How to get Items per Set by CAML Query?

Hi,
I have these data
ItemName
Item1
Item2
Item3
Item4
Item5
Item7
Item8
I want to query them per set, how can I achieve this output using CAML
Query1:
 Item1
 Item2
 Item3
Query2:
 Item4
 Item5
 Item6
Thanks

Hello,
You can't do it easily. But you may add one more column and give some unique value as per set so you can query the list. However you can use <rowlimit> to return only 3 items but you have to add extra code (i.e. cache set in some table).

  • How to get items from a list that has more items than the List View Threshold?

    I'm using SharePoints object model and I'm trying to get all or a subset of the items from a SharePoint 2010 list which has many more items than the list view threshold (20,000+) using the SPList.GetItems() method. However no matter what I do the SPQueryThrottledException
    always seems to be thrown and I get no items back.
    I'm sorting based on the ID field, so it is indexed. I've tried setting the RowLimit property on the SPQuery object(had no effect). I tried specifying the RowLimit in the SPQuerys ViewXml property, but that still throws a throttle exception. I tried using the
    ContentIterator as defined here:http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.office.server.utilities.contentiterator.aspx,
    but that still throws the query throttle exception. I tried specifying the RowLimit parameter in the ProcessListItems functions, as suggested by the first comment here:http://tomvangaever.be/blogv2/2011/05/contentiterator-very-large-lists/,
    but it still throws the query throttle exception. I tried using GetDataTable instead, still throws query throttle exception. I can't run this as admin, I can't raise the threshold limit, I can't raise the threshold limit temporarily, I can't override the lists
    throttling(i.e. list.EnableThrottling = false;), and I can't override the SPQuery(query.QueryThrottleMode = SPQueryThrottleOption.Override;). Does anyone know how to get items back in this situation or has anyone succesfully beaten the query throttle exception?
    Thanks.
    My Query:
    <OrderBy>
        <FieldRef Name='ID' Ascending='TRUE' />
    </OrderBy>
    <Where>
        <Geq><FieldRef Name='ID' /><Value Type='Counter'>0</Value></Geq>
    </Where>
    My ViewXml:
    <View>
        <Query>
            <OrderBy><FieldRef Name='ID' Ascending='TRUE' /></OrderBy>
            <Where>
                <Geq><FieldRef Name='ID' /><Value Type='Counter'>0</Value></Geq>
            </Where>
        </Query>
        <RowLimit>2000</RowLimit>
    </View>
    Thanks again.

    I was using code below to work with 700000+ items in the list.
    SPWeb oWebsite = SPContext.Current.Web;
    SPList oList = oWebsite.Lists["MyList"];
    SPQuery oQuery = new SPQuery();
    oQuery.RowLimit = 2000;
    int intIndex = 1;
    do
    SPListItemCollection collListItems = oList.GetItems(oQuery);
    foreach (SPListItem oListItem in collListItems)
    //do something oListItem["Title"].ToString()
    oQuery.ListItemCollectionPosition = collListItems.ListItemCollectionPosition;
    intIndex++;
    } while (oQuery.ListItemCollectionPosition != null);
    Oleg
    Hi Oleg, thanks for replying.
    The problem with the code you have is that your SPQuery object's QueryThrottleMode is set to default. If you run that code as a local admin no throttle limits will be applied, but if you're not admin you will still have the normal throttle limits. In my
    situation it won't be run as a local admin so the code you provided won't work. You can simulate my dilemma by setting the QuerryThrottleMode  property to SPQueryThrottleOption.Strict, and I'm sure you'll start to get SPQueryThrottledException's
    as well on that list of 700000+ items.
    Thanks anyway though

  • How to get item field values for old versions?

    I need to be able to query old field values from previous versions of items in a SharePoint list. I can't execute code on the server (it needs to work with SharePoint Online/O365 for a start).
    So far the ONLY API I've that lets me do this is the lists.asmx GetVersionCollection SOAP call.
    This lets me specify a single field name and returns an XML structure with the values for the various versions, along with the modification time and who made the change - but NO reliable way of actually identifying *which* version (i.e. an ID or label). That
    is, if I know I need to fetch the Title value from version 512 ("1.0") of item 1 in list "Documents", I don't see how to reliably parse the results to determine which entry is version 512. While they may be returned in order, in many cases
    the entries are actually missing when there was no field value present (or perhaps when the field hadn't been created yet). I've tried comparing the Modified date to the Created date of the corresponding FileVersion item (which I can get via CSOM or REST),
    and while it works some of the time, it's not reliable. I've also looked at the output from the lists.asmx GetVersion API but I don't see how that's useful either, as the Created property for all versions always seems to be just the date the file was originally
    created.
    It does seem odd to me that there's not a neat way of doing this - if I need to return information for several fields but just for a single version, I have to make a whole lot of requests that return far more info than I need, and then I need to figure out
    how to parse the returned text in the case of, say, multiple-value taxonomy fields etc.
    Anyone tried doing anything similar here?
    Thanks
    Dylan

  • Need FM/BAPI to get how many line items per given FI document...

    Hello Experts,
    IS there an available FM or BAPI to get how many line items there is for a given
    FI document? We are avoinding BSEG because of the performance.
    Hope you can help me guys. Thank you and take care!

