How to fix partition table by use fdisk

i installed vista with my os x.
each time i boot into my vista the system shows "partition tablr not recognized" and then load some loaders from vista.
there's also a message showing that " use windows fdisk" to fix the problem.
i'm not good at computer. so please guide me step by step to solve the problem.
thanks in advance.

You should probably purchase a legitimate retail version of Windows Vista. The error comes from the BIOS emulation hack that bypasses the Vista activation function.
It should eventually boot, however. After which, you can open the command shell, and type:
*bootrec.exe /fixmbr*
*bootrec.exe /fixboot*
... which ought to make the message go away (and Vista boot faster).

    Web = /srv
    DNS = /var
    DHCP = /var
Mail = Depends which package you use. I use postfix and told it to use /srv
I would half your swap, reduce /var and put the extra space into /srv
Also create a separate /tmp and /home to prevent accidental or deliberate DoS attacks by filling your / partition

             5   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0 25682 25682   0   0Now a bit of explanation.
    1) Whenever you pivot rows to columns, no matter what version of Oracle and no matter what method you use, you have to decide in advance how many columns you are going to have and what the names of the columns are. This is a requirement of the SQL standard.
    2) I use the WHERE clause to get just the data for this year
    3) With EXTRACT, I get just the month without the year.
    4) Using DECODE, I put every month's data into the correct column
    5) Once I do all that, I can just GROUP BY order_code while SUMming all the data for each month.

How to hide system tables when using the Oracle SQL Developer? if u connected with sys, system or user with dba role then u have a privilege to see these tables,so revoke the privilege/role from ur user to view this tables if ur connected other then sys, system,
I didnt find a way to create a separate database using the Oracle Sql Developer. DBCA is a tool for creating the new database.

    Thank you,
Yes we've done that. They've confirmed a problem with the links/scripts on the note. The 10.1 and up version was not really 10.1 and up.
As they would not have a new version available in time for the move we needed to perform, we switched our approach to using dbms_redefinition instead.

    Hi,
Create a two lines one for header and second for data in the table.
1)In table painter we can find the pencil mark.
    2)select the pencil mark
3)now select the line which you need to shade
    4) now select the shading colour in the table painter and the provide the resolution up to 100% and select table pattrn for that line.
    5) Now you can use this for the header now only the header gets shaded and the remaining gets unshaded.

  • Should I partition the disks using fdisk (300 GB lun) for ASM?

We've configured oracle 11g and asm on SLES10sp2 systems prior to the one I'm working on now. We use disks that are luns from SAN storage. The SAN devices vary (Tier 1 and tier 2). In earlier installs, we did not need to partition the disks using fdisk (luns up to 40GB in size). We did need to write a label using fdisk and 'w'. The asm that is being configured now is using 300 GB luns (on sles10 sp2 oracle 11g). I've needed to create a new primary partition using fdisk and then have asm 'look' as the partitioned device. If I did not do that, ASM would not look at the unpartitioned device.
The database in now built and it seems to be working ok.
    Does this config sound ok?
    Thanks,
    Eleanor

I think this is right. I also always had to partition disks and let asm use the partitions because for some reason it did not accept the full device.

  • How to import partitioned tables in different tablespace

    Hi everyone,
I try to import the partitioned tables in different tablespace.
    Consider the following situation:
I have a dump file which is created by using "Export" utility. Some data are in partitioned tables, some of them are in non-partitioned tables. Also, all tables are located in "MYTBS" tablesapce. I try to import all data from this dump file to another database. I didn't get error messages when importing the data from non-partitioned tables. However, I got error message when importing the data from partitioned tables. The error message is: tablespace 'MYTBS' does not exist.
I just want to how I can solve this problem other than create 'MYTBS' tablespace for my new database.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to fix skewed table columns and rows after re-import XML

