How to fix Selection in ALV OO?

Hello,
I have generated an ALV with OO.
Is it possible to fix the Selection of rows, so that the marks remain, even if I have clicked on a cell?

Hi Sergej Becker
U cannot fix selection in ALV, if at all u want to do so... programatically u need to handle that. Lets say user selected 10 records. U can check these row in the internal table marked field. If your restriction is upto 5rows only. then give an error or warning saying 'Selection is restricted upto 5 rows'.
And remove the other selections and leave 5 records selected from the top.
This can be done I think.

How to fix "Select List with Submit" Problem

I have a report with two regions. Region1 has a list item which is set to "Select List with Submit". Based on the list/item value selected in the Region1, the data is displayed in the Region 2.
Question: How do I ge the report, Region2, to have the data populated based on the first value in the list when the page is loaded - for the first time. Currently, when the page is accessed, the list has the first value selected in the Region1 list item by default, but the Region2 is blank.

I did that and it works, only if the first value in the select list is always going to be there. The select list is based on a column data in a table. And if the data for that column changes then the values in the select list will change. And, the first value might not always be the same.
I guess I'm not clear why this isn't doing what you want, besides the fact that
you seemed to have removed the default value from the dynamic select list query, which you shouldn't do.
I removed the first value (it could have been any values) from the select list to mimic the "dynamic" select list -- just to test. The select list data is based on a table and the data in the table can change.

How to Fix Select list with redirect Problem

Hi
I have a field F1 of type select list with redirect.
It has an LOV with 2 values USA and Canada for eg..
I choose USA and hit save and saved it to DB..
now f1 is stored in table with my User ID and value is USA.
when I log in next into this page,
this field should show me the value USA.
But its not happeneing for me..it always gives the null value when i re login
is there a way to default/source it to my value??
I am using
select f1 from table
where user_id=:user_id;
i checked and this query works in sql plus...

My browser will not load a page or update unless I am actively moving my cursor or typing. If I select a page and don't do anything then it doesn't load at all. I have no idea how this happened or how to fix it. Thanks.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

How can I select and enlarge the entire doc,ge on a page, reducing the surrounding boarder. I can move the difference text boxes about independently of each other but the outer most boarders of the main template block appear to be fixed.

When I try to use the internal hard drive as a scratch disk I get this error "unable to set scratch disk- the selected directory is on write protect or non-writable media. Any ideas on how to fix this. It only happens in fcp.

By internal, I assume you're referring to your systems (boot) drive. Is it, by chance, a partitioned dive?
Also…although many people successfully use their systems drives as scratch disks, over time you'll have better results using a dedicated drive for your media.

How to process Line Selection on ALV Table in ABAP WebDynpro

Hi there,
I have a view with an ALV table whose context node retrieves its data from a Service Call for a method.
The method provides certain data of a database table which the ALV displays.
Now I would like to be able to select one row of that ALV table and after pressing a button or doubleclicking on the row or whatever a different view (as for me it is also ok on the same view) should appear to display the details of that selection.
I only need to know how to retrieve the selected data.
Or its index within the internal table.
I am already looking for hours for a useful thread and actually there is one which obviously is about a similar issue apart from the multiple selection part:

but i am afraid that i don't understand it. Or at least I misunderstand it since it does not work with me.
The system example mentioned in the thread does not help me either because it somehow does not correspond to my needs, does it?
It would be GREAT if somebody could help me with that. Please keep it simple for I am not an expert in webdynpro yet (obviously ^^) and also please explain in detail what I have to do with the context nodes since I am not sure whether the selection is stored in my already existing node or whether I need a special one for that.

Hi Christina,
If you just want to get one column data of the line that user clicked, use the Web Dynpro Code Wizard to Read Context of attibute you needed, then you will get code as follow:
* Define data for read attribute
 node_alv TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node,
 elem_alv TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element,
 stru_alv TYPE if_view_display=>element_alv ,
 item_column_name LIKE stru_alv-column_name.
* navigate from <CONTEXT> to <ALV> via lead selection
node_alv = wd_context->get_child_node( name = if_view_display=>wdctx_alv ).
* get element via lead selection
elem_alv = node_alv->get_element( ).
* get single attribute
elem_alv->get_attribute(
 EXPORTING
 name = `COLUMN_NAME'
 IMPORTING
 value = item_column_name ).
The value of column_name is stored in item_column_name.
If you need the index that the user clicked, try this:
* Definition of field symbol for index
FIELD-SYMBOLS : <fs_index> TYPE data.
* Get the selected index
ASSIGN r_param->index->* TO <fs_index>.
The index of clicked line is stored in field symbol <fs_index>.

Hello. How do I select notes in a given velocity range and fix them to a new value? I believe you can do this with the Transform window, but I can't figure it out. I can select ALL the notes and fix them to a value. But I want to select the notes within a range (and there are many) and fix them to a new value. Thanks for your help.

The transform window will also select, as well as operate.
Select Notes = Velocity within 20 > 40 (or whatever) and click Select only.
You've just selected all notes within that velocity range. You can now use different transform criteria to "Operate" only on that selection, or use the other editors with those notes selected.

You can use the method get_selected_rows.
 CALL METHOD gv_alv->get_selected_rows
 IMPORTING
 ET_INDEX_ROWS =
 et_row_no = lt_selected_rows.
READ TABLE lt_selected_rows INTO ls_selected_row INDEX 1 .
The table lt_selected_rows will contain all the selected rows.

By default when you use the selection mode for the ALV as Multi/Mutli No Lead then this option is enabled.
Try to implement the event ONLEADSELECT and check wether this event is triggered or not.
DATA: lo_value type ref to cl_salv_wd_config_table.
    CALL METHOD lo_value->if_salv_wd_table_settings~set_selection_mode
      EXPORTING
        value = cl_wd_table=>e_selection_mode-multi_no_lead.
Try to implement these event for ALV and put a break-point and test which event is getting triggered.

wd_comp_controller->set_alv_config( ).

wd_this->set_maktx( ). "<- for displaying maktx
ENDMETHOD.
When I want to select a line, do not selected.
I know because of "wd_this->set_maktx( )." sentence.
But I want to select multi lines in above condition...
How to keep selected lines in alv?

What logic is taking place in wd_this->set_maktx( )? It is pretty difficult to say what is causing the issue without knowing what code you are executing? If you are resetting the context bound to the ALV, that would explain why you are losing your selections.

Same here on an older iMac since Lion. Thanks for the uncheck wake for network access tip though, it doesn't do it either in that case, I will leave it that way.
