How to get Component Controller getter function

I have made a mehtod in a component controller (I am trying to make a web dynpro which uses a webservice). Now I want to use it from my View but I cannot find out how.
According to some examples I've seen there should be a function like wdThis.wdGet<comp> in the View, but I don't have such a function....:-(

I think that you must not have made the Delta link of the component Controller with the View. if you would have made the link then definately you would have got the access from the View to teh controller.
Just go to the Component -> (Select you component)-> (Right Click) -> Open data Moduler.
A Data Moduler Screen will come. Select the Create Delta Link. And and drag the link from the view to the component controller.
This should definately solve your problem.

Hi,
Want you need to do is go to transaction SHDB and record the bdc for the transaction you want, during transaction press the buttons for which you want the bdc code. And after this go press the back button and check the list of all the things recorded in Recorder.

How to get Functional Location of a Workcenter?

Hi there,
I am looking for a function that brings me the functional location to a given workcenter of an operation (production order).
In our case this is a one-to-one relation. In transaction IL03 I can see the workcenter on Location-tab. But how to get this functional location only with a work center that I know?
How is this possible?

How to get Function Area (or Cost Center) from COSP ?

Dear experts,
I am new to FICO and here is one question need your help:
Now I have table COSP, can anybody let me know how can I get Function Area through joining some other table?
Or how to get the cost center from COSP, since I know then I can go to CSKS to find the function area.

Actually this is a requirement for our BW system. I checked all the records to find their OBJNR start with "OR", but we need to get the function area information. Do you know how can I get that?
The link below listed all the fields we have on BW side, actually it has function area, but it returns blank, we tried to apply one OSS note in the source ECC system, but still no value returned for this field. So we have to find another way to get the function area.

How I can call controller's functions from another component?

I make a few web Dynpro components, for example first for user-data processing, second - for project-data processing. In the controller of 1-st controller there is a function getUserById(). In the controller of 2-nd component I need such function. And I don't want to make a dublicate for this function in the controller of 2-nd component. Is there a way to call function in one component from another?

 Yes, you can reuse the component. There are two basic types of component communication. 1. Intra Component communication 2.Inter Component communication.
1. Intra Component communication: The two components must be in same DC(project).
Procedure:Say there are C1,C2 components in a DC.
Open C2, Open interface controller, create a similar (_parameters and return type_) method to the method C2. Call C2's method in this Interface method.
Open C1, select and right click Used Web Dynpro Components -> Add Used Component. In the wizard, you can browse and select the C2 component,and enter a name to the usage. Then the usage of the interface must be added in properties required controllers of a view/component controller.
Now we can use the method that is available in the C1 interface controller.
You must define method before declaring usage
2.Inter Component communication: The two components are in different DCs
Open DC metadata of C2. Right click on Public part-> create new Public Part.Enter name-> Next -> Select entity type as Web Dynpro Component in wizard,in Select Entities select the component ,Finish.
A structure for public part is created.
Open C1, Open DC metadata of C1. Right click on Used Dcs-> AddUsed DC. Browse to C2's public part.
Select Finish.

I just clicked the link to see if the site came up, which it clearly did. As far as Google Translate you can try to use it once you get the site to read. Because I do not read Chinese I have no idea if the site has a translator built in. You will need to contact the webmaster of the site to find that out or work with a translator.
I think before you worry about translating it you need to get access to the site first. Then you can work on the translation.

CallableStatement, how to get function result ?

I know that this issue more relevant to JDBC, but it seems that their forum is more "sleepy" than that one therefor i trying my luck here with you...
I've a pl/sql function which get 2 int arguments, and return float result
I use CallableStatement in order to execute pl/sql function.
with CallableStatement.setInt i transfer argument to the function,
but i dont know how to "catch" function result (as i said earlier, function results is float)
any help here...

VPN to office PC - How to get function keys to work???

I have an application on my PC at work that requires the use of function keys to navigate around (F1 thru F12). How can I make my function keys on my iMac to perform appropriate functions when I VPN to my PC at work? E.g. F10 in that app would be "submit" but when I do that it turns the speaker on my iMac off. Basically it doesn't send function keys commands over VPN. Using the PC's on-screen keyboard works but it's annoying - like using a stylus pen to type on some old palm pilot screen without real keyboard. Any input would be appreciated.

I received an answer off line... go to Keyboard preference and select using F1,F2,F3 Keys as standard function keys.

Hi,
I want to know how WDDoInit in component controller differs from the same in view controller.
How the lifecycle flows in both controllers?
Eg. if i create a method intialize() in both component & view controllers and if i called initalize method in view, which one will be called?
Need to know how the flow works.

The order of execution of standard hook methods when a WDJ application is called the first time is as follows:
1. Component Controller DoInIt()
2. View Controller DoInIt()
3. Interface Window Controller
4. Component Controller DoBeforeNavigation()
5. Component Controller DoModify()
6. Component Controller DoPostProcessing()
After this, if you navigate to some other view, then the order of execution of methods of that New view will be:
1. Component Controller DoBeforeNavigation()
2. New View DoInIt()
3. New View onPlugfromFirstView
4. Component Controller DoModify()
5. Component Controller DoPostProcessing()
Then, if you again navigate back to the first view, then the order of execution of methods is:
1. Component Controller DoBeforeNavigation()
2. New View onPlugfromNewView
3. Component Controller DoModify()

Its very easy u need not to do any extra coding to share data between window context and component controller context.
Step 1) u create the node in component controller and map this node with window context.
step 2) Now in any method of window u write the set_attribute or bind_table statement ,your data will automatically transported to component controller .
So u dont need to do any extra coding for this.

difference between view context and global context is we can use the same component controller for all the views in the same application.but when when we create node in view context then it will be available for that view only not for any other view...so if we want to use the same node for all the views we need to create that view in the component controller.so it will become global for that application.
for using global node you need to map that context in view controller.for that you need to go to that view then click on context tab and drag and drop node from component controller.so it will be available for that view.i hope it helps you.

From 'GS_CM' I have to get a value of field attribute-STATUS_CURRENT
From BT115QH_SLSQ/Details
Context Node = BTSTATUSH
Attributes = STATUS_CURRENT
In order to check and enable some other functions.
I know how to do it when I'm in the BT115QH_SLSQ/Details
lr_status ?= typed_context->btstatush->collection_wrapper->get_current( ).
lv_statush = lr_status->get_property_as_string( iv_attr_name = 'STATUS_CURRENT' ).
But, in my Componenet GS_CM/DocList the field "BTSTATUSH->COLLECTION_WRAPPER->GET_CURRENT" is unknown. It is not contained in one of the specified tables nor is it defined .
would be very grateful if you could help to solve this issue.
