  • How to access the attributes from a method

    Hi,
    Thanks to all who replied to my previous thread. Please let me know how to access the attributes in method of component controller in the view.
    Let Component_method be my method in component controller which contrains few attributes like this
    method component_method.
    data : node1 type ref to if_wd_context_node,
            itab type standard type of mara.
    endmethod.
    I want to access the above attributes in method of view.
    method view1.
    wd_comp_controller->method_component( ).
    ????? how to access the data of the method_component?
    endmethod.
    Kindly help me out in the syntax.
    Rgrds
    Mahathi

    Hi mahathi
    You should define the parameters in the header, not in the body of the method:
    You can define it as importing, exporting, changing or returning, as you need. For example, in SE80
    Parameter             Cl.declar.          RefTo        Opt        Type ref
    node1                    importing            X                          if_wd_context_node
    itab                       exporting                                        mara
    method_component().
    " code here...
    endmethod.
    and when you have to call the method,
    wd_comp_controller->method_component(
                    EXPORTING     node1 = nodelocal   " not importing!!!
                    IMPORTING      itab   = itablocal      " not exporting!!!
    i think that it's this what you want, don't i?

  • How to get _WorkItem attributes in Object method

    I am trying to get the user id of the person who created the current workitem task being executes.
    I've tried the following:
    DATA: workingwi TYPE swc_object.
    DATA: next_agent LIKE wfsyst-agent.
    swc_get_element container '_Workitem' workingwi.
    swc_get_property workingwi 'CreatedByUser' next_agent+2(12).
    But all I get is the workflow item handle.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Check this code snippet
    swc_get_element  container     '_Workitem'          lv_wi_object.
    swc_get_property lv_wi_object  'Workitemid'         lv_wiid.
    CALL FUNCTION 'SAP_WAPI_GET_WORKITEM_DETAIL'

  • How to access Business object type attribute from a method/function modul ?

    Hello,
    i have created a business object type object along with attributes and methods. Now inside the method i want to access the attributes. inside the method i am writing:
    data a type XXX.
    a = me->attribute
    this is creating a compilation error.
    Now the method is defined as a function module in some package, so can anyone inform me how to access object attributes from the function module ?
    pointes are awarded
    Regards

    Hello,
    thanks for your answer, but this too did not work, "=>" is for static attributes and the attributes i have are not static. Moreover, i tried it but it gave the same error :
    the abap error was when i was checking the code is :
    the type me=>documenttype is unknown
    as you know in SWO1 i created an object and when i create a method you link it to a function module and this is where you have the implementation of the method, so from this method how can i access the attributes on the main object that i created in SWO1

  • How to get zclass attribute's value inside  "Execute_default" method

    Hi all,
    I am displaying a link in UD step under "Objects & Attachmnents".I am using zclass. I created a attribute in zclass and i am creating a instance (background task) before this UD step and i will be setting a attribute of the zclass inside this create instance method.
    My problem is, if i click the link, this method "BI_OBJECT~EXECUTE_DEFAULT_METHOD" is getting executed but i am not able to get the attribute value inside this method, eventhough i am setting the attribute value before the UD step.
    Pls let me know, how to get the attribute's value inside "Execute_default" method, as i need to process further using this attribute.
    P.S: I tried with both static & instance attribute. I can achieve the same using ZBO but my client needs to use only class.

    Lei,
    If you are concerned only about a couple of attributes, then you can manage with a separate copy of the data. But if the data is in bulk, better leave it to pl/sql side of validation.

  • How to fill customized user information attribute (krb5principalname)???

    Hello,
    we have successfully implemented Kerberos Authentification (SPNego) in SAP Portal
    but now have to fill user attribute krb5principalname in ~500 Users.
    How can this be done?
    Is there any possibility to do this by Database-Script or ABAP or Java-Code?
    Are there any other user mass change solutions out there?
    Thank you very much for your ideas!
    Regards,
    Dominik

    Hello Dominik,
    We have had a similar requirement and did a file with the following code in it.
    [User]
    uid=p00000001
    com.sap.security.core.usermanagement:krb5principalname=************;
    [User]
    uid=p00000002
    com.sap.security.core.usermanagement:krb5principalname=************;
    [User]
    uid=p00000500
    com.sap.security.core.usermanagement:krb5principalname=*************;
    Repeat the above block of the code for all the 500 users and put it in a note pad in the same format.
    Now logon to Portal with "User Administration" role and navigate to User Administration-->Import
    Click the "Overwrite Existing data" checkbox and select the notepad with all the 500 users and click "Upload".
    This only takes a while and will update all the user records. Before uploading the file for all the 500 users, first test the process with 5 users and proceed accordingly.
    I hope this helps you. Let me know if you need any further help in this.
    Regards,
    Gopal.

