How to generate button action in another JPanel?

I want to get a line draw in another JPanel 2 when I click the button in JPanel 1.
Can I acheive it in any way?

give JPanel 1 a pointer to JPanel 2
add an actionlistener to the button in JPanel 1
with some code like
JPanel2.addLine();

Hi Experts,
Working on jdev 11.1.1.3.0, ADF BC with rich faces.
I have requirement in my application like i need to show popup and at the same time need to download file. like on selected rows in the table i have validation on each row, if the validation failed rows i need to show in popup to user at the same time i have validation success rows also those rows i need to generate a file and that file i need to download.
i have written logic in the command button which has fileDownload, here remaing logic is working fine except showing popup. can any one tell me how to solve this issue.

After chaning actionEvent.forceFullSubmit(); now everything is working fine, but now the problem is if i came from another jsff page to the current page then my file download is not happening i am getting on my browers like error on ....

How to read URL by button action event

Can some one please show me how to add a ...... I call it URL reader to the action of a button of another class?
Lets say I have a url reader class and the following code

I am not very much familiar with java so this is all I could write. I used a string concatenation to break the url. Can some please show me how do I add this to the button of another class and the button to JTextFiled of another class?

First of all, change your method so that url2 is an argument of the method:
public void uRLReader(String url2) throws Exception {and remove the declaration of url2 from the body of the method.
Then, write and ActionListener class (it could be an anonymous inner class) to read the textfield you want, then invoke uRLReader, passing that text as an argument.
That's basically it.

Z-Button - How to call a Action Profile to Open a PDF-Doc. within an Event?

we have created a Z-Button that afterwards creates an event. In the coding for the event an Action Profile should be called and a PDF-Document should be opened. We have copied the coding from the standard button 'Print Preview' which is calling the standard event: EH_ONPRINT_PREVIEW.

How to use same actions for differ pop-up buttons

Hi gurus,
I am using 2 popup in a view.same popup's having same buttons 'Yes', 'No'.when i use 1st one i have to create an action for that Yes button where i put my code for that particular Action.
But when i used 2nd one the action define for that is not acceptable with differ name.it takes only standard one.
Now my Query is : How to use same actions for differ pop-up buttons with in a similar view?Where i put my code.

u can use the method SUBSCRIBE_TO_BUTTON_EVENT of the IF_WD_WINDOW interface ... to handle the event fired by the popup .....used this method after creating the popup window ...

How to place a JPanel at the center of another JPanel?

Can anyone tell me how to place a JPanel inside another JPanel? The first JPanel consists of three JPanels each consisting of a label&textfield and are placed using BoxLayout. The second JPanel is a big blank screen. So, i would like to put the first JPanel at the center of second JPanel(horizontally & vertically). The problem is that i don't have any other component. So,if i try to use FlowLayout, i am able to put it at the center(horizontally, not vertically) only on the top edge. I tried to use BoxLayout. But, i couldn't(as i don't have any other elements). I tried to create some blank elements. But, they are messing up the elements of my JPanel. Any cluesssssssss??????????

Hi Nutan,
if I understand you, then you have a simple validation. Therefore you can use the validation functionality of VC for your components. An alternative could be by writing a new ABAP RFC function module like:
BAPI Input parameters as input and BAPI output parameters as output and an additional return code or string for a message:
IF I_FIELD IS INITIAL.
E_RETURN_CODE = "THE FIELD IS EMPTY."
ELSE.
CALL FUNCTION <YOUR_BAPI>
<BAPI PARAMETERS>
ENDIF.

How to intercept the InCopy 'Save' button action?

Hi,
I have an InCopy plug-in that can successfully intercept ‘Save’ actions from the File->Save menu (using an Action Filter).
But in InCopy there is also a Command Bar that contains a ‘Save’ button. The problem is that I cannot work out how to intercept this button action from within the plug-in code.
I have tried ‘Spy’ and tracing events and so far there does not appear to be any clue to what I should be intercepting to achieve this.
(the button action does not appear to trigger a FileSave action... which is what I was hoping it would do).

Did you disable the button via code?
I know that the class id (boss) for this button is kSaveButtonBoss.