My question is regarding XML Import in InDesign CS3.
I have a XML that has a table of 5 columns and 5 rows, when I import it into InDesign, the table shows up fine with 5 columns and 5 rows. However when I revise my table to have an additional column, and re-import the XML file, the table gets updated, but instead of with an additional column, it gets 'appended' with an additional row instead (InDesign seems to blindly replace each cell from left to right, top to bottom, and ends up with 6 rows instead). The XML file specifies the number of columns and rows (5 and 5 before, 5 and 6 after), why doesn't InDesign recognize it and automatically add a new column when I re-import the file?  Is this problem fixed in CS5.5? Is there a script to fix this?
Here is an example of my old XML vs new XML:

What I mean is, right now there is a "workaround" which requires a user to manually add an extra column before re-importing the XML (with an extra column), otherwise the results get skewed. If by providing a script we can simply ask the user to "run" it, it would be a more "acceptable" solution.
Right. So, one solution would be to use Convert Text to Tables. If you find that works for you, then you can script it.
    That's why I asked you...
Of course if nothing is required from the user other than simply re-importing, then that would be the best solution.
Well, one could imagine a script that was attached to the re-import command, or to the link update notification, but probably the first step is to get something that works reasonably well without automating it completely. Especially because triggers to run scripts silently can introduce hard-to-debug problems.
Sure we can switch to use "CALS table and see if this works. The question is, why should we need to? In the 2nd XML there is clearly a different "aid:tcols" value, and yet InDesign seems to ignore it and assume the same # of columns? This sounds like an Indesign bug, can someone confirm? Is there any plans to fix this?
Not to be snarky, but do you want it to work or not? There are the tools you have and the tools you wish you had, and you can't really do much with the ones you wish you had. I'm kind of assuming you are looking for a solution today, not a solution in 2013.
Yes,  I believe two of us have confirmed this appears to be a bug.
Plans to fix? Well, we can't really tell you. You could try asking Adobe, but that's not easy information to get out. But you can certainly open a support case at http://adobe.com/go/supportportal and ask. It's not like we have special information here...
But you're probably better off filing a bug first, in that same fashion.
But let's assume no one had filed the bug. CS6 is expected in the March/April 2012 timeframe. That means that they're probably just putting the finishing touches on it right now, and it's going to be very difficult to fix things in it now. So then the earliest you'd likely get it fixed in CS6.5/CS7/whatever which presumably comes out by 2Q2013, and that's assuming Adobe decides to fix it...
I also can't find much documentation on how to update my table to a "CALS table", any examples?

  • How to rebuild partition table

    Hi, everyone
Two months ago I broke my partition table by trying to install windows 8. I had it repaired with "test-disk" , but the problem is that gparted now sees my disk as a whole 300Gb unpartitioned space, fdisk however recognizes the partition table. I was wondering what will happen if I press 'w' in fdisk will this format the partitions and erase everything, or will it just try to do something similar to what test-disk did? I want to do this because now I have a 50 gig partition left for windows and I want to add this to my / partition. Before the problems I used to do this kind of operations with gparted.
    Thanks

ewaller wrote:Kind of like tearing up the map.
That's why you zerox of the map (dd ... bs=440 count=1 or at least fdisk -l /dev/... >somefile) before you rip it up.  The latter is all I needed to save my butt when I borked a PT.  As long as you use your head, there is no reason dicking with the partition table particularly warrants a full data backup.
That said, you can bet your @$$ I'd backup even "reaquirable" data in this situation, unless doing so was more trouble than reaquiring it would be.  "An ounce of prevention" and such.  Unique data, fugeddaboudit.  I have at least three copies of stuff I can't replace and don't want to lose.

