How to get Adobe Flash Player to work?

After downloading Adobe Flash Player ver 10 and installing [3 times] it I still can't get FF to play vids at web locations.
I tried all I know but I need some steps to get this working.

The link I provided on Jan 10th should work to download the correct Plugin version of Flash. Adobe usually supplies the correct version of Flash for the browser being used at the Adobe website; how you got the Plugin version when using IE is beyond me.

Hello, I have a new Mac Book Pro and I am unable to get Adobe flash player to work. When I install it it says it has been installed. But where do I see the application that it is there?

    Check your system preferences.
My copy of flash installed as a preferance pane.
If its there you will be able to check the current installed version and set preferences for flash and updating.

  • How come it o hard to get adobe flash player to work on window 8.1?

I have trouble with the Pleae install adobe flash player to view this vidio.  I get it to work for a while then it not working & i have to fiddle with it again?

The problem ISN'T Flash Player, and it ISN'T Windows 8.1 (not completely anyway).
It's that abomination they call a browser. Internet Exploder 11, which installs by default if you upgrade from Windows 8, and is forced down your throat if you're gullible enough to buy a new PC with 8.1 on it.
Sites and pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon. They refuse to admit their garbage is garbage.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • How do you get Adobe Flash Player to work in Windows 8.1 Pro?

Previous suggestions have not worked to allow use of Adobe Flash Player with Windows 8.1 Pro.

    That would be 11.
There are Windows 8 troubleshooting tips here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-issues-windows-8.html
But the problem is more likely IE11 itself. Aside from Vista, it's just about the worst garbage Microsoft has unleashed on the computing public, ever. They intentionally altered the "User-Agent Strings", which websites use to identify the browser and provide the proper content for it. Some sites ID it as a Gecko browser (Firefox), while others ID it as a Webkit browser (Opera or Safari). Problem is... when the site ID's it as either of those, the browser specific content supplied REQUIRES the correct browser engine... which IE doesn't have and never will. So, it then becomes an "unrecognized browser". The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon. In fact, since they though this was a great idea, I seriously doubt they'll change it at all.

  • What can I do to get Adobe Flash Player to work?

Adobe Flash Player repeatedly crashes. I've tried installing it multiple times, both from Firefox and directly from Adobe with no success. I get the message also that Shock Player has crashed.
Any suggestions as to how to fix this, please?
    Thank you,

Your More System Details doesn't show "Shockwave Flash" which could indicate that it is set to "Never Activate" (such plugins are invisible to websites).
This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with the Flash Player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
    (1) If you have any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.
    (2) Disable hardware acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
That takes effect the next time you exit and start Firefox up again.
    (B) In Flash, right-click the media and choose Settings, then the first mini-tab and uncheck the box to use hardware acceleration. More information in this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista and higher)
The protected mode feature of the Flash player plugin has security benefits, but seems to have compatibility issues on some systems. You can disable it by creating or editing a settings file. The following pages/posts provide different approaches for that:
    * Adobe support article under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]
    * Manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/968190?page=5#answer-509209
    * Batch file to automate the manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/982093#answer-518078 (alternate version of Carm's batch file with a few changes by me: [https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=f7d304d92388737d&id=F7D304D92388737D!336&ithint=file,.bat&authkey=!AP2FXW2Y_3BXZyo])
Flash needs to completely unload from memory (exiting and starting Firefox up again might help) before this takes effect.
    Any improvement?

  • How to get Adobe Flash 10 to work on IE8 on Windows Vista?

I've tried downloading the newest Adobe Flash Player 10 on IE8
on my Windows Vista and it's not working.  It downloads but when I go back to hulu.com it says I still have to download the latest version. I've tried unistalling and installing it (several times)... I've made sure that Shockwave is enabled under Internet settings... I've also tried unistalling IE8 and reinstalling without the updates... and still nothing.  I even tried installing Flash 10 on IE7, still nothing worked.
I have Windows Vista 32 bit and not terribly computer savvy.  Hulu works fine when I use Firefox, but it's not working on IE8. I need it to work on IE8 in order to stream video from hulu on our Wii through PlayOn TV.  Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • How to get Adobe Flash Player to Function in Explorer 11

I am using Windows 7 64 Bit.  Have Version 16.0.0.305 of Flash Player.  Use Internet Explorer 11.  Have enabled Shockwave Flash Object.  Have cleared Active X Filtering.  Still cannot view all videos on things such as U-Tube or anything on Weather Channel (http://www.weather.com/weather/today/l/Queensbury+NY+12804).  What is wrong?  Thank you.

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11
If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.

  • How To Get Adobe Flash Movie To Work On Another Compter?

    Somebody please please help me.
I use a English language Windows operating system, forgive me.
I made an interactive book in Adobe Indesign CS 5. The content, which are all graphics, was all originally created in Adobe Illustrator CS5, but I exported it into SWF.
The end result was that I have this interactive book, a mirror of the printed version – which itself is formatted in Adobe Indesign CS5 – that I exported to Flash Movies.
On my Computer I can operate the interactive book and all is fine, I can see the interactive version of the printed book I have Adobe Suite CS 5.
However when I download the end result to a CD Rom and try to play it on another computer, which has no Adobe software, it doesn’t work. My questions are the following
What software does another computer that is working on Microsoft Vista have to download so they can see the developed interactive book?
What software does another computer that is working on Apple OS have to download so they can see the developed interactive book?
Will someone who has a non-English OS, for example Japanese or Chinese, need to download anything else to see the developed interactive book?
    Thanks In Advance
    I'm Going Mad.
    Gary.

Thanks Ned for the quick reply.
    Forgive me my ignorance but
    1. Can they download the Flashpayer without an internet connection - a stand alone version of both Microsoft and Apple - and where can I get such a stand alone version so that I could include it with the CD Rom package of the interactive version of the book?
    2. If their computer is operating on a Japanese or Chinese version of Microsot/Apple, do they need a a specific language version of a Flash player download that would enable them to see the interactive book that I created in an English version of Adobe Indesign CS5 and exported to an English version of Adobe SWF movie?
Thanks again for the quick reply.
    Gary.

    Thanks again for your reply.
Eventually what I've done is convert the swf files to exe files and they work on all PCs, no matter whether the OS is English, Japanese or Chinese.
The way I did it was from
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/212109
'to convert a swf to exe just open the swf alone then go to file > create projector this will create a standalone exe file that will run on virtualy any PC computer with or without the flash player '
The above is for anyone else who has to make a digital interactive book.
Thanks though ʇɐb ɹəuəllıʍ and you have a nice weekend.

  • I can't get Adobe Flash Player to work. I download it, install it according to the directions given and... nothing. Any advice?

Is there something I'm missing with updating Adobe Flash?

Use the uninstaller on Adobe's website first for Flash Player. Be sure when you reinstall that you pick the correct version.

Hi, Check in the plugins for Shockwave Flash plugin and make sure it's Enabled. Also any app like Click-to-Flash or other like apps will keep Flash content blocked, so check that also.
