How to fix changes in Terminal due to blocked Facebook in Vietnam

Hello, all.
I recently went on a trip to Vietnam where access to Facebook is blocked by the government. I googled how to get around the blocks and came across this website:

After applying the changes as directed I was still unable to access Facebook, presumably because the loophole had already been closed by the government.
Now that I am back in Thailand, where I live, I am still unable to access Facebook. I get a "Network Error" message along with this description:
"A communication error occured: 'connection reset by peer.' The web server may be down, busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests."
I figured that the easiest way to fix the problem would be to go into Terminal and simply delete the changes I have made. However, whenever I input "sudo nano/etc/hosts I get the following message:
"sudo: nano/private/etc/hosts: command not found"
I would really appreciate if someone could help me fix this problem as I need to access Facebook to promote my business.

The host file has been modified by someone (you?). Whatever application that was used to modify the file left Window's line endings (CRLF). If you are not comfortable using a unix text editor then download TextWrangler.
The following is an unmodified host file.

You can attempt to replace the modified host file with the text above or re-install the operating system.

The convention that I have always used was to copy (Command-C) from the editor, and paste (Command-V) in the terminal and it has worked for me thus far.
Found keyboard commands faster to work with, than trackpad stuff.

How can I change the termination character (Hex 00) in LabVIEW?

I'm talking to a 3rd party device over USB where I make function calls to their DLL. I send and receive Hex commands as Strings data type. I can send without problem however when I read back a string that should be Hex "FF 00 FF", I get back "FF" because LabVIEW sees 00 as a termination character so I don't get any data past the 00. Likewise if I'm supposed to read "00 FF", I get back nothing! The following KB linked below explains that LabVIEW sees 00 as a termination character. It shows where using Serial to change the termination character to something else. I don't have this option using my 3rd party USB device. Is there a way to change what LabVIEW sees as it's termination character?

That article is talking about two things. The first has to do with the fact that in C strings are terminated using 0x00. The second part has to do with a serial port read terminating once it sees 0x00. Based on what you described, I don't believe the second part does not apply to you since you are calling a third-party DLL, so it's doing the serial port read. Is this correct? Or, are you actually doing the serial port read yourself using VISA functions? If you are just calling their DLL, then the issue has to do with the string being passed back from the DLL to LabVIEW. You're probably passing in a string datatype. You should simply change this to a byte array so you get all the values.

How to fix the search problem due to timezone?

I live in GMT+8 timzone. I just migrated a site from SP2010 to SP2013. After migrated when I search for a managed property (datetime) all results return is 1 day later.
To troubleshoot the problem, I setup a new managed property using "Text" datatype. In refinement panel for that managed property I found the refinement are all looks like 2013/12/11 16:00:00. (which should be 2013/12/12 00:00:00)
The old server is running in GMT+8. The only different is SP2010 and SP2013.I have changed the web application -> general settings -> timezone to GMT+8 and the site collection settings as well. We did not enable "My site" so there
is no personal regional settings. What else I can check? What should I check and how can I make the search work as expected?

Once a document is stored and uploaded it has the UTC time stamp on it. Now this timestamp cannot be changed.
So you either use timezone when the document was uploaded or use it the same way.
BTW what difference does it make with the time it shows?
The field in question is designed to store a "Date" value only not the "Time". The time is always 00:00:00.
In the old farm, users search for 2013/12/31 will get the results with field value 2013/12/31. Now in the new farm, with the timezone problem, search for 2013/12/31 will get the results with field value 2014/1/1

Question is how do we ensure that our app always picks up the newer version of log4j jar bundled with the app and not the one in the lib/ext folder of the jre,

I fixed this issue when I realised I had set a passoword many months ago when I was in Windows 8.1 If you found that your BIOS is locked, use a password you've used for other 'important' things. How can I change the language of a block of text

Hi,
Working in a bilingual environment, I am constantly switching languages as I write e-mail. Using Mail 3.5, if I forget to change the dictionary language before I start writing, Mail logically marks most words as spelled incorrectly. After having written a paragraph, I'd like to be able to change dictionary language, and then continue writing.
But Mail doesn't seem to change the language for the text that was already entered -- the words that were "misspelled" according to the old dictionary language are still underlined in red after the new dictionary is chosen, and after I've told it to "Check document now".
How can I get it to re-evaluate the text as now being in the language of the dictionary, so that all those incorrect red underlines will disappear?

