How to get protected method ?

I thought i can get protected method of my class when calling a Class.getMethod(String, Class []) in another class which inside the same package. However, it seem that i can't do that because it throw me a NoSuchMethodException when the method was protected. I thought all classes in same package can access the protected methods or fields of each other ??? Why ?
So, how i'm able to get the protected method in runtime ? (Hopefully no need to do anything with the SecurityManager)

How to call a method of another class ?

Hello,
I�d like to know how to call a method of another class. I have to classes (class 1 and class 2), class 1 instantiates an object of class 2 and executes the rest of the method. Later, class 1 has to call a method of class 2, sending a message to do something in the object... Does anybody know how to do that ? Do I have to use interface ? Could you please help me ?

How to execute the method of a class loaded

I have to execute the method of com.common.helper.EANCRatingHelper" + version
version may be 1,2, etc
if version = 1 the class is com.common.helper.EANCRatingHelper1;
Iam able to load the class using following code.But iam unable to execute the method of the above class
Can anybody help me how to execute the method of the class loaded.

The "helper" object I created above is (though it is only of type "Object" right now) -- you have to cast it to the desired class, and then call the method on that.
Hopefully EANCRatingHelper1 and 2 share a common interface, or you're up the creek.

How to access a method of a class which just known class name as String

Now I have several class and I want to access the method of these class. But what I have is a String which contain the complete name of the class.
For example, I have two class name class1and class2, there are method getValue in each class. Now I have a String containing one class name of these two class. I want to access the method and get the return value.
How could I do?
With Class.forName().newInstance I can get a Object. but it doesn't help to access and execute the method I want .

Or, if Class1 and Class2 have a common parent class or interface (and they should if you're handling them the same way in the same codepath)...Class c = Class.forName("ClassName");

i have a method of a class in the form of a string and i have the object of the class to which it belongs .what i want to do is call this method.

You can't, as M. Jabr already said. In a managed bean you can iterate the selected row, but not in the application module. You can collect the selected row keys in a managed bean and send the collection to the application module.

I am developing a web application which uses weblogic portlets and struts. This is what I have for now in the .portlet file.

Try this by following this you can get the custom controller instacne in the view context nodes, for your requirement you can keep the view implementation class instance instead of cuco..
To get the custom controller instance in Context node getter/setter method:
1. Declare Cuco instance reference variable in ctxt class..
2. Set this cuco ref. in the Create context node method of ctxt class:

catch cx_root.

you can avoid this step as this is not needed in case of view isntance
3. Assign this instance to the respective context node Create method using:
BTStatusH->gr_cuco ?= gr_cucoadminh. " here assign the view implementation ref. " me" instead of gr_cucoadminh
Here gr_cuco is the ref. variable of custom controller in the respective context node for eg. BtstatusH
Sample implementation of this can be found in
ICCMP_BTSHEAD/BTSHeader ->context node BTACTIVITYH-> attr ->GR_CUCO(instance of cuco)

How to get OIDs of indexes for class-map ?

I have policy-map configured on cisco router with some class-maps inside. I need to draw a graph traffic passing through these classes. To make a graphs I use Cacti which use SNMP query to draw the graphs (object name cbQosObjectsIndex).
How to get OIDs of class-map indexes ?
I tried to do this by following query:
#snmpwalk -c community_string -v 2c 192.168.0.252 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.166.1.5.1.1.1
but the answer was:

You can set the maximum number of characters in a textedit control in the CREATE OBJECT statement itself.
Just see the first parameter in the method . I mean MAX_NUMBER_CHARS. Just set that value to the required number.

My problem is how to get universe metadata ? i listed the universe name by quering the CI_APPOBJECTS table. i couldn't get other information (Class and objects in the universe ).. I need the advice or idea or code to complete work... Please help to resolve my problem..

There's three ways to get the Universe Class/Object info:
1. Use the Universe Designer SDK. This is COM-based, so you'd write VBScript, VBA or VB6 code.
2. Use the ReportEngine Java (REBean) API. Programmatically create a Web Intelligence document, specify the Universe as DataProvider, then get the DataSource, which holds the Classes/Objects hierarchy.
3. Use the QueryService Service in the BusinessObjects Web Service (via Java or .NET Consumer API) to do something similar to 2.
