How to fill the dropdown list in a input field

Hi all,
I have three input fields, Month, Material type and material.
My requirement is to search material based on material type. So if i select one material type from the dropdown list, corresponding material should be populate in the material dropdown.
Pls suggest to this requirement i have

How to capture the user change in an input field on a selection screen?

I am coding a selection screen in which there are two input fields. The first field takes a Unix directory from the user input. Based on the input value, the second field will be populated with a the name of a file under the corresponding directory.
My question is how I can make the program capture the user input without having to make the user press ENTER after they enter the value in the first field?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Actually you led me to the real solution! It's the function module DYNP_VALUES_READ that does the trick for me. This function enables the program to capture dynamic user changes without recourse to PAI. Please refer to the code below:

How to change the format of a decimal input field?

Hello,
When creating an input field of type decimal the numbers appear at this format: 123,123.
Is it possible to disable this format and let the numbers to be displayed like this: 123123 ?

Hi Roy,
Create a simple type in local dictionary of built in type integer. In the representation tab you can give any format you want. For your requirement you can give ####### in the format. You can also try other formats like ##,#### etc. Now create a context attribute and in it's type property give the simple type you have created by selecting the appropriate folder. Now map this attribute with the input field.

How to get the latest screen value (of input field in VA01)

Hi Experts,
I have a problem that when I am in VA01 (create sales orders) I see the (old) default value of the Req.Deliv.Date
(in Item Overview tab). I don't see the latest entered value.
This is screen field RV45A-KETDAT.
Eg When I enter VA01, I first enter the order type.
In the next screen you will see that the Req.Deliv.Date has already an intial value (current date).
Now when I change this field to Nov 14 2011, I will still see the delault current date (in PAI).
Only much later, the program will adopt the new value (but this is too late for me).
(I actually need the value in FM SD_PARTNER_ABLAD_SELECTION)
How come and how can I retrieve the latest value?
(I already tried FM DYNP_VALUES_READ but this didn't help)
Please advice.

Did you try DYNP_VALUES_READ like this

try writing this where you need your values. This oerform already exists in VA01 code and is used in teh PAi for another field. So just try callign this with these values and see if it helps.

How to get the keys for a field in the dropdown list?

The dropdown list of payment terms on an account is unfortunately very big, containing al lot of different values, in our system and therefore very confusing for the user working with Web UI version 5.2 to pick the right one. The keys (code like e.i Z077 or ZO23) are not stated in the list available for user. Is there any way in the system to flag if the different fields should show boths the keys(codes) and the description of the values in the field as Payment terms, etc.
In the ERP SAP Gui it is possible to activate if you want the keys should be shown in all drop down list.
If this is not possible for all the fields at one time, what can be a solution to have the keys in the drop down lists, any suggestion will be very valuable for us.

No it is not that simple, that is not a solution for us. The fields are maintained i our backend system and replicated to CRM, and these fields descriptions are also printed at Order confirmations and invoices, and we do not want the keys that do not give any meaning to be visible to customers.

How to Populate the Dropdown from the xml file ?

According to my requirement, Drop down has to be populated in a form, on selecting an element in the first drop down list, corresponding second drop down values has to be loaded dynamically.
I am using the ReferenceData file, which consists of the Dropdown list values in the form of Key,Value pair. I can able to populate one drop down,but I don't know how to populate the second dropdown dynamically.

How Do You Populate Dropdown Lists?

I am having a problem when I fill more than one drop down list (using DropDownByIndex). What happens is I have 2 that I want to fill. It seems to be leaving a big space in each one where the values for the other one would be filled in. So for example, the first one has a big space at the end, and the second one has a big space at the beginning.
Here is the logic I am using to fill:

Ok, here a short tutorial. There are two kinds of dropdown lists: *ByIndex and ByKey.
To fill a DDByKey, create a DDIC type using the type editor and add enumeration values (and descriptions)
Example:
Create DDIC type "ShirtSize" with enum values ("S", "Small"), ("M", "Medium"), ("L", "Large")
Create context attribute "selectedSize" of type "ShirtSize"
Data binding: DropDownByKey.selectedKey -> selectedSize
Now, the dropdown list will display "Small", "Medium", "Large" and if you select for example "Large", the context attribute "selectedSize" contains value "L".
DDByIndex works differently. I think your problem is solved more easily with DDByKey.

Hello,
You can use Pull list for st.location transfers, if you are into WM managed then this pull list used a lot.
You can use the pulllist to the max. extent. But with IM managed plant the use is limited and this is used only for storage location transfers.
Issue cannot be done for Production orders. You can bring the materials to the req. storage locations and after that you have issue in the order or manually for the order.

How to get the whole list of Iview Templates

when I navigate:
Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP -> Templates -> Iview Templates
I get a long list of templates including Url Iviews etc
But, when I try to create my own Iview, the list of potential templates is much smaller, mainly including only the SAP related templates, BSP, Query, ITS etc.
Does anyone know how to make the full list of Iview Templates available for the Iview creation wizard ?

which iView templates are offerd within the iView creation wizard is determined by SystemAdmin -- Permissions -- Portal Permissions -- Applications.
Normally, you will have to have SuperAdminRole to see/change these settings.

How to fill the whole screen of my iMac with the photos I included in an iDVD project. (iDVD v. 7.1.2). I mean, during playing the burned dvd.
When I do "Enter Full Screen", the slide show fills the screen but the photo itself remains in the middle with a wide black border filling the rest.
Any cure for this ?

In iDVD Preferences - Turn off - TV-Safe area - and the Photos will fill the full area with just letterboxing or pillars as max.
Then "Save as a DiskImage" and test this and see if this plays better - before burning DVDs that's not as You want them.

Follow below steps
Step 1 - Create basic wdp table
Step 2 - Create context to store dropdown values Within your web dynpro application table
Now you need to create a context node to store the dropdown values, but this needs to be within the context node of your table.
For this example I will use fields CARRID and CARRNAME from structure SCARR to create the dropdown list within the table context.
Choose the attributes to represent the id and the text values
The finished context should now look like this
Step 3 - Update context mapping within VIEW
Within the Context tab of your view update the context node you have just modified (CARRIERS) right click and select 'Update Mapping'. Alternatively if this is a new context drag it from the right hand window and drop it onto the context node in the left window,
Step 4 - Update table field
Within the layout tab of the view, field the table field you want to replace with with a dropdown and remove the UI element associated with it
Now insert new dropdownbyindex UI cell element
Step 5 - Assign Dropdown Ui element to Context
Click on your UI element within the Layout tab, you will now see all the properties for this element which can be changed. You now need to assign the field within the context which you want to be displayed in the drop down i.e. it will be the CARRNAME field within context element DROPDOWN_CARR. To do this simply click on the button at the end of the 'texts' property (the one with a yellow square and circle on it) and select the correct context field.
Step 6 - ABAP code to populate dropdown list and set correct initial value
Insert the following ABAP code into the appropriate place. For this example it will go within the WDDOMODIFYVIEW method of the view.
Data: it_scarr type standard table of scarr, wa_scarr like line of it_scarr, context_node type ref to if_wd_context_node. Step 6 - Save, Activate and Run
