How to find the database name?

Hi,
I have a little problem with my database under DB2.
I acces this database through the ODBC with the name TESTALIAS, but the real name of the database is TEST. So what I need to find out is if there is a possibility to get the real name of the database.
I used the com.ibm.db.DatabaseConnection class for the connection, but there seems nothing to indicate me the real name of this database.
Have you any idea??? maybe another class that do this?
thanks,
alina

if somebody is interested in, the following SQL Statement gets the real database name out and not the alias:
SELECT CURRENT SERVER FROM one_table_name
I don't know if the register CURRENT SERVER work for all DB environment, but for DB2 ist does.
cheers,
alina

    Hi,
Thanks for your response. It is PM related.  When I run a T Code - IK18,  the field Total Counter Reading field appears. I am looking for that particular fields actual table name and field name.  I think I have found it in IMGR table. Now I want to get IMRG-READG in my report, but there is no common fields in neither MKPF or MSEG table. So what can I do to connect IMRG table with either of them ?

  • How to find the database growth rate?

Wanted to do the forecasting of disk growth for one year. How to find the database growth rate?
    Rahul

This is code authored by Richard Ding that will log database sizes to a table.  If you run it every day, then you can go back and compare the database size differences day to day... week to week... month to month... and year over year.  That is
how I forecast growth over time.
Note:  There is a database name required that is local to your environment, so change [YOURDATABASENAME] to whatever local database you wish to use.  I will also post the DDL to create the target table.  Create that table in the database you
name in the stored procedure code and all should run fine.

  • How to find the File name using the FTP Adapter

    hi all,
how to find the File name using the FTP Adapter with BPEL.
    Regards

    Found the solution for this.
First In the mediator's routing rule use assign property $in.property.jca.file.FileName to $out.property.jca.file.FileName
In the BPEL's receive activity go to the properties tab and get the property to a BPEL variable. That should do it.

how to find the form name  from VA02 T.code

    Hi Rajyam,
I guess you are looking out for the formname which prints sales related documents.
If this is what you want, then go to the T-code NACE and select the option K1Sales activities and click on the Output Types button on the top.The new window has all the types of Output types listed.Select the most appropriate and double click on the Processing routines button in the left side screen.
The new window lists the program names and the forms associated with that output type.
In case you have any further clarifications,do let me know.

in that give program name as <b>*followed by your query name</b>
    (for example *TESTQUERY)
and run , that will give progname======queryname.

  • How to modify the database name

    Hi people
Im a developer and it's the first time that I use the Xe version of oracle. I need to modify the database name but I don't know how to make this. Im finding the commands but I don't meet this.
    Anyone can help me?
    Thanks
    Best Regards

    Hi,
XE is XE is XE ... ;-)
If you'd like to rename it you may get a database license for at least a STANARD EDITION ONE database, upgrade your XE to SE-ONE and then rename your database.
But (as it has been noted before) for obvious reasons there's no way to rename an XE database to something else :-)
    Kind regards
    Mike