  • How to get selection criteria value in method IF_POWL_FEEDER~HANDLE_ACTION

    hi:
    As you know, we could get the leading selected POWL result data through parameter  c_selected and  c_selected in this method.
    but moreever, I want to get the selection criterai values in this method too just like the paramter i_selcrit_values in the method IF_POWL_FEEDER~GET_OBJECTS, how to do it?
    I have tried to define a attribute in my POWL class and save i_selcrit_values into this attribute in the method IF_POWL_FEEDERGET_OBJECTS, but in method IF_POWL_FEEDERHANDLE_ACTION, this attribute is still empty, so this workaround failed.

  • How do I call an Application Module method from a EntityImpl class?

    Guys and Gals,
    Using Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0.
    I've got a price update form, that when submitted, takes the part numbers and prices in the form and updates the corresponding Parts' price in the Parts table. Anytime this Parts view object's ReplacementPrice attribute is changed, an application module method needs to be called which updates a whole slew of related view objects. I know you can modify view objects via associations (How do I call an Application Module method from a ViewObjectImpl class? but that's not what I'm trying to do. These AppModuleImpl methods are the hub for all price updates, as many different operations may affect related pricing (base price lists, price buckets, etc) and hence, call the updatePartPricing(key) method.
    For some reason, the below code does not call / run / activate the application module's method. The AppModuleDataControl exists and recordPartHistory(key) is registered and public. At runtime, the am.<method> code is simply ignored, and as a weird side-effect, I cannot navigate out of my current page flow.
      public void setReplacementPrice(Number value)
        setAttributeInternal(REPLACEMENTPRICE, value);
        AppModuleImpl am = (AppModuleImpl)this.getDBTransaction().findApplicationModule("AppModuleDataControl");
        Key key = new Key(new Object[]
            { getPartNumber() });
        am.recordPartHistory(key);  // AppModuleImpl method which records pricing history
        am.updatePartPricing(key); // AppModuleImpl method which updates a whole slew of related pricing tables
      }Any ideas?

    Thanks Timo.
    Turns out the code provided was correct, but the AppModuleImpl method being called was not. A dependent ViewObject wasn't returning the row I was expecting. I then tried to perform some operations on that row, which in turn ... just stopped everything, but didn't give me an error.
    It was the lack of the error that threw me off. I had never messed with calling an AppModuleImpl method from the EntityImpl so I assumed that's what was messing up.
    You are correct. It is available from the ViewRow, but I thought it better to put it in the EntityImpl. This method will be called every time the replacement cost is modified. If I didn't put it in the EntityImpl, I'd have to remember to call it every time a replacement cost changed.

  • How to fill dropdown list in Adobe form

    Hi Experts,

    Thanks,
    Hans

    Hello Arafat,
    I am using a drop down list in Adobe Interactive Form for Web Dynpro ABAP.
    The form is of ZCI type layout and the form interface is of XML schema-based interface type and the XML schema source is set to "Generated".
    I have included the following code in WDDOINIT method of the view:
    data: handle1 type ref to if_wd_context_node,
    begin of zstruct,
    zktokd type kna1-ktokd,
    end of zstruct,
    zitab type table of zsttxecr.
    handle1 = wd_context->get_child_node( name = 'DATA.NODE1' ).
    select ktokd from kna1 into corresponding fields of zstruct.
    append zstruct to zitab.
    endselect.
    handle1->bind_table( new_items = zitab ).
    In the Adobe Form Designer, i have binded the node NODE1 to the enumerated drop down list from native web dynpro library. Still the drop down box is not getting populated.
    Please let me know what is missing.

