql.desc_tab;
      v_col_cnt    number;
      v_col_lst    varchar2(4000);
      v_xml_query  varchar2(32767);
      xml_metadata_coll xmlsequencetype := xmlsequencetype();
      xml_metadata      xmltype;
      res          clob;
    BEGIN
      v_cur := dbms_sql.open_cursor;
      dbms_sql.parse(v_cur, v_query, dbms_sql.native);
      dbms_sql.describe_columns(v_cur, v_col_cnt, v_desc_tab);
      dbms_sql.close_cursor(v_cur);
      for i in 1 .. v_col_cnt loop
        if i > 1 then
          v_col_lst := v_col_lst || ', ';
        end if;
        v_col_lst := v_col_lst || v_desc_tab(i).col_name;
        xml_metadata_coll.extend;
        select xmlelement("COLUMN"
               , xmlattributes(v_desc_tab(i).col_name as "name")
               , xmlforest(
                   case v_desc_tab(i).col_type
                     when 1   then 'VARCHAR2'
                     when 2   then 'NUMBER'
                     when 12  then 'DATE'
                     when 180 then 'TIMESTAMP'
                     else 'UNKNOWN'
                   end as "DATATYPE"
                 , v_desc_tab(i).col_max_len as "MAX_LENGTH"
                 , v_desc_tab(i).col_precision as "PRECISION"
                 , v_desc_tab(i).col_scale as "SCALE"
        into xml_metadata_coll(i)
        from dual;
      end loop;
      v_xml_query :=
    'SELECT XMLSerialize(document

             , XMLElement("ROWSET"
               , XMLAgg(
                   XMLElement("ROW", XMLForest(' || v_col_lst || '))
             ) as clob indent
    FROM ( ' || v_query || ')';
      select xmlelement("METADATA", xmlagg(column_value))
      into xml_metadata
      from table(xml_metadata_coll)
      execute immediate v_xml_query into res using xml_metadata;

    <li> I handle only four datatypes here (VARCHAR2, NUMBER, DATE, TIMESTAMP). Of course you can add more.
    The list of Oracle Type Number is available here : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e26088/sql_elements001.htm#i54330
    Starting with 11g (not sure which release), DBMS_SQL package also declares these numbers through named constants.
    <li> I don't use DBMS_XMLGEN in this example. Instead I rebuild the query using SQL/XML functions and the list of columns that's just been described.

    crossrulz,
    Intel Hex Format is a text format describing binary data, usually used for chip programming devices. Besides records for the actual data itself it also allows for addressing records, such that you only need to have the data in the file that needs to be written to the chip, even if the various areas are all over the address range of the chip. Since it is a well known format for hardware developers, some people coming here assume that everybody knows what it is. Of course many true softies may never have heard of it.
    rolfk, thanks for the information.  I was not aware of this.  I guess I am a true softie even with my EE background.

  • How to extract certain data from XML

    In Xcode I have been able to parse an xml document so it shows:
    description=...
    name=...
    Now I need to extract just the description aspect of it or just the name.
    How do I do this?
    Thanks in advance.

    I'm just trying to get you to meet me halfway. I'm shooting in the dark here. Oh well, here goes nuthin'. Everybody better duck...
    Suppose you have the following XML file:
    <data>
    <name>John</name>
    <description>Hapless programmer</description>
    <status>exasperated</status>
    </data>
    From the example code in that library:
    NSString *filePath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"someFile" ofType:@"xml"];
    NSDictionary *xmlDoc = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithXMLFile:filePath];
    If you want to get the name, description, and status into separate strings, you would do something like this:
    NSString * name = xmlDoc[@"name"];
    NSString * description = xmlDoc[@"description"];
    NSString * status = xmlDoc[@"status"];
    Don't you dare ask me how it would look in Swift.

  • How to extract Live data from website

    Dear Java Specialist,
    I am wondering how to write a Java program to regularly extract certain important live data such as share price on a daily basis:
    ( i ) This program will need to step through a few submenus, possibly accept certain condition to proceed to where the stock price of the interested company which will be displayed on a particular pane/window.
    ( ii ) These data can come in the form of Excel/HTML/PDF format.
    Could Web Service or Java script do the job? Obviously the simpler a solution the better. Please provide some direction on which technology to a achieve this objective with the least effort. Note that these websites could use any form of technology and hence our solution needs to be technology independent.
    Any assistance would be much appreicated.
    Thanks,

Was it because Yahoo was using a different port all together? If so, what port are they or the industry in general are using?