    Hi,
    Not sure if there is a specific FMs or BAPIs whose specific purpose is to just count FI document lines. But you can use a number of FMs to read an FI document.
    i.e. FI_DOCUMENT_READ - pass the document keys (BUKRS, BELNR, GJAHR) and retrieve the T_BSEG table to get the document lines. Then you can just use DESCRIBE statement to get the number of lines in T_BSEG.
    Also, based on experience, I never had any problems with BSEG as long as I am providing the complete keys for an FI document (BUKRS, BELNR, GJAHR). But if you are trying to avoid BSEG, you can use the secondary index tables like BSIS , BSAS, BSAD, BSID, BSIK, BSAK to improve performance.

    You can get the price in the warehouse as following if you don't want to use a recordset:
            Dim oItem As SAPbobsCOM.Items
            Dim dPrice As Double
            Dim i As Integer
            oItem = oCompany.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oItems)
            oItem.GetByKey("MyItem")
            For i = 0 To oItem.WhsInfo.Count - 1
                oItem.WhsInfo.SetCurrentLine(i)
                If oItem.WhsInfo.WarehouseCode = "TheWarehouseIWant" Then

  • How to get item from dictionary

    I created dictionary and create two variables in SharePoint Designer 2013 workflow:
    Name: Accept; Type: string; Value:  application/json;odata=verbose;
    Name: Content-Type ; Type: string; Value: application/json;odata=verbose;
    Output variable: JSonRequestHeader.
    I called HTTP web service:
    https://xxxxxx/_api/web/Lists/getbytitle('WorkflowTaskList')/items?$select=ID
    then Get d/results from Variable:JSonResponse(Output to Variable: allItemsData)
    then Count Items in Variable: allItemsData(Output to Variable: allItemsIDData)
    These Actions worked well.
    How I can get item’s ID number from dictionary?
    Get d/results[%Variable: index%] or Get d/results([%Variable: index%]) where

  • How to get the result set in batches

    I have a query which results into large data. This data i want to display in a group of 20. After every 20 records i want to add header and footer to it.
    Is it possible to get the result set data into batch of 20 ? means can i specify start and end index of query ?
    regards
    Manisha

    What I am saying is that a big query with lots of
    joins will probably be slow, and as such would be a
    ripe candidate for batching the responses, if it were
    not possible to speed/optimize it. Batching is nice
    to look at for the user, but is not a solution for
    performance problems. In essence it is irrelevant
    that it adds a little performance deficit, as it
    appears to be running a lot quicker, and gives more
    feedback to the user.Then let me say it again....
    - "Join" is a term that applies to a method of doing queries in the database....
    - Query 1 which uses a join and returns 15 rows
    - Query 2 which does not use a join and returns 1500 rows.
    Given the above then Query 1 will provide better overall performance for the system than Query 2 in a properly configured database.
    If it doesn't then the database is not set up correctly.
    And again this will be irrespective of whether the query is scrollable or not.

  • How to get KM Layout Set Description

    Hello,
    Can we get the Layout Set description through KM API?
    We are able to get all existing Layout sets using String[] ids=layoutService.getAllLayoutSetIDs(); but we want descriptions also for these Layout Sets
    Please let me know if anybody have an idea
    Thanks

    Hi Bobby,
    For 7.3, it is
    IConfigManager configManager = ConfigHelper.getConfigManager(request.getUser());
    IConfigPlugin catPlugin = configManager.getConfigPlugin("/cm/ui/settings");
    IMutableConfigurable myConfigurable = catPlugin.getConfigurable("AdminExplorer");
    String desc = myConfigurable.getPropertyValue("description");
    For this code, the only SharingReference needed is "SAPJ2EE::service:sap.com/tckmconfig~srv".
    For 7.0, things are slightly different, but if you search for "IConfigPlugin" on SDN, you will get the stuff needed immediately.
    Hope it helps

  • Can anyone tell me how to get music cataloging set up properly?

    I have a lot of music on my ipod touch 5th generation but I have to look under composers, compilations, artist, album or songs in order to find different tracks can anyone tell me how to get it setup to see all artists listed under that category instead of having to jump all over to find music by the same artist?

    We have three ipods. One is my son's, one is my daughters and the other belongs to my husband. My husband put over 300 CD's on the ipod. He took it all off the Library and moved it directly to his Ipod as the computer did not have enough memory to keep it on ipod library. Now, the kids want his CD's on their ipods and we can not figure out how to move the CD's to it.
    Can you help?

  • How to get rid of ROWID in Join query -- ORA-00918: column ambiguously defined

    Hi, All
    the source of my data block is from two tables Emp and Title. My select statements is:
    select a.name, b.title, b.start_date, b.end_date from Emp a, Title b where a.id = b.emp_id
    But at run time, I got "ORA-00918: column ambiguously defined"
    the wrapped statement becomes:
    SELECT ROWID,a.name, b.title, b.start_date, b.end_date from Emp a, Title b where a.id = b.emp_id
    I run the query in SQL*PLUS, found out it was ROWID caused problem.
    Can anybody tell me how to get rid of ROWID? or I missed something in datablock defination?
    Thanks in adance.
    Deborah

    I guess you are using oracle 7.x. In Oracle 8 and onwards, database lets you select ROWID from the views based on multiple views as long as view definition does not contain any aggregated functions or DISTINCT in it. Now coming back to forms ..Forms runtime engine uses ROWID to identify rows uniquely unless specified otherwise. If you are using forms 4.5/5.0 against Oracle 7.x , then change these properties and you should be able to run the form.
    BLOCK PROPERTY
    Key Mode : can be either updateable OR Non-updateable
    ( Certainly not 'Unique' .. That forces forms runtime engine to use ROWID to identify unique rows. )
    ITEM PROPERTY
    Identify one of the block items as unique. And then set the following property
    Primary Key : True.
    This should take care of rowid problem.
