How to generate field on UCM check-in form???

Hi,
How to generate field on UCM check-in form???
I mean in check-in new document form i have an option list metadata field (ex: Type)
When i select Person like Type value, it generate me input text depended on it for exemple
- Name (input text)
- Adress (input text)
- phone (input text)
And when i click on check-in button it save the input value on Person table
Please help me

Smartform-How to generate MICR symbol for check form.

I need to build a smartform that generates a remittance and a check. Has anyone done this and if so, can you share the code that generates the MICR or advise me how to get the MICR symbols on the check?

Thank you for the OSS note tip. I see in the note that if you're using MICR_C font for example, then I'm assuming you would code the 'D','A','B', etc. characters in your smartform and somehow our Troy/HP MICR printer would recognize these special codes and interpret them. However, do you have an example of how the actual smartform layout and 'code' might look?

I have the following in application.java.
public void addWaterCraft(WaterCraft newCraft) { waterCraftList.add(newCraft); }
if the user clicks " add watercraft endorsement" , it takes him to another screen where it has various fields like
1. watercraft make
2. watercraft length
3.watercraft type
under watercraft heading.
What i want is the user should be able to enter unlimited watercraft endorsements. That means if the user clicks " add watercraft endorsement" second time, automatically, second row of fields should be generated.What code should i add to

How to generate specific # of items in tabular form from one item

Looking to display or render additional elements to a tabular form based on the number entered in a quantity field. ie. if someone orders 10 items, I would like to have 10 tabular items display on blur, so the operator can enter the data in those fields for the 10 items. Then of course I need all items processed on submit.
Is there a way to do this so the # of line items are rendered after a quantity has been entered to match or is this something that would have to be done with display values and a set number of items already on the page?

Hi Naresh,
You need to use Billing Plans for Service Contracts Scenario to create BRI items.
In the Billing Plan - you can assign whether it is a Periodic Billing or Milestone Billing. Then you need to assign this billing plan to item categories. So based on the period (monthly,quarterly,yearly) - the BRI items will be generated.
So Please try using Billing Plans for your scenario. As you mentioned earlier, you are using ECC for all Billing purposes. So the system will create one Debit Memo Request document per Contract and it will each line item for each of the BRI's in Service Contract. System will not generate one DMR per BRI item.
You can check the BRI items generated at the item level --> Billing Plan Tab page (Assignment Block in Web UI).

How to generate PDF file through reports using forms 6i

Hi all,
I am using oracle 10g with forms 6i and reports 6i.I need to generate pdf file where clicking a button a report should be called and the report should be generated as a .pdf file in the source i have specified(ex. d:\...).Is this popssible with forms?.how can i achieve this.Kindly help me with suitable answers.Thanks :)

regarding report, there is a dedicated report forum. you should post there.
but answer for your question is form is nothing to do with the pdf generation. you can call the report from the as usual.
In the report you should set the properties like
destype to 'file'
desname to 'path with file name'
desformat to 'pdf'

How to copy field groups when editing a form?

I´m setting up a form using Acrobat X Pro. When I copy paste fields, they end up in the same field group. Could anyone tell me how to copy groups?
In my case, I would like to copy the answer options from one question, using them as the answer options for the next question.

Aliging Fields in Custom Check-in Form

I have created profile, it have total 6-fields.
Check-in and everything working fine!!!!

While adding fields I've selected price as below of sale and also Am using arrow marks provide in Configuration manager applet to move up and down of fields,, still its not working.

Did you check the "Is Group" check box in the rule definition? If not, your ordering will not take place.

How to rearrange field positions in the user form

I have added some fields to user creation form, i want to rearrange these fields (like i want to keep some fields which i created in the begining and some in the end ) .is it possible to rearrange the fields.If, can anybody help me by giving detailed steps.

To rearrange your User Defined Fields you just have to edit the "order" column in the UDF Form in Design Console.
If you want to put an User Defined Field between the Default Fields, the process is a bit more complex:
1) Set the field property VISIBLE to false.
2) Open the FormMetadata.xml file (oim_server_home\xellerate\config\FormMetadata.xml).
3) Declare your UDF there, just before the line <Form name="3"> (this is the create user form):
(e.g.)
<Attribute name="-1003" label="Country" displayComponentType="ComboBox" variantType="String" dataLength="1" map="USR_UDF_COUNTRY">
<ValidValues lookupCode="Lookup.Country" selectionColumn="lkv_encoded"/>
</Attribute>
4) Finally add the reference to this field to the <Form name="3"> section, in the desired position:
(e.g.)
<AttributeReference editable="true" optional="true">-1003</AttributeReference>
An important note is that (in my experience) this procedure only works for optional fields. I don't know why it fails when I do it with mandatory fields.

Select Button beside custom metadata field on Check In Form

In Oracle Content Server 10gR3, is there a way to add a "Select" button to User Alias Applet for a new Meta data field on New Check In Form? I tried creating a component but I don't see a select button being shown up. The button does shows up if it's a standard metadata fields but not for the custom one. Here is the component code. You'll need a component. You already mentioned you had a custom metadata field. You will also need to add a counter to the counters table for your component. During a check in you will need to fetch the next value from the counters table, increment the counter and store the new number back in the table. The year portion of the id is easy, get the current year and grab the last two characters. Then, put this all togther to get the data for your metadata field.
The big question now is where in the check in process will you do all this? You will need something called filters probably. Maybe addFiles, maybe validateStandard, there are several that this could work with.

Arranging fields in a table-like form: best-Practice-Solution wanted

Hello Experts,
I´m wondering if there exists a 'best practice' considering how to arrange fields in a table-like form.
I know about cross-tables, but that´s not what we need. Most of the requirements that I have come to known are just that certain fields should be put in a certain order in a table-like outfit.
We have tried to do this using the drawing functions (e.g. putting a square around the fields and certain border styles), but it often happens that the lines overlap or there are breaks between the lines, so that you have to do a lot of manual configuration with the 'table'.
Since this is a requirement I´ve come upon with many reports, I can´t believe that this is supposed to be the best solution for this.
I don´t understand why there isn´t a table-like element in Crystal Reports to use for this. E.g. put a table with x rows and y columns in the header or group head section section and then just put the fields in it.

You can use build in templates available in Template expert.
Click on Report menu-> Template Expert.
Select the desired template. ( Table grid template would suite best here) and click OK.
There is no facility of inserting a table directly as you said. You will have to do it manually by using lines and boxes.

What do you mean by dynamically? When yo set up a 2D bar code field you specify which field name/value pairs you want to include, along with other parameters. But be aware that they won't work with Reader unless you Reader-enable the document with LiveCycle Reader Extensions and include the bar code usage right. It will work with Acrobat Standard/Pro.