How can i process an action to another page in clientListener ?

i have a table in page a.jspx,i want to navigate to b.jspx when a user double click the table in a.jspx,

I'm not sure I get your question exactly, but I'll give it a go. What I think you mean is in JDev 11g using an ADF Faces RC table, you want the user to have the ability to click a row in a table and navigate to another screen?
The easiest way to do this is to replace one of the table-column-outputexts controls with a commandLink instead, like this:

</af:column>...replacing action="toWherever" with your own navigation rule name.
Note as per the following Re: ER: af:table double click action on the OTN forums, the table control does not provide any double click-navigation ability directly.

SAP Cloud Marketing Lead How to Hide the Standard button action

In Marketing Lead TI screen button action event have 3 options
1) Convert to Sales Lead
2) Convert to Opportunity.
3) Convert to Account or Contact
I want to hide 2 option 1) Convert to Sales Lead and 2) Convert to Account and Contact from the Action button.
I have try to enhance the standard BO as shown below.
and when open the COD_Marketinglead_TI screen then i can not able to see 3 option under Action button.
Please anyone have idea about how to get these 3 options 1) Convert to Sales Lead 2) Convert to Opportunity. 3) Convert to Account or Contact under Action button.

1) AP.CRM.Global:Lead is Marketing Lead BO or Sales Lead BO? if Not Marketing Lead BO then what is the correct path to extend the Marketing Lead?
2) I have extend the AP.CRM.Global:Lead BO when we enhance the screen it give the below options and i have selected the highlighted screen is it correct or not ?
After select the screen and click OK there are 4 screen comes automatically as shown below.

Hi Rabi,
Add Context Attribute "SOURCE_IMG" with type String.
Add Image UI "img_id" in layout and bind its source with this context attribute.
on any method where you want to change/show image dynamically, put this code :
here url can be path to image on local or any url-path for web image.
call method wd_context->set_attribute
       EXPORTING
         name = 'SOURCE_IMG'
         value          = url .

A command button action's is bean method, as follows:

}Therefore, I'd like to be able to find out what the commandButton's ID is, for use in evaluation, etc.
The reason being is that multiple commandButtons are actually being built dynamically as well, and the action may be a URL redirect. Therefore, I'm using the id to lookup what URL to redirect to.

We use f:attribute inside button or link which hold a name/ value and we can read the value from backing bean as :

Hi Ashwin,
To display the values in DropDownbyKey, yuo need to populate the value in the node before the view is rendered to the user. So must be populating the node in the wddoinit method the view controller or the component controller.
Now just for your knowlegde, DropDownbyKey just holds the one value which is selected by the user, and all other values are automatically invalidated by the framework. So invalidate methos is a wrong choice in this case. You can probably use the function module SET_STATIC_ATTRIBUTES_NULL for a element. For further info you can check IF_WD_CONTEXT_ELEMENT in se24 transaction.

Best Practices:: How to generate XML file from a ResultSet

Could someone please suggest the best practices of how to generate an XML file from a resultset? I am developing a web application in Java with Oracle database and one of my tasks is to generate an XML file when the user, for example, click a "download as XML" button on the JSP. The application is basically like an Order with line items. I am using Struts and my first thought has been to have an action class which will extend struts's DownloadAction and through StAX's Iterator API to create an XML file. I intend to have a POJO which will have properties of all columns of my order and line items tables so that for each order I get all line items and:
1. Write order details then
2. Through an iterator write line items of that order to an XML file.
I will greatly appreciate for comments or suggestions on the best way to do this through any pointers on the Web.

Simple button action that goes to a page within the same doc

I can't figure this out. I have a button I want to use that takes a person back to the first, or second page of the same doc. It's a catalog section with a table of contents. I need to make links for the pdf that takes people to certain pages within the same document.
In the Buttons panel, I see how to make the button, but when I assign an action, the only choice that makes sense is "Go To Destination", but I don't get or see any way to choose "page 2" of the document, or another selection method.
I did this before a few years ago on hundreds of pages, and when I open those old documents up to copy/paste the same buttons, they don't even appear to have actions on them anymore, as if it never happened.
So, what's the secret? Certainly there's a way to link to another page in the same ID file, no?

Finally figured it out. I do NOT use the button panel at all. No buttons needed. Just select the grouped object that I want for my button, and hit the "add hyperlink" button in the Hyperlink panel. Then choose "Page" from the menu that opens up and be on my way. What was throwing me for a bad loop, was that I had copied and pasted the button graphic form another document. Well, since the link made previously was broken now, I had the red flag in the Hyperlinks panel...and thus, the "new hyperlink" button was greyed out, sending me in circles. The minute I deleted the old hyperlink it carried over from the old document, the new hyperlink button worked again and all was well.