  • How to access an attribute(this is referencing to another class) in a class

    Dear Gurus,
    I have to read an attribute of a class and that attributes type another class.
    I have intantiated the class and my question is how to read the attribute. I know I can not dirrectly read the attribute since this is another class. I think I have to first reference the attribute right? Please advise me.
    My code looks like below:
    data: lo_fpm                                 type ref to if_fpm.
    data: lo_msg_mgr                        type ref to if_fpm_message_manager.
    data: lo_component_manager    type ref to cl_fpm_component_manager.

    lo_msg_mgr = lo_fpm->mo_message_manager.
    lo_component_manager = lo_fpm->mo_component_manager.
    The above statement is giving syntax error. I do not know why.
    The basic difference b/n the two methods is if_fpm~mo_message_manager    type ref to if_fpm_message_manager    and
    mo_component_manager     type ref to cl_fpm_component_manager.

  • How to fill combo box with list of all SQL server

    Ok, I know how to find all SQL servers that I need, I have code for that task, and I have Array of all servers.
    My problem is ...
    I made setup project and do a huge work, and in the end this task appear!
    I used ORCA tool to change TextBox (A) template in visual studio (2008 by the way), and I transform first TextBox to ComboBox.
    Now, the little part that I'am missing is how to fill this combo box with a result of my function for listin SQL servers?
    Can I somehow send combobox object to myMethod:
    private void FillCombo(ComboBox cmb)
          // do the job
    or
    instanceOfThisCombo.Items.Add(listOfSQLServers);
    please help me to solve this... thanksc#

    Hi Valerij,
    The ComboBox control in an MSI dialog uses the ComboBox table to populate the items in it. To get what you want, you need to update the ComboBox table in the MSI package with your application and run the MSI package. The following KB article describes how to dynamically populate a ListBox control in Windows Installer:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291329
    This method introduced in the above KB article also applies to populating a ComboBox control in Windows Installer.
    I don't think it's possible to run the application as a Custom Action from within the MSI package because the application will modify the content of the MSI package which is currently running. So you need to launch the MSI package from within your application after updating the ComboBox table. In short, when installing, just run your application which updates the ComboBox table and install the MSI package.
    Hope this helps.
    If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.
    Sincerely,
    Linda Liu

    With TLF 571 checked in we can now revert the MXML 2009 changes for how the id language attribute is processed.
    An unqualified id property will no longer be seen as a setter for a normal public, writable, non-static "id" property - which matches Flex 3 behavior.
    As in earlier versions of Flex, the mechanism to retain MXML id attribute information at runtime is to implement mx.core.IMXMLObject. The compiler will generate a call to the intialized() method and pass in the id information.
    Note: One exception to this rule seems to be UIComponent which instead get id attribute information via mx.core.IDeferredInstantiationUIComponent (although there seems to be a TODO in the codebase to remove this mechanism and thus should not be relied on by third parties).

    Although the FM is the correct one the structure L_THX_SEL is a hashed table structure and i am not aware how to fill values into it. My requirement is to give a condition for the 0CALDAY info-object i.e 0CALDAY < 30 days. Please suggest me.