  • How to dd Partition Table through First Partition

Hi; I have a flash drive which has a single NTFS partition that fills up less space than the whole drive (so there's a bunch of empty/unused space at the end of the drive). I'd like to use dd to make an image from the very beginning of the drive (to catch the partition table) through the end of the NTFS partition, ignoring the empty space after it. I tried the commands below but they didn't seem to work (a copy of the drive had partition table issues):
    dd count=1 bs=512 if=/dev/sdb of=partition_table.img
    dd bs=8M if=/dev/sdb1 of=sdb1.img
    cat sdb1.img >> partition_table.img
    rm sdb1.img
    mv partition_table.img mydrive.img
Any ideas? Am I failing to capture something between the partition table and the first partition? Or is it possible my partition table is not 512 bytes?

My suggestion is to dd the MBR (dd if=/dev/XXX of=<image file> bs=512 count=1) and use ntfsclone or fsarchiver to make the image.
But if you want to use dd for the whole image:
    $ fdisk -l /dev/sda
    Disk /dev/sda: 251.1 GB, 251059544064 bytes, 490350672 sectors
    Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
    Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
    I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
    Disk label type: dos
    Disk identifier: 0x4d9ddc04
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
    /dev/sda1 2048 2099199 1048576 83 Linux
    /dev/sda2 * 2099200 2303999 102400 83 Linux
    /dev/sda3 2304000 490350671 244023336 8e Linux LVM
To image everything through the first partition, I would (dd if=/dev/sda of=image bs=512 count=2099200). I stop at 1+ the end of the partition, because the first sector is 0, rather than 1. You can also modify the bs for better performance, but you'll have to modify the count accordingly. For a 1M bs I think you divide the count by 2048 (FYI, this is completely unrelated to the fact that the partition starts on sector 2048). But I would suggest you do the math yourself.

    Christian333, welcome to the forum,
I personally have never heard of your problem, others may have, but I would start by running Drive Fitness Test from Hitachi to check the hard drive. Even if you don't have an Hitachi drive it will say whether or not the drive is OK. I always run it from CD.
If the drive is OK I would then run Secure Data Disposal at it's lowest level in order to eliminate anything in the boot sectors and then afterwards the recovery discs. If problems are then experienced it's time to call service.
    Hope this helps

  • How to know a table is using in any packeges or procedures

    Dear All
How can I know that a table is using in any packege or procedure or function ?
    I mean , let say I have 10 Packages , 10 Procedures and 5 Functions .
I need to know in which Packages , Procedures or Functions are using the table EMP .
How can I search ? Is there any command or I need to open all the procedures and then search one by one ?

    Hi everyone,
Did anyone interest in the topic search for dependencies between objects in the database?
I want to see the PL/SQL code which is an appeal to a particular procedure or function or package and where and how does an object use in any PL/SQL code.
Often do you have a need to get answers to these questions?
I say about an object usage presentation, not about its relations only.
Do you want to know, how opbject used?
    If it's a table - what's DML?(insert/select/...)
If it used in a package - which procedure of package uses in?
The object usage in an external objects - Oracle*Forms/Reports,Flat/Word files, Informatica.
I'll want to know, if everybody interested to one.

  • Total number of records of partition tables exported using datapump

    Hi All,
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production
    OS: RHEL
I exported a table with partitions using datapump and I would like to verify the total number of all the records exported of all these partition tables. The export has a query on it with WHERE ITEMDATE< TO_DATE (1-JAN-2010). I need it to compare with the exact amount of records in the actual table if it's the same.
Below is the log file of the exported table. It does not show the total number of rows exported but only individually via partition.
    Starting "SYS"."SYS_EXPORT_TABLE_05": '/******** AS SYSDBA' dumpfile=data_pump_dir:GSDBA_APPROVED_TL.dmp nologfile=y tables=GSDBA.APPROVED_TL query=GSDBA.APPROVED_TL:"

I assume you want this so you can run a script to check the count? If not and this is being done manually, then just add up the individual rows. I'm not very good at writing scripts, but I would think that someone here could come up with a script that would sum up the row count for the partitions of the tables from your log file. This is not something that Data Pump writes to the log file.
