How to get cwd of the current process in the kernel in Solaris 8

Hi, everyone
Does any one know how to get the path name of the current working directory of the current process in the kernel in Solaris8 ?
I searched the forum and got some related links, but none of them gives a clear solution.
Sample code can help a lot!
Thank you!

Thanks for the reply.
What the user structure contains is the vnode pointer of the cwd, but I want go get the pathname of it, like /export/home/abc/.First, all you can get is a path name - there can be more than one. And then there's the problem of determining the path name you want if the process is running under chroot.
Assuming you don't have to deal with those, there's this thread:
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5084620&messageID=9298124
Of course, that thread doesn't say how to do that. But it appears to be part of Solaris 10.
I once had to solve this same problem for a Linux kernel module I wrote, so I know it's theoretically possible. But I also know it's not as simple as it seems it should be, and any results you do get are not guaranteed to be unique and, IIRC, not even correct in some cases.
Sorry I can't be more specific than that right now.

  • How can I get the current user and the current page?

    Hi everyone
    Question..
It is possible to get the current user (from the user's database on apex) and the current page? (I mean, if I'm in page 4 be able to query a variable / function or something which could give me the current displayed page)
Thank you very much... I'd been researching without success :-S so I'll appreciate your help
    Regards,
    Fury

    Fury,
If the user has authenticated, :APP_USER is the name that was used. The current page id is in :APP_PAGE_ID.
Although I showed bind variable notation for those, & substitution format and v() notation are also available for referencing developer-defined items or built-in names. See the User's Guide for more details.

  • How to get the name of the city and state of the current location of the user

    Hi all
i need to get the name of the city and state (full address) of the current location of the user.
    need help.

The best way to do this is to put the monitor name as a property bag in the script and pass that to your event details. Otherwise, we're looking at querying the database each time the monitor generates an event, and this is overhead that is really not
necessary. The other option, which is just even worse in terms of performance, is to use powershell to query the SDK for the monitor name. Both of these options are not going to be a good solution, because now you need to implement action accounts that can
either query the database or the sdk.

  • Get the current position within the PBEL Prozess

    Hi,
In the BPELConsole I can see the the flow of every PBEL process
instance and thus I see the current position within the process.
How would you get the current position programatically, via SOAP e.g.?
    Kind regards,

    Hi,
there is a JAVA API provided by Oracle
    http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28986/toc.htm
If you really need SOAP, you can build your own Java webservices with this API

  • How to get physical number of selected row on the screen.

    Hi,
We have block defined with Numbers of Records Displayed = 3. In the same time the data set contains 10 records. We would like to know how to get a number of row selected on the screen. i.e. in our case that the number will be always between 1 and 3 independent of the current row position in the data set.
    Best regards,
    Constantin.

You can calculate that number by subtracting :SYSTEM.CURSOR_RECORD and GET_BLOCK_PROPERTY('BLOCK', TOPMOST_RECORD)

A while ago i went to sync music onto my Ipod Touch. Not only did the computer erase my music i had no idea how to get it back I contacted Apple on the phone but the name was american and i found it really hard to understand him. How do i get it back! i bought most of my music on itunes but i just dont have any idea where to go and whjat to do can any help me??
    Respond please!

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then see if you can redownload your past music purchases (those that are still in the store) via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you are not in a country where music can currently be re-downloaded, then have you not got it on your computer and/or on a backup ? If not then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

I didn't try this before, but if you use systemd, you may want to try systemd.confirm_spawn to invoke interactive booting process, so you can start the services one by one manually therefore locate the one throwing out error message.
It is explained in the systemd manual:

  • How to interpret the current day of the month

I am a rookie in java and am trying to play with the Calendar class.
The DATE static field of this class says it returns "Field number for get and set indicating the day of the month."
So, Calendar.DATE has to return the current day of the month.
Today is 7th of january. So, it should return 7. But, I am getting a value of 5.
I am very much confused. I fell that my interpretation os wrong.
    Please help.............
    Thanks in advance.

You must NOT confuse the value of the constant Calendar.DATE (5) and how you can use that constant to retrieve the current day of the month.
Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance(); // Gets the current date
int dayOfMonth = cal.get(Calendar.DATE); // Gets he current day of the month from the current date
// (Using the Calendar.DATE constant as method parameter).
            System.out.println("Calendar.DATE = " + Calendar.DATE); // Prints the constant
            System.out.println("dayOfMonth = " + dayOfMonth); // Prints the current day of month

  • Finding The Current Process ID

Is there a way to get the current process ID from a Java application running on Winows XP?
Better yet, is there a way to specify the process ID of your application from the command line?
I'm guessing the answer to the second question is no, but that there is an answer to the first question.
    TIA,
    John

The argument that getpid() is not available because it is not platform independent is not really very convincing.
It's quite likely that there are a number of platforms that don't have networking and therefore a large chunk of Java could be considered platform dependent. Of again it's likely that some platforms don't distinguish between output and error output streams so System.err and System.out would also seem platform dependent.
It's fairly clear that most platforms that we care to program for do have the concept of a process and most will also support the concept of a process identifier therefore in most cases getpid() would seem a reasonable api to support - for those platforms that do not support the concept of a process id we coud throw an exception or return null or whatever.
The process id would be useful for generating UUID's but another case where I've found if useful is passing it to databases as a connection parameter so that if/when a particular db connection is misbehaving I can trivially lookup the PID associated with that connection on the db and then go to the OS and find out which process instance owns that connection and debug/restart or whatever.