    HI,
    Internal Tables
    Internal tables provide a means of taking data from a fixed structure and storing it in working memory in ABAP. The data is stored line by line in memory, and each line has the same structure. In ABAP, internal tables fulfill the function of arrays. Since they are dynamic data objects, they save the programmer the task of dynamic memory management in his or her programs. You should use internal tables whenever you want to process a dataset with a fixed structure within a program. A particularly important use for internal tables is for storing and formatting data from a database table within a program. They are also a good way of including very complicated data structures in an ABAP program.
    Data Type of an Internal Table
    The data type of an internal table is fully specified by its line type, key, and table type.
    Line Type
    The line type of an internal table can be any data type. The data type of an internal table is normally a structure. Each component of the structure is a column in the internal table. However, the line type may also be elementary or another internal table.
    Key
    The key identifies table rows. There are two kinds of key for internal tables - the standard key and a user-defined key. You can specify whether the key should be UNIQUE or NON-UNIQUE. Internal tables with a unique key cannot contain duplicate entries. The uniqueness depends on the table access method.
    At tables with structured row type, the standard key is formed from all character-type columns of the internal table. If a table has an elementary line type, the default key is the entire line. The default key of an internal table whose line type is an internal table, the default key is empty. At tables with non-structured row type, the standard key consists of the entire row. If the row type is also a table, an empty key is defined.
    The user-defined key can contain any columns of the internal table that are no internal table themselves, and do not contain internal tables. References are allowed as table keys. Internal tables with a user-defined key are called key tables. When you define the key, the sequence of the key fields is significant. You should remember this, for example, if you intend to sort the table according to the key.
    Table type
    The table type determines how ABAP will access individual table entries. Internal tables can be divided into three types:
    Standard tables have an internal linear index. From a particular size upwards, the indexes of internal tables are administered as trees. In this case, the index administration overhead increases in logarithmic and not linear relation to the number of lines. The system can access records either by using the table index or the key. The response time for key access is proportional to the number of entries in the table. The key of a standard table is always non-unique. You cannot specify a unique key. This means that standard tables can always be filled very quickly, since the system does not have to check whether there are already existing entries.
    Sorted tables are always saved sorted by the key. They also have an internal index. The system can access records either by using the table index or the key. The response time for key access is logarithmically proportional to the number of table entries, since the system uses a binary search. The key of a sorted table can be either unique or non-unique. When you define the table, you must specify whether the key is to be UNIQUE or NON-UNIQUE. Standard tables and sorted tables are known generically as index tables.
    Hashed tables have no linear index. You can only access a hashed table using its key. The response time is independent of the number of table entries, and is constant, since the system access the table entries using a hash algorithm. The key of a hashed table must be unique. When you define the table, you must specify the key as UNIQUE.
    Generic Internal Tables
    Unlike other local data types in programs, you do not have to specify the data type of an internal table fully. Instead, you can specify a generic construction, that is, the key or key and line type of an internal table data type may remain unspecified. You can use generic internal tables to specify the types of field symbols  and the interface parameters of procedures . You cannot use them to declare data objects.
    Internal Tables as Dynamic Data Objects
    Internal tables are always completely specified regarding row type, key and access type. However, the number of lines is not fixed. Thus internal tables are dynamic data objects, since they can contain any number of lines of a particular type. The only restriction on the number of lines an internal table may contain are the limits of your system installation. The maximum memory that can be occupied by an internal table (including its internal administration) is 2 gigabytes. A more realistic figure is up to 500 megabytes. An additional restriction for hashed tables is that they may not contain more than 2 million entries. The line types of internal tables can be any ABAP data types - elementary, structured, or internal tables. The individual lines of an internal table are called table lines or table entries. Each component of a structured line is called a column in the internal table.
    Choosing a Table Type
    The table type (and particularly the access method) that you will use depends on how the typical internal table operations will be most frequently executed.
    Standard tables
    This is the most appropriate type if you are going to address the individual table entries using the index. Index access is the quickest possible access. You should fill a standard table by appending lines (ABAP APPENDstatement), and read, modify and delete entries by specifying the index (INDEX option with the relevant ABAP command). The access time for a standard table increases in a linear relationship with the number of table entries. If you need key access, standard tables are particularly useful if you can fill and process the table in separate steps. For example, you could fill the table by appending entries, and then sort it. If you use the binary search option (BINARY) with key access, the response time is logarithmically proportional to the number of table entries.
    Sorted tables
    This is the most appropriate type if you need a table which is sorted as you fill it. You fill sorted tables using the INSERTstatement. Entries are inserted according to the sort sequence defined through the table key. Any illegal entries are recognized as soon as you try to add them to the table. The response time for key access is logarithmically proportional to the number of table entries, since the system always uses a binary search. Sorted tables are particularly useful for partially sequential processing in a LOOP if you specify the beginning of the table key in the WHEREcondition.
    Hashed tables
    This is the most appropriate type for any table where the main operation is key access. You cannot access a hashed table using its index. The response time for key access remains constant, regardless of the number of table entries. Like database tables, hashed tables always have a unique key. Hashed tables are useful if you want to construct and use an internal table which resembles a database table or for processing large amounts of data.
