How to get a unique char GUID of length 16 or 20?

Hi experts,
CREATE_GUID returns a unique ID of length 16 in raw format. or a char ID of length 22.
I needd a unique ID in charctaer of length 16 or 20.
Do you have any idea how to reach this?

First of all, a Report is a PDF that you can generate with JavaScript, not a text file. It might be better to create a text data object (doc.createDataObject), which you can then export (doc.exportDataObject).

Can any one tell me how to get the current version guid value from CRMD_ORDERADM_H table for Business Object type 'BUS2000113' .
For example for one contract if we have more than one version then how to get the latest version guid from this table?
If I use FM ' BBP_PD_CTR_GETDETAIL' and in version table how to know which one is the latest/current version?
Need information for versions.

Hello Kevin,
In FM ' BBP_PD_CTR_GETDETAIL' look at version table E_VERSION - Here you can check 'VERSION_' or there is another field 'CREATED_AT' - by using these you will get latest version.

I am a SAP newbie! I want to create a database table with an unique id.
Does something like autoincrement exist?
Another Problem is that i don´t know which database will be used (sapdb, oracle, ....) so i can´t use oracle or sapDB spesific functions.

Nablan's proposition is the best way to provide a standard counter. However, you should be familiar to handle the procedure.
- "Number Range"s are objects for number assignments. To assign numbers, you need a corresponding number range object, a well maintained number range interval, and access to both of these things from within your application program (with the help of special function modules).
- Number range object maintenance is located in the development menu under other tools (transaction SNRO)
- There are standard capabilities that are included in number range feature
- Special functions that are used about number ranges are:
NUMBER_GET_NEXT: This FM is used in order to determine the next number(s) available.
NUMBER_CHECK: For checking external numbers to see if they lie within a number range interval that has been designated for external use.
NUMBER_GET_INFO: To get information about the individual number range intervals of number range objects (interval limits, current status, etc.)

How to get message unique id?

the purpose to do this update is, we want to get a interface depended sequense number, every message should have a unique message id, then use JDBC receiver adapter to insert this message to several DB tables, Legacy application program will use these message id to join these tables to get data.
for example: SAP send sales order data to Legacy system, every Sales Order Create and Modification will trigger a message to Leagcy system, Legacy system use Staging table to receive these messages, one table for SO Header,one for Item,one for schedule line for each item. So when Legacy program cannot use SO number as key to join these table, because every change will create a message. That's why we want to maintain a unique message id for every message.
Do you have any other solution to realize this requirement? thank you very much for your help.

How to Get the Unique Key results from OWB Tables after Profile

Hi,
We are using OWB 10gR2(Paris) Beta Version.
In this version the new feature is introduced is Data Profiling.
We are using this feature to analylize the data in terms of stanadards.
We have done profiling for our tables and we are able to see the results for each table in OWB Profile Results Canvas. In this window one Unique Key tab is there to see the Unique results.
Now my question is where these results will be stored in standard tables of OWB. I want to know those exact standard tables to extract thoes Unique results in to my reports.
After profiling we are generating HTML-DB reports to view all these profile results. But we are not able to find the Uique Key tables where these results are stored.
So pls can anybody provide help on this to get these tables...

I am not sure about the version. But you can follow the steps below.
1. Create a Web Dynpro Poroject (Ideally create a DC , but if you don't have NWDI setup a project will do).
2. Add reference to com.sap.security.api.jar and sap.comcafeugpapi.jar
3. Under WebDynpro References -> Library References add sap.com/cafeugp~api
4. Put following code in wdDoInit()

How to have a unique requestId for a Page for multiple users

Can someone please tell me how to get a unique RequestId whenever a page is visited. I need to have a unique RequestId generated for each user if they are on some specific
page. Whenever a users refreshes a page or come to the page by clicking back button want to have a unique requestId always.
Can I use sessionRequestId or something for HttpServletRequestObject that always gives me a unique Id.

Most simplistic approach would be to have a static/singleton counter. It wouldn't work perfectly in high volume sites, but should work well enough for smaller ones. Including a timestamp in the key makes it fairly unique.
This would handle both initial requests and refreshes of the page.
There is nothing you can do about users hitting the back button. If the page gets served from the client cache, the server knows nothing about it, and can not issue a unique id.
Why the requirement? What are you trying to accomplish by doing this?

How can I get an unsigned char string with nulls from a dll into LabVIEW 6i?

The following ethernet packet data is contained in an unsigned char * string returned from my dll (it's formatted on printing):

Which is the data before the first NULL or 00 information. I found a "Remove Unprintable Chars.vi" but it
just sees more data before the above string, nothing after, as seen here: 5C30 31E0 BB.
Anybody have any suggestions for how to get the rest of the string? Is there something I can do to further reformat my dll? The dll I'm using is already a wrapper around another dll so I have some flexibility, but the bottom line is, the data I want is in the format of an unsigned char *.

The first thing I notice is that the first 4 bytes are chopped off, and after about 50 bytes, the data is corrupted until the sequence starts to repeat, but this time it starts with the missing 4 bytes and still corrupts after about 55 bytes.
I am expecting the data in LabVIEW to look very similar to the C data because the network packets I am grabbing are pretty consistant, only a couple bytes will vary between them, not the number I am seeing in LabVIEW.
Another side effect I'm seeing is that I can only run my labVIEW code once, if I try running it again it crashes with failures such as:
memory could not be "read"
For reference, I am opening and closing the network adapter inside the read function of my dll, but the pointer seems like it should be intact...

How to get unique ID'd count in report

I have following data in ods.
ID Degree Field Counter
12    Grad       Computers   1
12    PG          Computers      1
13   Grad       Electronics    1
14   PG       Computers      1
I need a report to display the number of ID's with computers field.
In the above example Id 12 has two records so the count is coming as 3.(12 ID two times and 14 ID).
But I have to display only unique ID's.I have to have count 2(12ID and 14 ID).
How can I achieve unique ID's count in report.

Hi,
Create a RKF and restrict it with Field "Computer" and key figure as count, after that in properties of RKF you can set "Calculate result as" option to "Count of all values".
And if you want to get it across ID's then create an exception aggregation on this RKF and set reference characteristics as "ID".

You may wanna explore the two API's (wwsbr_all_folders and wwsbr_all_items) and make a bridge to get the name of the portlets that appear on the page.
something of the following nature should be enough to take you where you want to go. here c.name is the GUID of the item you are looking for.
SELECT DISTINCT c.display_name,c.name,c.updatedate
FROM portal.wwsbr_all_folders a, portal.wwsbr_all_items c
WHERE a.LANGUAGE = 'us'
AND a.id = c.folder_id
AND a.caid = c.caid
AND c.itemtype = 'baseportletinstance'
AND a.Name LIKE 'MY_PAGE_NAME'
order by 3 desc
this will work in the portal but not in the sqlplus or any querying tool. for that purpose, it will work once you establish the context of user.
