How to find Connection is commitable ?

Hi, i have one requirement that is i first made a connection object to connection.setAutoCommit(false); and i done some sql operations in the connection like execute select/inser/update statement after i finish all the operation i want to call commit on the connection object, but before calling the commit method is there is any way to find is the connection is commitable or not, if it is not commitable i need to call rollback
thanks in advance
baiju

Yes, almost all popular drivers support local transaction (transaction with in same connection object), but my requirement is to write a connection manager that will have number of dirrerent connection i want to write code for two phase commit on all the connection, it i first check weather all the connection object is commitable/or can call commit or i need to roll back all the connection objects in the transaction, so before executing any commit/rollback on all the connection i want to identfiy that all the connection is commitable or not
thank you

  • How to find connecting line

    Hi,
I have a spatial table with geom type as 2002.
I have a set of line (for example lets say it is 5 rows) attach image.
I need to find line that is inner connecting to these 5 rows. What I mean is a boundary line has inner line.
I am unable to get inner lines of a boundary.
If I query spatial table I get boundary line but i want inner lines.
    attach is snapshot for ref.
    thanks in advance

Thanks B Hall and Stefan Jager @@for your inputs.
Actually, in my database that has spatial geometry information has SDO_GTYPE is 2002 for ids that are connected to each other.
and I have a second table that has no spatial geometry by a polygon information (more than one line).
so for example in my poly_tab and line_tab
    poly_tab
    poly_id     line_id
    46951     1001
    46951     1005
    46951     1009
    46951     1032
    46951     1036
    56102     1072
    56102     1079
    56102     1082
    39024     1050
    39024     1045
........ and so on (note no spatial geometry column here and line_id is fk to line_tab and this table has line geom)
also to be noted here that 1002 and 1003 has no record in poly_tab table.
    line_tab
    line_id   mdsys.geometry(sdo_gtype
    1001        2002
    1005        2002
    1009        2002
    1032        2002
    1036        2002
    1072        2002
    1079        2002
    1082        2002
    1050        2002
    1045        2002
    1002        2002
    1003        2002
    1019        2002
    lets says if I query poly_tab where poly_id = 46951
    it should display
    line_id
    1001
    1005
    1009
    1032
    1036
    1002
    1003
note 1002 and 1003 are inner lines for this polygon but in poly_tab this line does not exits. (in poly table only boundary line exists)
    @Stefan Jager

  • How to find the number of users  connected to database from OS level(Linux)

    Hi All,
Could anyone know , how to find the number of users connected to database without connecting with sql*plus
is there any command to find it?
example we have 10 databases in one server, how to find the number of users connected to particular database without connecting to database(v$session)?
    oracle version:- 10g,11g
    Operating System:- OEL4/OEL5/AIX/Solaris
    any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Rajesh.

    Excellent.
Tested, works as long as you set the ORACLE_SID first ( to change databases )
    ps -ef | grep $ORACLE_SID | grep "LOCAL=NO" | awk '{print $2}' | wc -l
    Thanks!
    select OSUSER
        from V$SESSION
    where AUDSID = SYS_CONTEXT('userenv','sessionid')

  • How to find the number of ODBC connections to Oracle Database

    Hi All,
How to find the number of ODBC connections and all connections to the Database in last week. Are there any views to get this information?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mahi

What Ed said is true that Oracle doesn't note which type of protocol is connecting to the database, however, you can see which program is accessing the database.
For example: if you already know of a user using ODBC, you can verify as:
select username, osuser, terminal, program from v$session where username = 'SCOTT'
    USERNAME                 OSUSER          TERMINAL   PROGRAM
    SCOTT                    IUSR_SRV231     SRV231     w3wp.exe
    SCOTT                    IUSR_SRV231     SRV231     w3wp.exe
2 rows selected.Assuming that you can confirm the progam noted in the above (example) is the one using ODBC, then you can change the query such as:
    SQL> select username, osuser, terminal, program from v$session where program = 'w3wp.exe';
    USERNAME                 OSUSER          TERMINAL   PROGRAM
    SCOTT                    IUSR_SRV231     SRV231     w3wp.exe
    SCOTT                    IUSR_SRV231     SRV231     w3wp.exe
2 rows selected.Just for kicks, I checked our listener.log file, but there was no reference of odbc in it either.
    Hope this helps...

  • How to find out which jobs are connected to the user

Hello, i have a question, but i was unable to find the answer. The problem is that our internal consultant left the company, and there are certain jobs that run under his account. We want now to switch this jobs to other accounts. The problem we are facing is how to find out what jobs, or job steps are connected with his account, so we can safely demote his account, so that no other jobs will be run under his account. Thank you very much
    Sincerely,
    Luka Prijic

the only reliable way to do this is by scanning table TBTCP using the person's userID in field AUTHCKNAM and filtering by job statuses: scheduled, released, ready and active (sorry I can't remember the code#'s off top of my head, something like P=scheduled, S=scheduled...you have to look it up).   When you search SM37 it only permits you to scan by the userID who created the job, but it won't tell you if a different userID is defined in a job step.  That's why you need to scan TBTCP.  Don't forget that you should also check for a user's open Workflow items before deletion.
I noticed some posts in this forum that suggest a userID should never be deleted, only locked, added to a special user group, and all role assignments removed.  However I've never worked somewhere that does this.

    Thanks!

I called Apple Support and they walked me through it. They told me to basically copy and paste my music to the external hard drive. (I think.) Or maybe it was they had me transfer a folder to the EHD. I don't exactally remember it was a few years back. But I tried to plug in the EHD before starting and...nothing. Still says same thing, "locate file."

    2) Please share the method for,
For single server system (A single sun server is connected with exernal disk array).
For Cluster server system (Two servers are connected as a sun cluster and Disk array is connected to the cluster as resource).
    3) If the disk array is from SUN or from other vendor, how can i know that?
    4) How to find how many disks are available in the Disk array?

  • The ikon for connecting to wifi no the top is gone..? How to find it ?

Hi! The ikon for connecting to wifi at the top is gone and I wonder how to find it and activate it Afghanistan?

    Hi andy,
I have the same ports as you on my Ti and my TV and the 4 pin S-Video cable works just fine.
I also have an S-Video to RCA adapter, and the S-Video end has 6 pins, so I'm thinking that the extra 2 pins have something to do with converting from S-Video to RCA.
I don't know if the UK has Radio Shack stores, but a quick call to an electronics store like that should yield a definitive answer to the extra 2 pins if you really want to know.
BTW how do I add a link to a message without showing the whole address.
That's called html language. Do a google and you'll come up with all kinds of fun things you can do with html.

i have a table which stores the itemcode, stockupdated(number) and date on which the stocks are updated. A record is inserted in the table through a trigger. if two records of the same itemcode have got committed at the same instance(with the same time gap)..how do i find the recent committed record through SQL

    hi,
i think, u can do that using the rowid, select the rowid on ur table in which u r inserting records in descending order.
    "select * from table_name
    order by rowid desc;"
and the first rowid is unique corresponds to each reocrod inserted in the table.