Phooey! I accept that Mail is limited to one language at a time. I don't accept that the spell checking fails to work if I switch which dictionary is in use after having already written some text.

Er, I hate to say it... MS Entourage does do it, perfectly.
I recently gave up Entourage and switched to Mail, because I decided to stick to all Apple software so that syncing would be smoother. The syncing does work much better now that I've eliminated Entourage from the equation...
...but why can't I switch languages and get the dictionary to evaluate the text in the language I've chosen?! Otherwise, can someone explain to me the meaning of allowing the user to select a new language from the popup in the "Show Spelling and Grammar" dialog, if that new language won't then be used for spell-checking, whether for all the text, or the selected text? What is the purpose of allowing use of an interface control which doesn't then do what it obviously is supposed to do? It seems like Apple has broken its own HIG here.

Yes, someone stole my original apple id in 2009. Now i bought another iphone in late 2012 , Created another apple id due to Apple not being able to help me access my original apple id. Which now since 2 months ago someone or company, or bank stole my second apple id. My iphone 4s with Sprint has no celluar connection supossedly due to no internet that is what sprint said but I looked it up on apple and it stated that there is a cellluar block on my iphone4s.
So I guess I will have to go in person to Sprint so they can explain that to me and why I was lied to on the phone earlier. Back to my 2nd stolen apple id that I registered my macbook,airport express router, and iphone4s and apple TV. So who ever stole this apple id obviously took over all my mac products I had registered to it. Enough about that back to trying to use time machine....Everytime i do, my macbook just starts acting all screwed up. I bought a WD external drive for Mac but I believe someone must have claimed it too. Since there is 75gb on it that I can't access. Kind of like my Macbook stating I can't save or have access to the Root . That is another thing after reinstalling snow lepoard which works great until I update it. Which is a problem because everytime I update it to 10.6.8 All the permissions are changed the graphics look horrible and I get redirected so bad its not funny. The email account is a joke. Also I notice my stationary for email is in Spanish not sure why and on Iworks the document samples are also in spanish. Now I dont speak any other language except ENGLISH AND HAVE LIVED IN UNITEDSTATES MY ENTIRE LIFE. But my internet provider Fibrant which swears they are local shows it is in the UK also when i try to access my email for that account it states it is not safe , certificate is expired and someone might be trying to impersonate my server. Needless to say it is getting old. I had this same problem with Timewarner and Att except att would just remove my ethernet driver then laugh when i would call and ask what the problem was. Then later I find out when I had DSL that somehow the phone number they had listed was change to being a digit off from my DSL account which again they laughed and thought it was funny. Enough about that. I need to know how to get access to my Apple id. I gave up on the first one but the second one I did have access to until I registered all my apple products. What is up with every thing I have with a usb port being corrupt. I won't to connect my iphone to itunes to try to restore it but it states I have to update it to 10.6.8. When I do that my computer is alot worse off. Also how can I use TimeMachine with out my Macbook getting messed up? Something in my house has taken over anything with a usb port actually years ago and probably now something kept turning all my computers and phones or any electronic I owned it to a printer. I actually can't even use a printer in my home thats the funny thing. When I try to connect one when I used windows it stated I had no rights to it and couldn't use it. Since I switch to Mac not much better. When I try to print a test page it is all crooked and too small of half off the page. So it is upsetting that I can't use a printer but something keeps turning all my electronics into printers. If anyone knows how to fix this problem that would be great or to stop all this international stuff going on in my home that would be wonderful. I try to buy brand new pcs but soon as I start them up something had already taken over. This is with nothing electronic in my home on. Turn everything that a power switch off or unplugged it. Try to type the formula for resetting the password and nope it didn't work either.

you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on any iOS devices that you have by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on them
If that doesn't fix it then contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
