How to form URL

Hello All,
I have created a Web Dynpro Application. (using WD-ABAP).
Now i ahve to provide the URL of this application to call the component from other application with in same system.
how to form the url of the application.
when i trnsport the application to other server(for eg: to Q ), URL will change.
the path given in help.sap.com is
<schema>://<host>.<domain>.<extension>:<port>/sap/bc/webdynpro/<namespace>/<application name>?<parameter name>=<parameter value>
here how can i get <host>.<domain>.<extension>:<port> ?

Hi,
For a WD Application :<schema>://<host>.<domain>.<extension>:<port> has to maintained in the customizing, as they are set to be changed whenever the application is run from a different system.
You have to read the customizing everytime and then concatenate.

I have a requirement to dynamically form my URL. Further suppose I have a left navigation portlet which has 3 links and right navigation portlet should show the content for the respective links clicked on left navigation portlet.so in this scenario I need to dynamically create my url which I need to display on the right hand side portlet
Dynamic access to portlet B
Portlet A ------------------------------------------> Portlet B
The Url which has to be displayed on portlet B has to created dynamically in my portlet A,
i.e portlet A should dynamically access portlet B and the page of Portlet B which has to be displayed and create the URL,Once the URL is formed I should be able to access portlet B,
Portlet A ---> access Portlet B context ---> get portlet B context ----> get Portlet B output jsp page and hence form the url
Portlet A = (Portlet B context) + (get Portlet B output jsp page)
= Well formed URL of output jsp page which is in the right hand portlet B
If u have the source code pertaining to above/material.please share it with me.

Im using oracle forms 11gR2 and everything is working fine, but my question in how to make the forms url short to the end user.
For example my forms url is " http://localhost:9001/forms/frmservlet " now i want to modify this url as "myweb.gov.ae"
can anybody suggest me the possibilities to change to default forms url to our own url as mentioned in the above example.

You would have to either -
* edit the code pointed to by the new action attribute to
include the form
processing and email generation, or
* edit the form processing script to also include the insert
record and
check user name scripting
The former is probably the better procedure, since I suppose
you'd want to
do the check user name before sending the email.
Unfortunately, this means
you will have to get your hands into the code, or hire
someone to do it for
you.

How to change 10g forms url ?

Hello,
I developed forms in 10g forms developer and I can call my forms from web browser with default url like http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=myform.
Is there anyway the change that url like http://myform.com or something?

Well, the first thing to understand is that when you call the Forms Servlet (frmservlet) you are calling a java application and not static content like an html page. So, changing the URL isn't exactly as easy as it would be for a simple web page. On the other hand, hiding the the real URL or redirecting to the proper url can be done fairly easily.
All of these assume you are using Application Server.
OPTION 1 - Hide The URL +(more information can be found in MyOracleSupport note 300326.1)+

Error while executing Form URL

Dear Experts,
Install and configure weblogic server 10.3.3.4.0 and then Oracle Portal, Forms, Report, Discoverer are successfully.
But I have problem when executing Form URL such as HTTP://localhost:8090/forms/frmservlet.

For example.I have downloaded a code in http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/3787.I want to make it work properly.So I configure my DataSocket Server Manger according to the URL of this statement.

How to specify URL in server.xml of Tomcat

Hi Everybody,
I need help.How to specify url in the server.xml.
I developed one application in the Tomcat 3.3.I want to access the by entering uri(like:http:test.com).
What are tags to enter in the server.xml.
Right now i am accessing like:http://localhost:8080/Test/Login.jsp
I want replace this with (www.test.com).
This site will access from anywhere means it is going to live.
So what are things have to do in the server.xml
Please provide the solution.

How to encode url and its paramters in PL/SQL to call a page using html GET method? Is there any equiavlent method of java's URLEncoder.encode() method in pl/sql (in any web packages) ?

Oh sorry i though people can understand what I was trying to ask...
Actually how to create url systems like twitter and facebook, where the url seem to become a folder name like
twitter.com/exoot
twitter.com/adobe
where "exoot" and "adobe" are users name.
Are these made possible by creating index.php file at the folder like this?
twitter.com/exoot/index.php
twitter.com/adobe/index.php
Or theres other url caching methods which capture/cache the "exoot" and "adobe" string and fetch thee user data from the server.
But if they have to create such a folder system, it would be a large amount of file storing would be required and updating all the would be extreamly hard..
My question is how this possible if they didnt practise the folder system i meantioned above... because i want to create such a system like
exoot.100webspace.com/username
instead of
exoot.100webspace.com/page.php?id=username
where, by using the username I able to show the username's profile page by fetching mysql.

You can read parameters send from one WebDynpro Component to another component by adding code in "HANDLEDEFAULT" Event Handler method ( Window )of your target Web Dynpro Component.
